Lisle Lanes is the best bowling alley! The employees are great and work very quickly. The alley is HUGE so there's almost always a lane open. Not only that, you can actually reserve a lane, which is so great when you have a large party. In my experience, the only other lanes that you can do that with are places like pinstripes and lucky strike, which are 3x the price. Lisle Lanes is our go to spot! read more

Our bowling balls would get stuck several times. Had to have a worker go back to clear out whatever was blocking them. There is no food to order since the restaurant in front is closed early. I bowl on a league at Lisle Lanes and from the owner to all the staff, they are all friendly. Yes, the place looks dated, but it the lanes that count and they are in good shape. The pro shop is great too. Dave will help you pick out the correct bowl for you. He fits your bowl perfectly for the way you throw your bowl. He is very knowledgeable. I experienced racism. 1st noticed no people of color when I entered. -- I was denied an open lane, which there were 4-5 open and was told by a male clerk that 8:45pm a lane would become available. A Caucasian family then walked in, asked for a lane- no reservation - and was offered a lane. I confronted that male clerk and asked why I was denied, of course, no response. This bowling alley is horrible. The equipment doesn't work. They don't serve buckets of beer/seltzers so bar service takes 20 mins on league nights. The bar prices are too high and they have a limiter on the bottles so the drinks are weak. Caesar, the owner, repeatedly double books lanes/parties and is rude. Good old school bowling alley! Fair pricing, and they have a restaurant attached that serves breakfast all day! we love to do what we call "brunch and bowl." The food is actually really yummy (especially the bacon and hash browns) and a great deal. A fun time for the family or a date night. read more

Lisle Lanes is the facility I bowl on a mixed bowling league. Lanes itself aren't bad, they are clean and always well oiled. It's my first time bowling here and I used to bowl at stardust. Therefore the lanes are a bit of a downgrade. I do drive about 45 minutes because the staff and other bowlers are very nice. It is not a competitive league, but it is a lot of fun. Now the reason I am only giving it 3 stars is because their restaurant and bar are no good. The food in the restaurants seems and tastes like its frozen and its always hard and so expensive. At least if you are planning to charge that much for mozzarella sticks you can make sure they are actually cheesy and not cold and hard. The bar....... what is there to say about a bowling alley that never offers specials, not even to league bowlers. $5 for a Pepsi and a splash of rum??? Are you kidding me. I like it when bowling alleys would offer specials on drinks because then they would be a lot busier and who doesn't want to make money and patrons happy??? It's a win-win if you ask me. Maybe the OWNER reads this because all the bartenders always wonder why there are no specials. Other than that everything is quite good. Went today with a large party with our family that was visiting from out of town. They gave us four lanes together only for two of the lanes to constantly have the balls getting stuck. By the time our other two lanes were half way thru their second game we hadn't even finished our first. We had to continuously go up front and ask to have the balls returned. We went up to the front desk to ask for some sort of refund for the two lanes and the older man just walked away as we were talking. I would avoid this place if all possible. read more

Owner is super rude. We asked for 10 more minutes after we paid by the hour. We asked because 6 times we had to wait at the desk for them to reset the pins because it wouldn't drop the whole set of 10 pins. Owner told me to fuck off. There is a reason they have lanes open on the weekend. read more

