Update: I've been using Liox Cleaners now on a regular basis, mostly thanks to the excellent customer service and follow-ups from this business. After my initial review, a man called... I believe he said his name was Sergie?... to inquire about what had happened and I explained. He apologized and credited a refund to me. The second time I used Liox for wash/fold delivery, the clothes came back just fine. Sergie followed up again to ensure that my experience was a good one, and I really appreciated his sense of humor and lack of pushiness over the phone. Obviously they are concerned with keeping a great reputation ( and thus, wanted me to update my review :-)... ) But I did appreciate the care and concern for my experience. So far I've used Liox a couple more times, and while there was one more time where my towels returned still slightly damp (though nowhere NEAR the first time), I believe it may have been more related to my large load of laundry and the quick turnaround time than the service itself. So between the customer service and the efficiency of use, I'd now recommend Liox. read more

I used Liox Cleaners for over a year and had a pretty good experience in the beginning. Sometimes my clothes would come back damp, and I would sometimes find other people's socks in my clothes which wasn't the best. There was another time when they didn't deliver 10 of my hang dry blouses. I had to call and investiage where they were. My last straw though, was when we received a phone call asking if we could no longer use their services because it is too hard to find parking by our apartment. The woman who left the message even said "I'm not sure how professional this is". Unprofessional is right! I find it a bit odd to have a pickup/delivery laundry service, but they won't do our laundry (even though we are only a few blocks away from the store). I have never had such a terrible experience as I have had with this company. I've been looking for a pick-up/drop-off laundry service for the past couple weeks, and I came up Liox and saw the good ratings here. I only used them once, and this is my experience. I signed up on the website, but did not place an order. The next day I got a call from Liox stating that they saw my new account, and asked if I had any questions. I was impressed with this outreach, and decided to place an order the next week (I had decided to try a different laundry service first). Right before placing the order I called back and asked about what was needed for a first order, and asked if the driver could please come up to my apartment (I have a doorman) for just this first pick-up, because I had some questions about how to sort, and I did not have any laundry bags. The man I spoke to said absolutely, and was pleasant. Unfortunately that was the last pleasant encounter. When the driver came to pick-up, I answered the door and said hello, and began to initiate a conversation about what was needed, but I knew immediately that there was a problem, because the driver informed me he did not speak any English. I tried to communicate that I didn't have any bags, and I wasn't sure exactly what to do, and he literally just stared and me and didn't say another word. He wouldn't respond to any more attempts of communicating, so I went and grabbed a big shopping bag, and the competitor's laundry bag (which I found extremely embarrassing), and hurriedly shoved my laundry in. It was very nerve-wracking, and I was flustered, but after it was over, I decided to let it go, no biggie. At least he was on time. The next morning I got a call from my Mom who said that she accidentally left her house key in the pocket of one of my pants (yes, we share clothing haha), and if I could get it back to her. I panicked when I realized that it had gone with Liox. I called them soon after they opened and spoke with a woman about the issue. She said she would make sure the key was found and returned to me, and thanked me for letting them know, since the key would mess up their machines. I told my Mom I would drive the key over to her house (a long drive) in the evening right after the clothes arrived. That night came, with the drop-off window being from 6pm-8pm. After 8pm came and went, I checked with the doorman, and was informed that no one had come by. I didn't get a chance to call Liox until just before 9pm, when they had already closed. I left a voicemail, and sent them an email asking where my clothes were. Almost immediately they responded, and apologized, asking for my address. I responded right away with it, and waited. I heard nothing about it, and the website wasn't updated, so I emailed them again at 9:45pm asking for an update. Around 10pm, I again checked the website and saw that they had changed the delivery date to the next morning between 8am-10am. About 15 minutes later they emailed me about the delivery change, and said sorry. I let my Mom know that I wouldn't be able to get her the key until the next day, and she made arrangements accordingly. Super annoyed at this point, but still willing to forgive. The next morning, 10am came and went, and nothing. I wasn't available to investigate until later (I work from home and was in meetings all day), and around 11:30am, a Liox driver rang my doorbell, dropped the bagged clothes, and bolted. FINE, whatever, I have the clothes, finally. I was STILL willing to overlook everything (I mean, everyone has bad days), but it still got worse. When I took the clothes out, I noticed that there was no key anywhere. I called Liox, and a woman told me that she would have to get me the number to the place they took it to launder (which I hope is a Liox facility, since they claim they do the laundry themselves), and they would be able to tell me what happened. She said she didn't have the number (what?), and would call me back "in a couple seconds" when she got it. SPOILER ALERT, I never got a call back. In fact, from that point on, I never heard from Liox again, either via phone or email. Now, I know it is our fault that the key was with the laundry in the first place, and I take full responsibility for that. I would not have been terribly upset if they said they lost the key, or never found the key, or yelled at me about the key, whatever. AT LEAST CONTACT ME BACK, sheesh. At least I could've let my Mom know that I wasn't going to be able to get it to her, and she would have done things differently so she wasn't stuck without it. Now, I was already furious at this point, but then. BUT THEN, I got to the laundry itself, and began to put it away. Holy crap, it was horrible. About a third wasn't folded, and I had to immediately put two articles BACK into the laundry basket because they were still dirty. Ew ew ew. I am rewashing everything. I complained, and never heard back from them, WHAT A SHOCKER. So sad :(. read more

