My weekend spot when i feel like eating healthy! okay...my two most favorite dishes, that i sometimes crave is roasted shrimp salad and crispy spirulina rice aka crack rice!! Im obsessed with these two. The shrimp is always a good size, grilled perfectly and juicy. They also aren't cheap about their ingredients, we get at least 6 jumbo shrimps on the salad, green raisins. Their salad dressing is the bomb, whatever it is, has some sort of nut i think. Spirulina rice...obsessed! I always get it with two sunny side up eggs, i think i will start asking for 3! The rice is crispy, fluffy and light, kind of taste like popcorn..but healthier? The mix is perfect! Their sweet potatoes i've had once, super sweet and juicy. I've tried their tacos, not a fan..very salty. We also tried their burger, the bread wasn't soft and overcooked meat, not juicy nothing to rave about. Latte was a bummer, they use nespresso pods, hope they get a real espresso machine soon! I usually walk over to Gregorys (literally two stores over) to get a latte before i get lunch at little beets. This gluten-free gem is so cozy. It's dimly-lit so it could be slightly formal but it also has a casual feel because of the communal tables so pretty much any attire goes. The food might seem a little pricy but in my opinion it is totally worth it. Every entree is prepared so carefully and perfectly. I never thought carrots could taste so good!! The beets are insanely tasty also. Last time I went my sister and I got a bunch of fun veggie apps (which did not taste nearly as healthy as they are) and then we split the Regatoni with tomato sauce. It was a lot more intricate that a regular penne dish there pieces of cheese and greens thrown into the mix making it super delicious. Excellent service and delicious vegetable sides. The fish entree was just okay. Next time I will just order more vegetables. We shared kale sprouts, sweet potatoes and charred broccoli and wished we had our own of all three. The cauliflower hummus was very nice and they were kind enough to bring us extra. The cod entree was over-cooked for both of us and managed to be dry while swimming in an oily sauce. However, it could have been an off night. Definitely worth another visit. read more

Everything we had was delicious: shrimp wraps (in lettuce leaves) endive/arugula salad roasted eggplant appetizer branzino pork carnitas tacos roasted mushroom side dish apple/cranberry crumble (this was delicious but their dessert menu is not very exciting -- our server told us they are going to have new desserts soon). This place is SUCH a little gem. My mom is a vegetarian so I was trying to find a place where she would have a lot of option. Coming forth as a shining vegetable beacon: the little best table. They specialize in gluten free foods but gluten eaters won't even notice. So many creative vegetable dishes and a few delicious meat options, and you won't leave there feeling heavy and unsatisfied. The service was wonderful and the interior was farmhouse minimalistic. We ordered the spiced almonds to start (wow!) and then the charred broccoli, Caesar salad, cauliflower hummus, and pork tacos. What an awesome dining experience. Atmosphere + Decor + Service = Excellence. I enjoyed this restaurant with a group of colleagues. The space was much larger than I expected. We were seated at a long wooden table which was completely on par with the restaurant's theme. They also had plenty of bar seating and tables for two. I had the Beet Soda as my beverage. I know what you're thinking...beets ewh! But it was really refreshing and I'm always looking for alternative avenues to get my daily recommended vitamins. Lol! I had the shrimp and chick peas and it was so gooood! I felt the pairing of the two was perfect. The group ordered several sides to share. I really enjoyed the brussel sprouts, roasted sweet potatoes and roasted broccolini. All of the food came out quickly and I heard no complaints from anyone. Each dish was so filling. I didn't even have room for dessert. I was impressed and this is definitely on my recommendation list for a visit to NYC. read more

Awful. I went to this restaraunt last night. We ordered the Cauliflower Hummus to start. What could be better? Cauliflower AND Hummus? It was dark brown and all you could taste was lemon. Not edible. I thought it was coming with bread and veggies. Turned out to be just bread. Veggies extra. I couldn't see that because the menu is small and poorly printed. Then we got the Bronzino. This was just GROSS! Tiny piece of fish surrounded by the most fennel ever to be served on one plate. Who eats raw fennel? A whole bunch of it? YUK! And a different form of fennel under the fish too. About the same size of the fish. We ordered a half portion of the cavatelli with green pea sauce. This was HORRIBLE too! Another dish that sounds good, but wasn't. All you could taste was the mint. And lastly the charred broccoli. Hopping or some simple Broccoli, it was covered in some mystery sauce and over burned. Very nice atmosphere but the food stinks. The rudest staff I have every encountered in a restaurant. The hostess was, without question, a nasty, unprofessional individual who made you feel like you were doing her a favor by dining there. If this is the face of the restaurant, not a good sign. My girlfriend and I were running late and we called them to let them know that we will be there about 15 minutes past our reservation time. The hostess then proceeded to say she's going to give our table away because we were late. I got there at 5:45 My girlfriend showed up shortly there after. We waited to be seated and had a drink at the bar. About 15 minutes later I approached the hostess and she said she gave my table away because we never told her we were ready. I explained that we were sitting at the bar and she saw us there. She couldn't care less. And, on top of that she was rude, disrespectful and condescending. Bottom line, don't waste your money. And if they gave the food away I wouldn't eat there anyway based upon the attitude of the staff in the restaurant. read more

