Manager and staff are unbelievably rude. I got berated by the manager just for standing in his way when I was trying to sort through the bathing suits and Quicksilver shirts. The surfboards here are also overpriced and have a poor build quality to them. The fins are loose and shoddily put together, and the way that they are stacked on top of each other has given them tons of marks and scratches. If you are looking for a better surf store, look elsewhere. read more

Common theme here... spent a few days in this town and it is ironic that the only grumpy person, literally the only grumpy person is in a surf shop. I wanted to buy some things with their logo for me and the family... so easily would spend over $100. I chose not to because the owner was mean and rude to multiple customers. Why would I wear that logo in the future having a memory of such a mean guy? We walked out and the group next to us felt the same way. Trust me, I have been in surf shops all my life and you could cut the tension in there with you and your employees with a knife. Sorry if you are going through something in life but brother, if you are struggling, may need to spend more time in the water to get some of the ocean vibe... you need it. read more

Completly agree with the reviews about terrible customer service ! I'll preface this review with saying...my Issue was not that the owner was upset that I was returning something (even though it was brand new and completely in line with his return policy...it was the way he yelled and berated woman and a customer. We are on vacation from DC and never have I been treated so disgustingly in a store in my life. Needed a pair of men's swim trunks. Came into the store to purchase. They sell higher end brands (things you would find in a Nordstrom or maybe Macy's) which was great...we were looking for quality. They did not have a large selection of what we were looking for in a correct size. We found something but it was in a bit of a larger size. I asked the front desk girl if there was any return policy (I had assumed there wouldn't be because it's a summer inclined business). The girl literally waved me off and said "oh it's no problem. Just as long as you have a receipt". My husband walked around in them for literally 2/3 hours and they were way too big. Brought them back with receipt SAME DAY! The owner berated me by yelling at me in front of a store full of customers. He was yelling "is this the kind of person you are?!"..."do you return your underwear!?" "I'm a small business! How can you expect me to survive?!" I tried to explain to him that I literally asked his employee all the details about any returns and what condition they can be in. (The condition was completely new). He also ran out into the parking lot at me yelling for me to never come back. Wasn't planning on it! If you cannot accept returns for fear of going out of business- here's a tip sir...NO REFUNDS! NO RETURNS! read more

Rude management and staff. Had an unpleasant experience with the owner, Mark. Mark made my girlfriend feel uncomfortable while staring her up and down. He also made me feel like a burden and unwelcome when I was asking about trading in a surfboard. I have been in surf shops all along the east coast, and have never come across such a rude owner and staff. Do not recommend. Go to Black Point Surf Shop or Summer Sessions instead. read more

Solid surf shop! Whether you're a newbie or a veteran surfer you can't go wrong with Liquid Dreams. The staff is knowledgeable and responsive. Prices are reasonable. I recently brought in a vintage longboard for repair. At first glance it looked like a lost cause, then Mark and his crew went to work. Several weeks later my vintage board is ready for use. I'm happy with the work and the price. I couldn't recommend Liquid Dreams more. read more

Good selection and knowledgeable staff, but I have a gripe. I bought a used 7' Kane Garden fish, and I was guaranteed that it was water tight. Refused to budge on price. I decided the price was decent if I didn't need to spend any time repairing it. Well, I did have to spend several hours making repairs to this board to make it water tight. I will never buy another board here. You lost a customer for life. read more

Bottom line: amazing SUP yoga and SUP rental shop that caters to all levels of experience - best staff in Ogunquit! Details: Every summer my family and I vacation in Ogunquit and this is my second year visiting Liquid Dreams for a SUP rental. Last year I barely knew how to paddleboard and the staff was incredibly helpful with tips and advice! Made me feel really comfortable despite being a little out of my element at a surf shop. Since then, I've had a lot of experience with SUPs and so I was excited to go back. My sister and husband were game, as well, so I figured we would spend a morning going out on the water. Two days beforehand, I stopped by the shop to find out their hours and saw a sign for SUP yoga - something I have been itching to try for the past year but either didn't have the opportunity or chickened out. I'm a beginner yogi, and not a total SUP expert, but I couldn't say no again, so I signed up. SO GLAD I DID IT - the instructor was incredible both at yoga, and at making us feel comfortable on the boards the entire time, offering plenty of pose modifications. There were only a few of us, so it was really peaceful and yet challenging at the same time. I left feeling sad that it was over, but stronger for having done it. I now have plenty of ideas for how to develop a SUP yoga practice of my own once I have my own board (which they also gave me advice on!) I really can't say enough good stuff about this place and can't wait to go back next year. And if you love good, fresh food, next door is an amazing restaurant (Hooks) whose staff is equally as amazing. read more