I started using Liox recently. I had them dry clean a new pair Boss dress pants. They laundered and ruined the pants. Now they are refusing to make the situation right. I highly recommend you go to a cleaners that knows the difference between dress pants/dry clean only and underwear. As for me, I will leverage all means necessary to ensure I receive compensation for these pants. I hope you save yourself the hassle. read more

STAY AWAY. They put absolutely no effort into washing your clothing or bedding. They sent me back my bedding with stains covered in it and hair all of it. It was very obvious that this was never even put through the washer. They have ruined multiple garments of mine, including a very expensive duvet. This place is not worth the money and very untrustworthy. read more

I'm really glad Liox cleaners opened up near me. It's extremely convenient and quite affordable. I've always had trouble communicating with the people who work in the other places around since most can't speak English. Liox has made my life so much easier since moving to the Lower East side. They are always within the two hour timeframe and I haven't had any issues with my laundry. I even like that you get to chose what detergent you get to use! Wow. I am speechless. Rare is the opportunity to witness such a pronounced level of assholery as with the manager of this business. Let me set the stage. A simple wash, one set of bedsheets, weighed and quoted by the lovely lady behind the counter at $7.20. I received a text the next day informing me that my laundry was ready and that the bill was now $8. Upon pick up, the tole had climbed again to $9.60. Fast forward to a phone call with the Liox Cleaners manager. "I would like to pay the price quoted to me when I agreed to this transaction," says I. "You know, the price that's listed on the receipt I was given." After arguing back and forth (over $2.40) I was asked, ney, told to put his employee back on. This was her fault apparently, for weighing and entering the weight (correctly) into HIS computer system, but not adding on an extra tax for having less than 9lbs of laundry, and as such she would be REQUIRED TO TAKE A REDUCTION IN HER PAY to cover the difference. (Merry Christmas to you, Mr. Cratchit!) Needles to say, I paid the now almost $10 asking price to retrieve my sheets. I'm sure the woman behind the counter is making, at the most, minimum wage from this dirt bag anyway. So sir, I hope you get your full $2.40 worth of marketing here, and if anyone else experiences something like this, please don't hesitate to contact the Better Business Bureau and spread the word far and wide. read more

Walk-up life. No laundry machines in-house - but lots of laundry to do. This being my first time without said machines, I was pretty stressed about the whole laundry situation when moving into my new apartment. After extensive research I decided on Liox. Most of the other cleaners in the area had reviews with missing clothing items. I also love the fact that they pick-up and drop-off. I've been using Liox consistently now for over two months and I have to say: SOLD. Liox is so convenient - especially once I discovered the early morning pick-up/drop-off slots. The guys who come to my apartment are super nice and always smiling - awesome waking up to that in the morning! My clothes are cleaned impeccably - never any soggy, wet, stained, bleached or ruined items. I love how they fold my bed sheets in ways I never could, and I can pick items for hang-dry. It is on the pricier side - but I am so satisfied that I actually want to up the tips - I think the value is a steal for the service they provide. It's such a load off my shoulders (one less thing to do/stress about) and I 100% trust them with even my most loved articles of clothing. read more
