Their servers are awesome -- I came in with a group of 4 old people and my 10 month old daughter. She made a MESS. Had spaghetti and got more of it on the floor than in her mouth (good thing I didn't put sauce on it!)... I offered to clean it up but our waitress refused and was really cool about cleaning it up herself. She even cleaned it up WHILE we were sitting there (most other places wait until the party leaves)! She joked around with us the whole time and was friendly. I wish I had caught her name and I hope my family left her a good tip!! Otherwise, the food was good -- I had the grilled cheese with tomato and it was PERFECT. I ordered broccoli as my side and that came out about 15 minutes after all the rest of the food and was a little too crisp for my liking, but our waitress didn't charge me for it (because it took a while to come out). Hot Breakfast Staff needs to be addressed! After 21 years of highly satisfied dining at Lion's Pride I was quite surprised and upset at how my husband and I were treated on Friday,  May 27th.  And I am still waiting to hear from the owner,  who knows us well. After leaving my cancer treatment center that morning we decided to treat ourselves to a long awaited breakfast.  We were seated in the BACK room (which I'm sure played a part in this problem) & our order was taken.  Customers who  were seated AFTER us  chatted at length with our waitress who knew them, then finally gave their order for lunch.  Quite some time had passed when we accepted a 2nd coffee thinking any minute our hot meal would arrive.  After a 3rd coffee!! she brought our COLD bacon & eggs  (along with the other customers' lunch) and when I told her so, she blamed it on the chef.  Although she offered me a new egg.. I declined as my husband was done - he ate his cold.  When we approached the manager it was obvious the waitress had already covered her tracks & he did not apologize or even listen to what we had to say.   #1.Minimally, the waitress should have offered to go see what was taking so long. #2 The manager should have apologized for the poor service. #3 The manager could have at least taken my meal off the bill.   ( We never asked for a break on the bill. ) #4  The owner should have reached out by now! read more

My husband and I went for dinner tonight, for outdoor seating, because of Covid. As the hostess showed us to our seats, I mentioned to her that her mask should cover her nose. She told me several times that it was covering her nose...i said several times...no, actually, it isn't. She had an attitude. If I can see your silver nose ring hanging from your nostrils, your nose is not covered. Listen, normally, I would not make that big a deal out of it, but it is not acceptable in a restaurant. If you're going to be around food, cover your nose. We left and did not have dinner. read more

Food was just okay. Chipped beef was just meh. One member of party ordered hashbrowns well done (even stated to waitress that she wanted them DARK and crispy) and when they came out they were barely done and nowhere near well done. Asked for them to be fixed. Waitress took the plate back and a manager brought a new plate out where they were a little more done but not what was ordered and said "they're well done now. You'll enjoy it." She then walked away without allowing anyone at the table to answer or talk to her. This was an incredibly unprofessional response especially from a restaurant manager. read more

Never getting out drinks and then .....well nothing even after asking the "hostess" to get our server. We didn't go back for a few years, then tried it again and it was somewhat better. Pancakes are yummy!! They have a different flavor which was welcoming. French toast was meh. Sausage was not greasy and was flavorful, eggs were done correctly per everyone's order. I've tried several times to be understanding and give this restaurant a chance, but enough is enough. Never, ever, again. Every time my family and I have ordered here, at least one of us ends up disappointed. There is always something missing, incorrect, undercooked, overcooked, or we receive a sad little portion that wouldn't even pass for a kid's menu item. Tonight's dinner was no exception. My husband ordered a chicken Caesar salad with an extra portion of chicken and a baked potato. What did he get? A whole bunch of lettuce with zero chicken to be found (see first photo) and a gross mini side of undercooked chicken (second photo). And the baked potato? No where to be found. Of course, I was charged for a full chicken Caesar salad plus the extra chicken and the nonexistent baked potato. The last time I called to report a missing item (mashed potatoes), the owner called me back and actually had the nerve to yell at me and accuse me of lying. This while I was standing in my kitchen making instant mash so my mom had something to eat with her chicken. On another occasion the lady (Heather) in charge of expediting take-out orders gave our entire order to someone else. We had to wait almost an hour for it to be remade. She never apologized or even acknowledged her mistake. The next time my husband called to place an order she asked, "Who is this? Oh, I already know who it is." And laughed. Overall, the food here is just ok, but there are much better restaurants in the area with much more professional and competent front of house staff. Dallastown Family Restaurant is one. Everyone there has always been polite, pleasant, and have never made a mistake on our order, even during dinner rush. read more