There is a restaurant attached however when the restaurant is closed (like on New Years Eve) there is no way to order food for your family. The employees were kind and even called the owner to ask if we could order food and the owner said no. It is appalling to think after paying for a party of 12 with 2 hours of bowling and shoe rental plus ordering alcoholic beverages however we could not feed the kids. We will NEVER go back. Horrible ownership. If you have a restaurant attached with a waitress delivering food and then it closes regardless of affiliation allow your paying customers to order food and do not tell them to use your vending machine. Very welcoming atmosphere. Great place for a Saturday outing! My sisters and I planned an outing & bowling was our game of choice. All of the "big" name places weren't sounding to appealing for our friendly get together so I called Lisle Lanes, spoke to Dave about reservations for a Saturday and he was very helpful. We got a lane right away and bowled a couple hours before leagues began. We enjoyed eats from the the cafe. Everyone was pleasant and overall pretty helpful as we hadn't bowled in years. I would give this less than 1 if I could. I don't post much. I usually post when I'm very happy with service. This is not one of those times. The new ownership here is garbage. We had coupons for the day we went and we had friends who came from distance to bowl. The owner made it a point to come out and deny these coupons, despite the fact that the place was empty and the coupons were valid. We showed all of this to him and he denied us anyway. I had no choice but to continue bowling because I didn't want to ruin the night for people who drove out. He knew that and used it to his benefit. I want to support local places but when places like this exist they should be exposed. I would suggest you spend your money elsewhere as they will do what they can to gouge you. I promised him I would write my experience and I am. Spend your money on people who care that you want to be a customer. This guy doesn't care and expects you to buy which I unfortunately did because I had no choice at the time. I will never piss away my dollars again on such a disrespectful business owner. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place like the plague. To the ownership: PLEASE answer. We spoke to ownership several times and none of you cared. BTW: I want nothing for free. I recommend this place for a birthday party for 80 people. They then ordered food from a local pizza place and tried having it delivered the same day in the pizza Place said that they are not allowed to bring food there anymore. I was a little embarrassed for recommending this place. I actually went in there and the whole place was entirely empty when I verified that they wouldn't let them bring the pizza in. They have some sort of restaurant there now. It's just a heads up no outside food is allowed anymore for parties. You have to go to their bar and order. This policy just started this year. I felt a little stupid when they called me and told me this. I didn't know how to respond. Nothing like trying to find a new location for a kids birthday party last minute. read more

They take care of the lanes, staff is friendly enough, and theres a decent amount of lanes for what seemed to be a small establishment. If you order a pizza be warned though, they dont make it in-house (they have a joint-deal with a local pizza place) and ours arrived when we were just about done bowling. Other than that, its one of the cheapest places to bowl in Dupage so it makes for a great practice session or outing for a casual game with friends. read more

It's a bowling alley, not too fancy not...fancy at all actually. As far as bowling alleys go, I've been to better. The ball selection is paltry and difficult to find one that will work for you. They a wall of heavy balls with tiny finger holes or medium/light weight balls where the finger holes are on opposite sides of the ball. The saving grace for me was that there was a nifty little arcade that had some sweet pinball. And the bars were well tended. The specials weren't really all that special, but what really gave me sadface was that they didn't do buckets. I cried a little. read more

We had a great time bowling at these lanes on Saturday night, although it took awhile for us to get to this point. I had a Groupon for two hours of bowling on a Friday or Saturday night, so I had planned to go with a few friends. I called on Saturday a couple of hours before to see if I could reserve a lane and they told me that in fact they have leagues taking up all of their lanes on Saturday night until around 10:30 PM. I was shocked that on probably one of the busiest nights for non-league bowlers to bowl that you would not leave any of your lanes open to the public. Disappointed, I decided to use my groupon on another night and I went about finding another bowling alley. Long story short, the other place didn't work out either because they had unlimited bowling and we ended up waiting an hour there before giving up. We called Lisle Lanes around 9 PM and again asked if they had any lanes open up. We explained that we had been waiting at another alley for over an hour and were just looking for a place to bowl. The manager wanted to help us, so he said to come over and he'd get us on a lane in less than 10 minutes. We went over and checked in and he told us that he'd have a lane in a few minutes. We had enough time to grab a drink and then our lane was ready. I had no problem with them honoring the Groupon and we had a great time. My only suggestion would be to have lanes more available for non-league bowlers during peak times. read more

Okay so I've been here multiple times and haven't had a problem until recently. I came here on June 20th at about 10pm with my girlfriend and another couple to bowl a few games and have a few drinks. When we walked in only 3 lanes were occupied - so not many people were there. First we walked up the counter and waited for about 5 minutes before anyone came to us. Actually a worker walked right past us and didn't help us. Next a lady ended up helping us and told us about a deal - 3 games and shoes for $7 per person. We did that. After bowling one game a larger group of people left which only left us and one other group. Halfway through our second game the other group left which left us. At this point, the music shut off and the bar closed (it was about 10:50pm). The lady that helped is came up to us to let us know they were closing at 11pm but somewhat implied we could finish out games if we hurried up!? (Why would you sell us 3 games if you closed within an hour?) Also their website and door said it was open until midnight. As soon as we finished the employees basically left with us. So that sucked. We won't be coming back here considering this happened. read more