This is a cute restaurant with tons of natural light, but I was disappointed in the Sunday brunch food. My friend and I were having trouble deciding, and the waitress told us that we couldn't really go wrong. Unfortunately, we found out we could from the combination of tasting our own orders and then seeing delicious-looking food delivered to other tables. The avocado toast ($17!) was a single piece of sandwich bread topped with what looked like straight avocado and a few imperceptible chili flakes, with a "side salad" of plain arugula and olive oil. The banana bread was good but not fantastic. Our advice? Order the veggie burger or the French toast instead. read more

Came here for a birthday celebration. Arrived and bought a cake for the birthday girl. When we informed the person seating the group, i assume the maitre d' of the establishment, he said we would not be allowed to cut the cake in the restaurant as it is a Gluten Free restaurant and the gluten from the cake will cling to the utensils and plates making the subsequent diners using them sick. We reluctantly agreed. After seating us, he told us he had to take the cake from us and place it away from the dining room. We handed it over and sat for dinner. The group ordered several dishes to share including the Japanese Sticky Rice, the Hummus, and the Guacamole. The sticky rice and hummus was excellent. The guacomole was nothing special. We then had our main dishes. I had the poach cod which was quite bland. My wife had the steak which was burnt on the outside. Not seared. But juicy within. The rest of the group enjoyed their main dishes though nothing stood out. Afterwards, we were informed that they can add a candle to a dessert if we purchase one for our birthday girl. As we had a cake already, we declined and asked for the bill and cake back. The maitre d' bought us back our cake, only this time wrapped in another shopping bag. We removed the bag as it would render holding the cake box troublesome. We were informed that the cake could not be kept out in only its box and after lingering for a few minutes to chat, we were asked to leave by the maitre d' as the cake was out. Overall, the starters overall were tasty and quite excellent. Our mains were pretty standard bought my cod was pretty substandard. The waitress was excellent. The maitre d' gave us an excuse full of bull crap and, as per the birthday girl, "made us feel like criminals for having a cake." read more

Been here a couple of times. The huevos rancheros plate is small. Two eggs with two corn chips out of a bag (what they call corn tortillas). It was appetizer size and not at all what a huevos rancheros should be. For 17 it is way overpriced. The mushroom and black bean burger tasted like it had been made days before. It was crunchy from being warmed up. One star for sweet potato side. This place is empty on days it should be packed. The service was good at least but I won't be coming back here. read more

I bring non GFers here but as someone win Celiac it's such a treat to be able to not worry about what I order but more importantly thy I can actually share plates with people! It's usually pretty easy to get a table for 2 on weekends around noon but randomly it will be packed and need a res. My go to is the banana bread and Benedict. I have heard many friends say they can't believe the banana bread is GF! Only gave it 4 bc sometimes the portions are halved and weirdly small but last few times i went my Benny was normal sized. read more