This is my favorite breakfast location in the area. I love the food, have always had prompt, friendly service, and find the environment attractive. There is always a crowd of fine folks there ... but I rarely have to wait. I wish to warn you that they now use multiple flat-panel TVs like the ones you see in a sports-bar, and they use them to display Fox News. The TVs don't fit the environment to begin with, and, if you think at all like I do, you find Fox News highly offensive. Thankfully they have the sound off. Occasionally you may run into some slow service on a Sunday morning, but that is to be expected with the after church crowd. The prices are reasonable and the staff seems pretty friendly. If I could give zero stars I would. Do not go to this restaurant! Service was horrible! Waitress took forever to come to our table to take our order. It took forever for the food to be delivered. Excellent food and a pleasant server, although she botched the order. Another server brought the food and by the time I noticed the hash browns (not ordered) he was gone. The check also showed that my wife was charged for coffee which was included with MY meal - Deb does not drink coffee. Long story short, I was overcharged due mistakes made by the original server (no big deal) but the real problem was with the dark haired, somewhat heavyset and extremely unpleasant and obnoxious cashier. She wanted to argue whether or not I had ordered the senior breakfast and was unable to understand that I did not order the hash browns nor did I eat them, and my wife did not order or receive coffee. She refused to adjust the bill and then asked me if I would like to leave a tip on the credit card which I did not due to the circumstances. She then attempted to embarrass me (albeit unsuccessfully) for not giving a tip. I feel bad for the waitress but as the mistake was hers and the restaurant charged me for food that I did not order or drink I had no intention of adding insult to injury. Incidentally, I'm 64 years old, dine out frequently and I believe this was the third time in my entire life when I didn't leave a 20-25% tip. So much for our pleasant after-church breakfast. We dine at The Lion's Pride at least twice weekly in addition to every Sunday and have never been treated so rudely - very unusual for Red Lion, PA. I was surprised to read so many reviews commenting on poor service. I've had dinner at Lion's Pride dozens of times and have never experienced slow food delivery even when the restaurant has been full. Their menu is varied and usually features four or more specials on a daily basis (better to go earlier since some do sell out). They have the best dinner salads too. Inexpensive, large and feature everything you want in a pre dinner salad. They also offer a large selection of homemade desserts. What's not to like? If I had to compare it to a similar dining experience I'd place it a notch above The Cracker Barrel. read more

07/18/2017. I just don't get it. This is a rather nice place but they have all these little stupid problems. They brought us two rolls to hold us over. They were hard as shoe leather on the outside but soft on the inside. Two rolls and.......9 butters???? Since I didn't want a special I ordered turkey. They used to put a lot of gravy on the whole plate which helps everything taste better but they don't any more so I left some food but there was a lot of garbage turkey gristle that I won't eat anyway. My fork was so filthy my napkin was stuck fast to it so they brought another. What is wrong with this place? I guess they just don't care. No more turkey from now on! read more

One of our favorite breakfast places except for the hostess who is consistently discourteous. When she finally gets off her iPhone, does she greet us? No. All we hear is "how many?" No good morning, and certainly no smile-ever. She needs customer service retraining. Lions Pride has nice waitresses and the food is always good. I have been to this place three times since I moved here. I come with my grandmother because she said that she likes the food. All three visits here were horrible, I wish I could give them zero stars. The food is pretty good, it's the service that is terrible. The first waitress we had was this older woman with really blonde hair. She was so rude to us and she kept giving me dirty looks. I was furious when she gave my 88 year old grandmother attitude. I didn't want to come back but my grandmother wanted to give them another chance. We had the same waitress that time and our final visit. She was rude as well and she basically disappeared. No refills, no asking how everything was. Finally got our check after waiting for a while. Then we go to pay and that woman was rude also. My grandmother was disappointed. Don't know how they are still open? Customer service is so important and these people apparently don't think so. Would never recommend this restaurant to anyone!! read more
