I can't give them a five and don't want to give them a three, so I am compromising. We no longer live in the area where Lisa's , in the east side university neighborhood of Milwaukee, but remember it fondly from our younger days, so we called in a pickup order. It's probably true that our memories exceeded reality, but it just wasn't the same. Not as cheesy, not as bountiful, but some of the old flavors still remained, especially the sausage, with several spices. We learned that they still have many loyal customers who live in the area, patrons who have been regulars for over 60 years, so maybe next time we'll give it another try, perhaps eating in rather than reheating at home.

It's a cute little space with AMAZING pizza. I had the regular crust and the Detroit, and both were wonderful. Service was great initially, but unfortunately I went on a Friday night, and they were just understaffed. They have a huge volume of takeout orders, and a lot of people coming in as well. I hope they can hire some additional help soon to be running with maximized efficiency!

First, I think the food is a 5, but they forgot to send my beverage with my order....sadness. But on to the good stuff. The cheese breadsticks were not what I was expecting. They were thick and airy in the middle with an excellent outer crunch. And the clearly use very good mozzarella. I could have used just a touch more marinara, but very delicious. I ordered a deluxe pizza. This had an amazing amount of toppings. The crust was delightfully thin and crispy, even after a delivery. I think I enjoyed the sausage the most. Excellent flavor. I would order again.

    The Detroit pizza is amazing.

Amazing people and great service. Had the Detroit pizza and it was the best I've ever had. Tremendously good sausage and crispy sides and bottom. 5 stars. The staff is friendly and engaging. Give it a shot!

Tried Lisa's for the first time and went on a Tuesday to take advantage of their specials, 1/2 off pitcher of beer and buy one get one half off pizza. Really enjoyed the pizzas, two different styles made pretty well with quality ingredients. The build your own Detroit style with Wisconsin Brick Cheese and pepperoni was slightly over done but that didn't detract from the flavor. The slight umami hit from the dough balances out the touch of sweet from the sauce and the fattieness of the pepperoni. The pub style had a strong crust with pepperoni and a dollap of ricotta cheese on each slice with a drizzle of hot honey. I didn't get the heat of the honey but overall felt it was a great pairing. If you've been wanting to go, do it.

Whenever a restaurant comes under new ownership, there is always a question of what will happen with the recipes that made it noteworthy. Lucky for us, the new owners (Hannah and Dean) kept what worked and added their own amazing additions, backed by their own developing culinary backgrounds and experiences. For example, along with the traditional sauce that made Lisa's pizza so delicious, there is also Hannah's own dessert recipes, an espresso martini made with Dean's own cold brew coffee recipe and the garlic bread, also created by Dean. While small changes have been made to the interior, with more slowly on the way, you will still find the dining room dimly lit and intimate. Although service was a little slow to start, our girl who seemed to be running the whole show did the best she could. Then Dean arrived, and he did an excellent job engaging and assisting us. He was kind enough to answer all our questions and make recommendations. The large cheese, sausage, mushroom and onion pizza we shared was fantastic and made with a generous amount of toppings. The combo plate veggies had a crispy coating, which kept their texture tender but not soft. The cheesy garlic bread was to die for. One of, if not THE best, I've ever had. DO NOT go here without ordering some! Then there's the Tiramisu. WOW. You could taste the coffee, although not overwhelmingly so, and the cream was fluffy and not overly sweet. Lisa's has been a Milwaukee staple, and it was wonderful to experience the classic flavors that brought us back, as well as new flavors that will keep us coming back for more!

The ordering process was very easy and smooth one quick phone call. The lady on the phone was very nice, but I ordered from their late night menu and I was told when I asked for extra sauce that it was a generous amount of sauce but when I got my pizza, there was no sauce on it, except around the edges of the crust very disappointing And when I called the lady back on the phone while she was understanding which I hundred percent, give her credit for there was no mention of talking with the morning staff who make the pizza about correcting the issue I did come back two days after to get a refund and the process took less than two seconds she took the pizza and gave me my money back I just wanted this to be a warning for whoever orders here don't order off the late night menu. The photo is from 20 minutes after I got my order.

