I've enjoyed eating here before, but this last visit was really disappointing. The service is hit-or-miss, and the workers didn't pay attention at all. My pizza only had sauce on half of it, and they added extra toppings I didn't want instead of just making a pepperoni pizza. To make it worse, they charged me for a two-topping pizza even though I only ordered pepperoni. I don't know the names of the staff, but if the service is this bad again, I'm just going to go to Izzo's instead. read more

I was being healthy and ordered the cauliflower crust make your own pizza. I was skeptical at first because cauliflower crust taste can vary on how it is made. This one was perfect! It was crunchy, and it didn't taste much different than a normal crust, to me. As for toppings, I got the pesto sauce with tons of cheeses, meat and some olives. It took them just a second to make and then they put it in the oven... which took about 4 minutes. After it comes out, you can top it with anything on the topping bar. During our visit to New Orleans we decided to take a day trip to Baton Rouge to catch a LSU game and were starving when we came upon Lit Pizza. I won't lie I am came with low expectations since I never been a fan of these built your pizza type of place, but I was completely blown away. We ordered the two pizzas, a plain cheese with Basel and one with half olives and half sausage. This is the conversation every time I go here. Why? Because it is a great pizza that is actually low-carb crust. Most places that serve cauliflower crust add cauliflower to the regular crust. If you check the cars it is basically the same as a regular pizza. Lit's cauliflower is not and it actually tastes great. The one drawback s you have to eat it with a fork and knife and your co-workers will make fun of you. If you can handle that, get you some cauliflower crust ya herd? I have also ventured off the reservation but keep coming back to the buffalo chicken. Want it to be really good, add ham and red onions. That s some next-level pizza right there. I really liked Lit Pizza. It's a new era and age for how pizza is getting done. Basically you can custom create a pizza how you'd like. You watch it being made and then they throw it in the brick oven for a few minutes. Lit Pizza is sort of like the Subway of pizza making, or for Asian fusion, like the place called Noodles & Company. This way...everyone gets what they want and how they want it. I appreciated the whole idea and premise for the process at Lit Pizza. And, this was my first time here or even at any sort of fast food/casual pizza joint like this. Just to back up a moment and give my usual ole extended story. I just finished exploring around Tiger Stadium. It was my first time to Baton Rouge, Louisiana as I was actually doing an SEC college football stadium exploration throughout the country. Might as well visit all the best football schools and they mostly all exist in the SEC, lol. So after hanging out at Tiger Stadium I was in the mood for pizza and discovered this Lit Pizza through Google Maps. It's terrifically located only 1 mile down the road from the school. Lit is situated in a shopping plaza. When I walked in around lunchtime it wasn't busy at all. They have a basic, simple menu posted on the wall. Prices were very very reasonable for creating your own custom pie. - $6 for a cheese pie. - $7 for 1 topping. - $8 for 2 toppings. - $8 for any signature crafted pizzas. I recommend going with one of these Lit Crafted Pizzas as you get a bunch of toppings and combination recipes all for one affordable price of $8. Then...they also list a bunch of their toppings including types of crusts, sauces, cheeses, proteins, veggies, finishers and drizzles. In all, Lit has almost anything you can think of. You can create your ideal dream pizza here and it doesn't cost much money. Although I got fortunate during my visit here that it was quiet...I can only imagine how busy this place can get with LSU being a huge school and this place located just a mile from campus. Btw, Lit also offers salads as well and even sells beer and wine. For me I just chose a fountain soda which was do it yourself and you can refill your drink as many times as you'd like. I chose for $8 the Crafted Pizza called..."Here Today, Gone to Maui"! Got to give them credit the name was pretty innovative. This pizza consisted of Lit red sauce, mozzarella, ham smoked bacon and pineapple. Basically your old fashioned Hawaiian pie...some may disagree but I love ham and pineapple pizza. With drink, tax and tip it came to around $12 - $13...in my opinion a very good deal for my own pie and unlimited fountain soda. I waited about 7 - 10 minutes for my pie to come out of the brick oven. My only drawback was...I would have appreciated the pizza being more well done. It was too lightly baked. I could have complained but for me it's no big deal. Also, after coming out of the oven the toppings were very scattered all over the pie and not consistently even. I don't know what happened. I guess during baking somehow everything moved in the oven. But overall, it's just a small issue. The pie was 6 slices but 11 inches around. That's a pretty big pie for just one person like myself. But...I felt like the pie ate small in that the dough is really a thin crust and not very thick. Or...maybe I was just very hungry, but I ate all 6 slices. I really enjoyed the pizza. Granted, it was underdone for my liking but it was very tasty regardless. Lol, I didn't hold back from eating it all. And I liked the unlimited fountain soda aspect as well. Finally, I visited here back last year during the heart of the pandemic and yet they still allowed for me to dine-in inside at one of the tables. That aspect was nice as I had all the access I wanted to the fountain soda machine plus I didn't have to eat in my car as that had become a