Can't really comment if the lanes were considered "good" to the average person but everything seemed up to par as far as the facility is concerned. Let me start off by saying this place is a DUMP! There was water on the floor in the bathroom (which they knew about cause there's a sign on the door walking in) , the "old fashioned" seat were duck taped together along with rust and mold on the floors and in the bathroom. The employees (especially the short, balding, over weight one) has no customer service and was very rude with whatever we need help with (not much). Our PAID was stopped more than halfway through because of a mistake they made and they refused to let us finish our game. Overall a bad first experience there and I would never go back nor recommend it to anyone. If you're looking for a good place to bowl Suburbanite on Ogden Ave is great, everyone there is super friendly, accommodating, clean and a great price!!! read more

My family and I were bowling here, and were kicked out and treated like trash for no good reason! We spent over $40 on bowling ball bags, $40 on 3 games with shoe rentals, and another $35 on drinks and food, for a total of $115. While we were in the early frames of our third game, a nice woman came by to drop off some league standings and envelopes for a couples league that was starting soon. We even asked about the league, since my wife and I were looking to join one soon. Next, the trouble started. A rude league member asked if we were going to leave. I stated that we were in our last game and would leave as soon as it was done. He saw that we were had just started our fourth frame, and went to the desk to complain. The employees informed us that we had to leave since the league was starting soon. The rude member became more possessive and belligerent, insisting rudely that we leave. Finally, we, and a few other families, said that we would leave and never come back. We were offered passes for future games in exchange for the league member treating us like second class citizens, but we refused stating that we would never be back. The topper came when we were leaving. I told the rude member, "Thanks for ruining a family's fun day out." He stated the following: "I didn't ruin anything. You can shove it up your a$$!" (in from of my 7 year old son and 11 year old daughter). My wife said, "Wow!" and he said to me and my wife, "I will shove a boot up your a$$." Apparently, this is the type of behavior that is condoned at Lisle Lanes, and the type of clientele they are attracting. We will never be back, and I can't imagine that the other families involved will be either. I encourage every family in the area to avoid this business in favor of other area lanes that care about how their customers are treated. I hold on to a faint hope that they will actually do something about this rude league member who was WAY out of line in treating families that were out for a fun afternoon of bowling. read more

I am not sure why there are haters on here about this place. It was VERY CLEAN, great service at the bar and cheap munchies and beer. Its old school but alot of fun. Looks rough on the outside sure, but inside is bright and clean. Great staff...and did I say cheap beers. Wonderful time and we will be back. So I have recently become somewhat of a frequent customer here. While Lisle Lanes is straight out of the 1970s and could totally benefit from a huge makeover, I love the fair prices and the experience I have. The drink prices are fair, the bowling prices are a steal, and the wait isn't too bad. Many nearby alleys (which are much more updated and stylish) are way overpriced and take 3-4 hours to secure a lane. The workers here are very friendly and hardworking. For anyone looking for a laid back, casual weekend or weeknight, stop by Lisle lanes. read more

I bowl in a league here and I like the lanes but I have a few complaints... First of all- the hours they post online are NEVER correct, on multiple occasions I have shown up during what the website says is business hours and they've been closed. I don't like the $10 minimum charge for credit cards and the "bartender" asked me how to make my drink.. I still like that it feels like an old fashioned bowling alley and the Pro at the Proshop is great. read more

Came in ready to bowl and was told we only had 20 minutes until close so we couldn't get a lane. However, Yelp said they were open for another hour. We had a drink, because we were there anyway, and watched a bunch of preteens continue their games until much passed the time we were told we could bowl. While lisle lanes does not have the most frills, nor the most family friendly attractions, it is definitely the best place to actually bowl in the western suburbs. The lanes are well maintained, always oiled, clean approaches, reliable pinsetters. It's also the most reasonable at $10 for 3 games pretty much all the time. Had a Groupon to use by the end of July. The day I was able to go, the alley was unexpectedly closed. I was fine with just using my expired groupon towards a fun night of bowling. I go early on a Saturday night and apparently there are leagues that are starting in an hour. The man working at the front desk was extremely rude and unkind. Have had numerous events at this location in the past, and have been satisfied with the experience. The food they serve here, in particular the pizza is disgusting so we were told we could bring alternative food. We have brought snacks, fruit and sandwich trays in the past with no problems. However on our last visit, for my 11 year old nieces birthday party, we were told by some young punk kid who apparently had some kind of chip on his shoulder, that no food or drink from the outside could be in. We had never had an issue with this before. We have used Lisle Lanes for birthday parties and girl scout outing, but since our experience with this man, we will no longer be using this venue.