    Delicious dessert

Lovely decor & wall art that adds to the Italian ambiance. Very clean establishment & easy access to well kept restrooms. Our bill was a bit high, but that was mostly because some of the cocktails were over $15 & the prices of those aren't shown on the menu -they sure were delicious but keep that in mind if you're trying to stay under $100 for two people. We started with a couple of the signature cocktails. My Papa Gio's Old Fashioned was outstanding. The additional Cynar amaro is a stroke of genius. For starters, we ordered the Fried Eggplant (Melanzane Fritte), which was probably the best we have ever had. It arrived piping hot, and the breading was fried to perfection. The eggplant itself was mild, with no hint of bitterness. The accompanying marinara sauce was thick and flavorful. For entrées, we ordered Gio's Stuffed Filet and the Chicken Parmesan. The filet was cooked perfectly to medium-rare and was delicious. The Chicken Parmesan was a huge portion. There were literally three chicken breasts, each with well-seasoned breading and fried to a beautiful golden crispness. It was excellent. We had plenty of leftovers and enjoyed several more meals at home. (The eggplant reheats especially well in an air fryer.) Service: We had a 5:30 reservation and were seated right away. We let our server know that we had a performance to attend and were assured that we would be out with plenty of time to spare. For the vast majority of the evening, the service was great. Unfortunately, things changed toward the end of the meal. We literally could not find our server, and we suspect they may have also been handling a party upstairs. Since we needed to leave, we had the host help us get our bill paid. Feeling rushed at the end of the meal took a bit of the polish off an otherwise excellent experience. Atmosphere: The restaurant is small and has an authentic feel to it. The photos and décor make you feel as though you're dining in a typical European restaurant. The tables are close together, and it was a bit noisy at times. Overall, we had a very good experience. I can't say enough about the drinks and food. I just wish the service had been more consistent throughout the evening. We are looking forward to our next meal there.

We went to Il Cervo on a Sunday around noon, took the elevator up to nine, and entered a lobby with view-through larder showcasing hanging meats and fresh ingredients. Wine racks were displayed throughout the huge space. The space is expansive and during the day, quite bright. It is broken into several different seating areas and at least one lounge and one bar that I saw. You can also choose to sit on the balcony. It seemed remarkably empty of diners, but they could have been concentrated in other sections. Unfortunately we were seated directly next to a party of three who were very, very chatty, even though our dining area had no other occupied tables. We let our server know that we had a cruise deadline and needed to be paced accordingly and she acknowledged it and offered to bring our bill with our food. We ordered bloody Marys, which took a little bit to come out. They were good, with just enough spice, a tajiin rim, a couple olives and two pieces of cheese for garnish and sans the Sconnie beer chaser. My friend ordered the mushroom bianca pizza, hand-pulled mozzarella, fontina, black truffle ricotta, local mushrooms, roasted garlic, chives for $25. It came out and could easily have fed three or four. It was definitely more than a personal pizza. She enjoyed it and we both enjoyed the leftovers. Caveat - it was much better warm according to her. I ordered the bacon, egg, and cheese flatbread, without the bacon (bacon, scrambled egg, ricotta cheese, scallion). I could have added truffle for $15, but on an $18 dish, that seemed excessive. The crust was exceptional and unlike anything I've ever had. There was some sort of hot honey glaze, which I usually don't enjoy, but the balance on this was excellent. I'd order this again in a heartbeat. Unmentioned on the menu descriptions were the micro greens which added freshness and lightness to both dishes. Our timing was still really tight. We had to ask for our bill and to-go-containers. We made it out just in time. It took an age to run our cards, which we handed over with the bill unseen. Overall very nice, and I'd love to try their pasta flight next time I'm in town