Went to the main store today in Ongunquit, Maine. My daughter walked in first and said Hello to the owner and a younger guy behind the counter - no response??? My wife and I sat down on the couch to wait for our daughter to try on some suits. I had to get up to help my daughter find a different size suit. Passed by the owner now out from his perch, went to say hi and again nothing... he proceeds to walk by my wife still on the couch - he squeezes by her and grabs some coat hangers that were on the couch. Still no Hello or excuse me or anything. Just a scowl and a lot of attitude. This isn't Venice bro... leave your attitude at home. Not even sure while you have a Joel Tudor log back on the rack. With at least 4 working the shop, I never once heard anybody ask any of us if we needed help. Too cool I guess.. FYI - Your shop on the Long Sands beach run by kids - totally different and chill. Stay home grumps and let the kids run the show. read more

Liquid Dreams in York did not have a non-coiled SUP leash when mine broke in the surf. I drove to the Ogunquit shop. They had one but the price of $37 was more than The $36 I had in my wallet. The clerk told me to "not worry" and that he could "make it right". I appreciate kindness. I will be back to Liquid Dreams. read more

Went to ladies night surf lessons tonight with three friends. The instructors were Alex and Quinn, two young men with a lifetime of surfing experience. They were professional, helpful, and friendly. The conditions were rough but we learned alot and had a great time. Cannot recommend them enough. In addition, everyone at the shop was helpful and friendly to us. Thank you! read more

Horrible experience! I had my dog with me, so upon entering, I asked the guy at the front register if it was okay to bring him in. He said it was fine. I had been browsing the racks for about 15 minutes when suddenly, a sales girl appears and informs me that the owner just arrived at the shop with his dog, and they don't really allow other dogs in the store when he's there. So, I was asked to leave. How about put the owner's dog on a leash temporarily, and allow your customer to continue shopping? I *was* there first. Just saying. Anyway, I was annoyed, but said nothing, and headed toward the exit. At the door, the owner's aggressive dog lunges at my dog! Thankfully, my dog was leashed, so I was able to yank him out of harms way (twice - two lunges!) while they did nothing but give vocal commands - which were ignored by the aggressive dog. Actually, it's probably for the best. I saw about four dresses I liked, $30-$50 each. You saved me from spending the money. And now, you'll never see me again. read more

This is not the place to go if you're looking to rent a kayak and you cherish your car. While loading a kayak onto my car, the salesmen created many deep scratches along the roof, despite their reassurance that the cardboard they placed as a barrier would prevent this.The salesmen did not have my or my car's best intention at heart; they offered to load two kayaks onto a car that could barley hold one. The only thing keeping the kayak from flying off the roof while driving to the docking sight was one strap... clearly hazardous. 0/10 would not recommend. read more

I started stand up paddling boarding a couple years ago and Liquid Dreams has been really helpful to me. Caught my first wave during a Liquid Dreams lesson, and bought my board and other equipment there. The team there are a bunch of friendly and helpful people who make it a pleasure to ask questions and learn more. Couldn't recommend them more. read more

i called the York liquid dreams on Friday night and they said they had plenty of SUP. When I arrived on Saturday they were sold out and suggested that I go to the ogunquit store. They said that in Ogunquit I would be able to put the paddle board in the water right at the store where I could also park. When we arrived there was a man in the parking lot with two young boys driving dirt bikes around the field there. When I was in the store he was extremely rude to my family members and said were not able to park there. He never asked if we were renting. The sales clerk was very nice inside but said it was an 8 minute walk to the water. I rented it and we had one of our own also. It was not an 8 minute walk with paddle boards life jackets and paddles. In addition, the man in the parking lot turned out to be the owner and told me he was stressed out over his boys being on the dirt bikes and the town harassing him about parking. I dropped everyone off (good thing I have a truck and didn't mind walking down rte 1 and then over to the footbridge) drove back, parked and then walked back to the footbridge. (30 minutes to do this at the beginning and end of the outing) The paddle board was great however the experience was not. The owner clearly needs a class in customer service read more
