Good people. Great food. Prices are very modest. I could eat here every day of the week for months and not tire of it. The fried cauliflower is the "do not miss" item. But there is nothing bad at all on the menu. The service was very nice - the cashier was friendly and even let me try the different sauces they offered. They did mess up my order and then charged me to fix it. They had also tried to get me to buy more than I wanted to spend by repeating the additional cost after I had declined the first time. If I had known that I'd have had to paid the additional cost for my side because of the mishap, I would have ordered the combo after all. Previously I had ordered some Shawarma, and I really didn't care for it and found it bland. This last visit turned it all around for me! I tried the fried cauliflower appetizer, and it was the very best version of cauliflower I've ever had. It was smothered in delicious sauces, served over bits of lettuce, tomato, and some other goodies. It was jampacked with flavor, and I have to have it again soon. One of the best vegetarian things I've eaten in a while. I also had a beef Shawarma pita, and it was awesome and full of juicy ingredients and sauces. We got an appetizer plate of falafel and they nailed it! Great crispy outside and a soft fluffy inside. The more we look at the menu the larger our 'want to try' list gets with this place! The shop itself is basic but clean. If they're very busy you may have to wait for a place to sit, but they've put tables everywhere they can. The staff were very friendly. Now to the food, it looked yummy but we ended up having to toss all of what we ordered :( We ordered the fried cauliflower appetizer, the first bite I took was delish! But then the rest of it was covered in a very spicy sauce that the first bite didn't have. I did look at the menu and it did say it had a spicy sauce, that's my bad. However, my daughter ordered the old fashioned chicken shawarma sandwich that did NOT mention a spicy sauce. It was covered in the sauce and no eating around that. She can't do spicy at all. The wrap bread was delish. I ordered the chicken shawarma plate with rice. The rice was yummy and the chicken was as well, although it was smothered in a tahini sauce that I personally didn't care for. The tzatziki sauce was yummy. So this review is half & half. Wow this little gem was hopping! But SO worth the wait. I was so hungry I didn't get pictures, but there are a lot of pictures already. We got spanakopita, good flavor! We got Musakka, THAT was AWESOME!! I could have had that as a meal! My son got the chicken Kabob over rice which he loved! My husband and I shared the mixed shawarma with sides of hummus and baba ghanoush. The shawarma was a little dry for our liking, but flavors were good! For a place that is hidden amongst other places including a tattoo shop it's great for college campus Arabian cuisine. I might be a little harsh since it's good I grew up eating and have had it all over the world. Portions are big and they are tasty. Reading the menu is slightly confusing but the guy that you can tell is the son of the people who own it was very helpful. They didn't have lamb which is a big part of Arabic food and bummed we didn't get to try any. The chicken and beef was good just a bit over cooked made up for by the great rice and tahini sauce they have. The dolma (grape leaves) also big and delicious but we're slightly over cooked. Falafel were tiny but that might've been from the odd shape of them which didn't add the expected crunch was more like a soft vegetable ball. Desserts looked old and not very pleasing not much to pick from anyway. The amount of food you get is definitely a lot for such a cheap price. Going while college is on break made it easier. A harsher review for me but I expected a little bit better but that's just my take on the food and not having lamb at an Arabic restaurant was a star. That way I could have 2 of their best things. Falafel was the best. Musakka was oily and spicy. It tasted good. I also went for a lahambil ajeen. I though it was a flat pizza sort of thing. It was our first time at UConn thanks to an awesome Elite event at Jorgensen. We were hangry after the play and sought a place for an early dinner nearby and found Aladdin through Yelp! Thanks Yelp for the delicious find. My husband and I got the Little Aladdin Family Meal, which is huge and came with hummus, baba gannoush, a "family size" salad, loads of pita bread, 6 pieces of falafel, and 4 skewers to meat. We chose to get 1 lamb and 3 chicken skewers (no beef). The hummus, baba gannoush, and falafel were some of the best I've ever had, especially the falafel. It was delicately crunchy on the outside and soft and flavorful on the inside. Seriously the best. However, the salad was pretty basic, and for so-called family size, it was just a regular plate. Although the meats were very tender, I thought the seasoning was a bit bland. I wish the meal came with tzatziki sauce or a garlic sauce. I really appreciated the free tea, yum! Plenty of parking, single person bathrooms inside, and a decent amount of tables to sit and enjoy your meal. BTW, we ate in, and everything was served styrofoam plates. Our meal was huge so I wish we just asked for it to be packed to go to save having to repack everything! Overall, great meal. I'll be back for sure for falafel, hummus, and baba gannoush! read more

I don't know how he manages to remember my order, but he gets it right every time, a beef shawarma wrap with tahini and tzatziki sauce and zero spiciness, unless I'm feeling brave lol. I've had the chicken shawarma, the lamb wrap, a beef shawarma plate with hummus, and various other items at events. The hummus is awesome, I love the consistency of it. I personally don't like the lamb, but my sister loves it! The food tastes fresh, flavorful, and authentic. The restaurant is cute and offers free WiFi! They have vegetarian options with their appetizers and they also deliver food which is very accommodating for college students. This restaurant overcharges you by about 10%. I ordered a Vegan Bomb, listed on the menu (on the counter) for $8.99. The shop owner charged me $9.99, even though the printed price was $8.99. I feel cheated, and I paid under protest. I am never coming back to this place. Also, the storefront door has its hours posted as Every Day from 11:00 to 8:00.
