I got a cut and didn't notice how terribly asymmetric it was until I got home and washed my hair. The right side was over an inch longer than the left. The back had a v-shape cut out of the center. I came back an hour later for a fix, and they told me it was perfect if only I would blow dry it. They offered to do some cleanup, but they insisted I was mistaken and wouldn't make any cuts other than the ones I explicitly asked for. I needed to tell them exactly where to cut. I couldn't possibly do that as a non-professional. And I had no clear vision of the back. If they wanted to do it correctly, they would require me to pay for another haircut with blow dry. Which I did. I paid a second time, since it would be embarrassing to leave with such a bad hair cut. I was upset and impatient and left after I was told it was fixed. I came home and found the v shape cut in the back is gone, but the hair is still about quarter an inch longer on the right side. read more

I've taken my 3 year old son here twice and both times he got the same lady. I was hoping he wouldn't get her again because she's very unfriendly and rude. She'd get irritated if my son moved just a little and doesn't even try to make him feel comfortable. The second time that we came, i told her to fade his hair a little higher and she started talking to herself all irritated in Vietnamese. Rude! When I paid, she took off so rude and quick after as if I wasnt gonna tip her. Made my son bring her the tip and she glanced all bitchy, said thanks then turned back around. She made she interacted very well with me to what I want and what suits me. Since I was open to trying a new hair style she showed me photos of several hair styles and suggested what would suit me. I've always gone to Lisa's since I was a child & thought they did okay. My boyfriend kept trying to tell me to go to a real salon and I told him I rather spend $10 vs $50 if I feel they do okay. Well officially I'll say it, my boyfriend was right! I've had long hair my whole life and decided to go short for the first time ever. I told the lady I wanted my hair right below my shoulders, she cut it above my shoulders! Also instead of using scissors like any normal person would, she chopped the length of my hair with an electric machine for MENS hair! My cut is uneven and HORRIBLE! I've never cried because of a haircut, and they changed that for me! This is my first Yelp review...I've actually just set up my account so I could share my recent BAD experience with Lisa's. I went in a couple of days ago to get a haircut. I got a basic standard faded cut (a 2 or 3 setting on the sides) and was happy with it until I got home and realized that there was a spot about the size of a nickel on my left side where it was cut all the way to the skin. I returned to the shop this morning hoping that it would be taken care of. I was seated, and the area immediately around the mistake was faded in at the shortest setting (where the mistake is still quite visible, but will hopefully grow out reasonably well). The woman then asked if I wanted the rest faded at the same length...I said I would so that it would all match. She completed that in 2 minutes, and then walked me to the register. I got out a few bucks to tip her for taking care of the mistake, but she told me a tip wasn't necessary, but I would need to pay FULL PRICE for a full haircut. I did my best not to be obnoxious about it, but told her that I didn't think this was fair. She didn't seem to mind. I think this is awful customer service, and I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else who goes to Lisa's. read more

I dropped by Honda Peninsula Ducati to pick up some sweet Valentine's day gifts for my RC51, and decided to go in for a haircut just because I parked in a slot clearly marked as "Haircut". $8 for a guy's haircut. That my friend, is CHEAP. I don't recall spending $8 on a haircut since graduate school. It makes you wonder if America has gone back to the golden standard. When you're going to an $8 haircut, you don't really expect much. You know they're going to spend no more than 15 minutes or so, but you just expect a competent job. You expect them to do what you say (e.g. "tapered on the sides", "half inch of the top", etc.) Not at this place. This was the worst haircut I have ever received. It was not worth any price. In fact, I had something important to go to 4 days later, and I wish I hadn't gotten my hair cut at all. This is the first time I've ever felt that way. I gave specific instructions to the hair cut guy, he repeated them, and then proceeded to whack my hair in a way I never asked for. He knew he screwed up, but pretended like it was fine. The women hair stylists who worked there looked over, not really caring, especially the one with the overdone boob job, who appears to be the head of the place. I actually waited two weeks to write this review because (1) I was so upset on the day I got it cut that I didn't think I could possibly write a fair review and (2) I wanted to see how my hair "grew out". Well, it's two weeks later and it looks terrible. If you do go here -- and I advise you not to -- you should follow the herd and ask for the woman with the overdone boob job. You'll spend 2 hours waiting your turn with her, but you might get a decent hair cut. Apparently some people do, or there wouldn't be a long wait for her. read more