My husband and I can eat gluten and we were not aware that this place is strictly gluten free. I assure you - this is one of the best meals I have had in NYC, hands down. The only thing I missed was bread on the table. When we first arrived, the place was empty and although we'd had a reservation for at least a month, we were seated in the last table in the back - you know- by the bathrooms and kitchen. We asked if we could be moved up front near the windows and it was not a problem. The place quickly became packed. Our waitress was awesome, very friendly and helpful. We ordered an organic chicken and a fish dish with the Brussels sprout and sweet potato sides. Wow, everything was of highest quality and prepared perfectly. Definitely will return! Came with my boyfriend for an early Sunday night dinner and ate myself into an oblivion. The food was SO delicious, with fresh ingredients and tons of unique flavours. My personal favourites were the Cauliflower Hummus and the Beet & Chickpea Burger. Both were so good that I looked up similar recipes for both dishes online immediately after dinner! Despite how good the hummus and the burger were, the Strawberry-Rhubarb Crumble definitely stole the show that night. It was the perfect mix between sweet and tart; gooey and crunchy; and hot and cold. Yay for the first healthy Fashionplate at The Little Beet Table in the Flatiron/Gramercy area. I was beyond excited to try out this resto after hearing so many good things about and excited for delicious and healthy veggie heavy meal. We went on a weekday night and it was not crowded but all the better to have a nice conversation. We started off with some Campana cocktails which were spicy and tequila based and super yummy. We then proceeded to split the sweet potatoes, the roasted carrots with house made ricotta, and farmer's market salad. The salad was a good standard salad but the cooked veggies are out of this world. The carrots were divine as was the rich and creamy housemade ricotta that came with it that we got on the side as my dining companion is vegan and gluten free. The sweet potatoes had a nice spicy kick to it. We then moved onto our entrees, I was craving red meat so I got the LBT burger which was good and you couldn't even tell the bread was gluten free, the spicy mayo was a nice addition to the burger and fingerling potatoes. Dropped in at noon for a quick lunch ... the space is beautifully designed, airy, and gracious. We were seated towards the plant wall which featured a magenta flash and water appeared soon after. I got the grilled shrimp salad and he the chicken payard - I noted we were in a rush, and the salads arrived within 10 minutes after. They were delicious and I didn't leave a thing on the plate. Mine was particularly divine, given the notes of spice on the almonds, the sweetness of raisins, and a v light dressing of vinaigrette. At $19, this was steep and we were there for just half an hour, but it was well executed and I will be back to try the rest of the menu. read more

Found this place on Yelp at the beginning of December for brunch on a Saturday. They have the best gluten-free french toast I have ever had! I had ordered the fresh fruit with coconut cream (which was also fantastic) and my husband had ordered the french toast. I only got a few bites before he finished but I am still dreaming about it. And I sure hope the bartender doesn't get fired as a result of my sharing his kindness here--which seems like it's a real possibility based on the cameras everywhere. (Big Brother watching can't do much to instill morale among staff....) Hannah our server was a true delight. Friendly fun and most importantly helpful with the menu and wine selections. We shared the prosciutto flatbread, the beets, and the broccoli and my friend had the salmon while I had the skirt steak. (Grass fed!!) Everything was delicious. Frustrating start at the bar aside--UTTER UNNECESSARY RIP OFF!--in the end, I couldn't have been more pleased. Tip for the management: let the bartenders pour straight drinks. We went to Roosevelt field and at the food court I spotted this place. I was skeptical since it was my 1st time ordering - the food was delicious! I had my own meal I chose half avocado with a sesame seed for the protein, I had the brown rice the sweet potato the broccoli, I also had the tahini with the almonds or the nuts, and the salsa verde OMG it was amazing. I wish I could cook this good! The salsa verde is spicy even though they tell you it's not but it gives it a kick if that's what you're looking for. I would definitely keep coming to this place whenever at the mall or at anywhere else would I would see it. read more

Amazing! Went last night with a couple of colleagues and was very impressed - would never have guessed that it was gluten free. I tried flatbread and pasta and definitely didn't feel like I was comprising on taste at all. My favorite dish was probably the tomato flatbread - the flatbread was crispy and well seasoned, and tasted very fresh. I'd also highly recommend the salmon, which was cooked perfectly and served over pistachio pesto (which sounds like a weird concept but worked really well). (And I absolutely recommend the sheep's milk cheesecake, but that may also be because I am a huge sucker for cheesecake and dessert in general.) The cocktail menu is small but unique - I had a super refreshing gin and cucumber juice drink. Portions are on the smaller side, and nothing's too heavy. The ambiance would make it a great date spot - there's exposed brick, candles on the tables, and really cool artwork on some of the walls. A really cute spot when you want a nicer-than-Pret weeknight dinner, but don't want to leave Midtown. The Little Beet's menu is tasty and flexible; you can order a bunch of smaller plates to share (the appetizer choices are plentiful and not at all an afterthought) or larger entree portions. It's a great choices for vegetarians, as well, as many of the menu options are veg-based or have the option to add animal proteins. There's a nicely-sized bar area if you're looking for liquid courage without the rowdy environment. My one gripe: they wouldn't seat me until my friend arrived, even though the restaurant was mostly empty and we had a reservation. It's a policy I totally understand when a restaurant is walk-in only or if it's a busy night, but otherwise, why give your customers a hard time? read more