regularity during my road trip around the country. I'm glad I stopped on by here and tried out Lit Pizza. I appreciated the entire experience watching my pizza being made and getting cooked in the brick oven. Prices were affordable and the pizza tasted pretty good that ultimately I left satisfied. I would definitely return here if I happened to live in Baton Rouge. My fave pizza in BR. It's a hard one but the balance of price and quality in this place makes me most excited to pick it up. Here's the deal! They have one size choose your own topping pizza and it costs the same no matter what you get on it. That's incredible. And the toppings are real high quality stuff with options you don't get at other take out pizza places. You can get vegan cheese, and it's the good stuff! I can't even tell it's not real cheese. You can get mushrooms, roma tomatoes, pesto, artichokes... I generally get a vegan pizza even though I'm not a vegan. It just tastes so good. My only complaint is sometimes the crust is too thin and some parts don't have sauce. Be careful though! If you check down the list and put every topping, they will put every topping. And it's a small pizza. So you will end up with an overloaded tostada type situation. I recommend a max of 6 toppings to keep flavor coherency. Use Subway rules. But if you're going for trying to get the most food... sure, just get 11 toppings and eat a pizza salad with a fork. I'm not judging! When Lit Pizza first came to Baton Rouge, I made sure that I went to try it. It was definitely well worth it. For 8 bucks, you can make your own pizza and add anything you want to it. It starts off with the meat, cheese, veggies, sauces, and even crusts. After it gets blasted in the oven, you can add more toppings to it like more cheese and more sauces. You can even add those sauces on the side in little containers. There's a lot you can actually get here since you can buy cookies, merchandise, and even get cups for some of their unique drinks. The service here has always been exceptional. I was never disappointed when I come here. The people make your pizza really quickly and usually give you a good portion of what you choose. The workers are always working and getting things done. The cashier is usually polite and kind. The post-blasting worker works quickly to get what you want on your pizza and get you out if there's a lot of people. Having great service and a self serve beverage and other additional toppings area is really nice. The leftover boxes are laid out and makes it easy for the customers to grab. The tables are usually clean and allows for you to sit and talk to others since the seats are not really separated into individual tables on the inside. It is definitely the place to pop by for a quick lunch break and leave. The taste of this place really depends on the person. You can make the most delicious pizza ever or the worst depending on your choices. The ingredients are all pretty fresh and taste pretty good. I used to love this location. The vibes were immaculate and the pizza slapped! At least, that's how it was last year... I recently visited yesterday for dinner and while the service was great and I was served quickly too, it was a little /too/ quickly. The meat on my pizza was barely browned and the pizza itself was quite soupy as a result of not being cooked long enough. I've been here a few times since being in Baton Rouge but this is my first time checking in and really rating the place. Here you can choose from regular or gluten free pies which I love. Gluten free pies are put on metal baking sheets to ensure there is no cross contamination which is amazing! You pick you pie type your sauces from pesto to white to regular or spicy red. You can even do bbq and mix them to really make your dreams come true. You then pick your cheeses there again is tons of variety and dietary conscious choice again score. We added this restaurant to the rotation during the pandemic. It's great for groups (however small) in case people have different preferences for pizzas. I absolutely love places where you can make your own pizza and it be put in a brick oven! However, the lit pizza on Burbank by far has the worst customer service EVER! The last two times I've gone in I've never been greeted or treated nicely. Two twins who took my order were very rude and rolled their eyes several times. And the most recent time I went, the worker looked annoyed at every topping I asked for on the pizza and then gave me a ranch with no lid. Another worker used their phone and then proceeded to grab my toppings with the glove they just touched their phone with. Decent food but terrible customer service that discourages me from going in. I ordered my pizza from what seems to be an illegal delivery company falsely using Lit Pizza's logo. I was wrongfully frustrated with Lit Pizza since I was unaware at the time that they do not do business with this company. The owner was kind & quick to respond to my post regarding my frustration. He also reached out via the messaging feature. I ordered the Localite, which was good. Great price. However, it was missing the jalapeños & andouille & contained mushrooms, which I had not requested. I understand had I been at the location they could have quickly corrected the mistake. Therefore my only complaint is that the vegetables were not cooked down well enough. I normally only like plain cheese pizza, but I tend to be more adventurous at LIT. My favorite pizza is the BBQ chicken... the combo of fresh pizza dough and tangy bbq sauce is delicious. It's lit! I visited LIT Pizza on Friday by accident. I actually planned on stopping at Taco Bell (I know, what a choice! lol) but when I pulled up they never took my order. Perfect for me because I like lots of veggies and meat on my pizza. There were lots of options for toppings and they looked very fresh.