Nope. I've been here quite a few times and they don't listen to me when I saw "low-fade." I point out where to stop the fade and tell them to taper it out a little. They look at me with a confused look and start talking in some language to another and proceed to give me the general buzzcut. Haircut was nice and price was even better...$8.00 Root touch up was great, first time getting this done...$40 well worth the cost, which meant I didn't have to completely bleach my hair again. Not the best ascetically look a salon. Not the cleanest looking salon. Not the most modern salon. Lisa's Perfect Cuts, my go-to place with my older sister when I want to redye my hair, touch-up my roots, or simply just trim some split ends. I recommend making an appointment the day before so you don't have to wait as long as the other people who just simply drop-by without a scheduled appointment. Thanh spent a lot of time on my hair, and she also knows what suits you best. I really didn't know what color I wanted to get, but I just knew that I wanted to get a color where my roots wouldn't grow out so noticeably and fast. Just trust Thanh's instincts; she definitely knows what looks best for my hair, better than I know what's best for myself, haha. Thus, she gave me a dark brown color along with some lowlights and I couldn't be happier. She also gave me a V-back (my standard haircut style) and managed to trim all my split ends in less than 10 minutes like a pro. My wife and I both needed a quick, inexpensive cut with acceptable quality. I have challenging hair because it is thick and blond, a rarity now in the Silicon Valley. Rose cut my hair with great care and precision. She did not rush the work, but trimmed and snipped until she was happy with the result. I clearly got more than $10 worth. I can have a nice conversation and get an amazingly priced haircut! They're open really late too, which is the kind of bonus you never really consider until you realize you desperately need a haircut at 8:30pm! It's my go to place for a quick and reasonably priced haircut. It's not what I might call a salon, but I just go here for a basic cut. The biggest pro for me are the hours. They are open late like 8 pm late which is what I usually need. Parking is easy and the wait isn't too long. Price is 11 for a guys cut with a dollar of for cash payment. I give them four stars because of the convenience, price, and the friendliness of the staff. Take my review with a grain of salt because my thinking is "It's hair. I have been coming to this place for a haircut for over fifteen years. In general, the two ladies who have been there for a long time are competent and nice. I waited for a long time today, not that there were a lot of people in the waiting area but, because people had appointments can just walk in and get served immediately. This is not something posted on the door. Unfortunately, I had a new guy who cut my hair. He didn't seem to understand simple direction. I told him that I wanted him to cut my hair to shoulder length, which is so simple. I even showed him the inches he needs to take off. He started telling me that my hair will curl up and other stuff. His accent was hard to understand. Then, he asked, you wanted it long or short. I said, not long. When he was done, my hair was three inches above shoulders. I told this is the shortest I ever had my hair. He didn't seem to care and just brushed me off. The customer service here needs to improve. read more

My husband has gotten his hair cut here with decent results (especially for $8), so I thought I would give it a try. I asked the guy for 3-4 inches off, layered. He proceeded to cut my hair across in a straight line. He probably spent about 5 minutes total. When I said that there were no layers, he said something about my hair being too thin for layers. Ridiculous! I've gotten my hair layered my entire adult life. I guess he thought he knew my hair better after seeing it once that I did having lived with it... my whole life. I didn't want to deal with it anymore (really hard to communicate), so I just left. Maybe the ladies are better at giving haircuts, but I'd rather find a place where I don't have to ask for a specific person. Been here twice so far. 1st time: simple shampoo and trim - was decent, nothing flashy, good shampoo and wash - haircut was fast but good quality - there was a 15-30 min wait as they seem to be quite popular (I mean, for $8/9 men's haircut I can see why) - cheap, got the job done 4/5 stars 2nd time (today): shampoo, deep conditioning treatment, and bangs cut - good hair wash, solid deep conditioning treatment (will have to see how long it lasts) - very nice ladies, talkative if you want to talk but understanding if you don't - love love my haircut - not very complicated cut as I just need edges trimmed and then simple side swept bangs but it looks great, especially after I got it blow dried. - very kind for giving me a discount but even without it the total cost would've been $35 which would've been the cost at a fancier salon just for a haircut. If you want a no-frills, simple neighborhood hairdresser, Lisa's is the perfect place to go. read more

Went to Lisa's cuts for my son's haircut. This place is really kid friendly. I was satisfied with my kids haircut. I did highlight for my hair too today. They did a good job. But then it dint feel that good to sit among people who were continuosly speaking in a language not known to you. And then the worst part.. My husband had paid for my kids haircut while a lady was doing my highlight. Then, while we went to pay for my highlihght, they said we did not pay for my kid's haircut and charged us an extra $10. If I could, I would give this place negative stars. I NEVER write reviews, but I HAD to write this horrible place one. This past Friday, we went in for a haircut for my 5 year old daughter. The lady that came to get us neither greeted us nor smiled. She had short blonde hair and was wearing glasses. I think she is the one a lot of people have mentioned in their bad reviews. I now regret not reading the reviews before visiting this place. Well anyways, I tell her how I wanted the hair cut, which was really very simple. To make it shoulder length and keep it all even. She proceeded to cut my daughter's hair in a very unprofessional manner, all the while having a cold look on her face. As I watched, I had a feeling this was not going to end well. As expected, the haircut turned out to be extremely choppy and the length ended up being several inches above the shoulder. She also left my daughter's hair completely wet and said we were done. I was shocked. Never once before, did I have to ask for my child's hair to be dried after a cut, and she's had several. She also did not brush off hair that got on her neck/ face. And when I asked her if she could please blow dry, she unhappily obliged. Then without a word, she walked off to the register to await payment. It was $13 for the cut and I tipped her $1 even though she deserved $0. But the horror story does not end here. Once in the car, my daughter told me that she had bumped her head with the dryer several times and also pointed the dryer on her face! I was very upset. And when I checked my daughter's hair, I could clearly see one side was longer than the other and was sticking out in an odd way. So we went back inside, showed her that and asked her to fix it. She kept arguing that it was even but finally started to cut her hair. And once she thought she was done, she just walked away and was nowhere to be seen, again leaving my daughter's hair wet! I picked up the dryer and proceeded to dry my daughter's hair while all the other hair stylists watched and none of them offered to help! Someone offered a lukewarm apology while we were walking out, but by this time, I was DONE!! I am SO appalled by the way they treat their customers and the kind of staff they have in their salon! The hair cut we received, was anything but perfect, but the service and experience was horrific to say the least! read more
