Continuing on my trek of restaurant's on Main St in Tarrytown NY- I went to a place called little b's. It was packed. Hmm, I wonder why? All the tables were taken except for one in the middle of the dining area. No thanks I'll pass. So I sat at the bar. The bartender was super friendy and I was given a menu and a build your own burger form to fill out ( photo included). I had a lamb burger w smoked gouda, carmelized onions, pickles etc with onion rings- truffle mayo on the side. It was delicious! I was blown away! The grill taste was spot on, wow. The fries were super crispy- tasted similar to five guys fries but better and longer frie size . The onion rings, crispy , light and not heavily breaded. Could have use a nice sour pickle on the side. Why doesnt anyone put sour pickles on burger platers anymore? In NYC that was the best. Every counter stool had unlimited pickles . We had dinner here and it was good. Their beer selection is great, lots of local and US craft beers here. Good selection on tap too. I had the Fiddlehead IPA which was excellent. We all had sandwiches which come in a basket with your choice of fries. I had the french dip which was good and the parmesan fries. Wifey had the cuban sandwich, of which I had a bite, also good. I came back with Raymond because I really liked it the last time I came; the make-your-own-burger is pretty fun, and the options are generous and diverse. I was kind of overwhelmed by the sauce options, though, and we ended up picking roasted garlic mayo and jamaican jerk. That combination might not have been the best, oops. :p We got a brioche bun with bison, caramelized onions, roasted peppers, mushrooms, avocado and jalapeno jack cheese (in addition to those sauces I just listed). I was thrilled that our waitress asked if we wanted it cut in half; I HATE cutting burgers in half (probably the main reason we don't get burgers as much as we'd like) and it was perfectly cut when we got it. Like ... straight edge and everything, nothing spilling out. I was super impressed. Raymond took his stick out and had difficulty; I kept my stick in and everything stayed together. :D We also got a half dozen buffalo wings and the truffle fries to share, and that was definitely a very filling meal for the two of us. We just got the second level of spiciness (Raymond usually gets the highest level); it was definitely spicy to me, and I think I could've gone for higher. Raymond would've preferred spicier. It was a Sunday afternoon and my friend and I was in a mood to eat a burger, I heard a while ago that this place has great burgers, so we decided to give it a try. We sit down in the bar to be closer to the beers drafts and the bartender was our server, he give us a lots of he suggested a few things from the menu, but when he knew we wanted to try the burger he told us that we could build our own burger and that way we can add or subtract anything we want. He did a great job to serve us and give us good suggestion. My chose was bison, Mozzarella for the cheeses tomato, iceberg lettuce, bacon avocado, chipotle mayo, chipotle ketchup and hand cut fries with crumbled bacon. The burger bison was big, perfectly cooked and had an amazing taste, the fries were very good and the touch of bacon give that extra touch. Went to Little B's before seeing a show at the Tarrytown Music Hall. There were 4 tables open, not a seat at the bar and I had to wait 27 minutes to be seated. Although the wait staff was very friendly, I was told that 2 people could not sit at a 4 top table. Generally I would understand this, however there were many 2 -four tables and 2 6 tables open. I explained that I was headed to a show and would be quick. They were not able to seat me until a 2 table became available. So, now with no seats at the bar I had to stand at an empty 4 table for a half hour. The food was great but not worth the dysfunction. My boyfriend and I came at 3pm on a Saturday. The place was packed but we got the last table. The waitress was quick to come over but was very cold and never even smiled. I ordered a veggie burger with toppings (no bun) and a side salad. The veggie burger was bland but the toppings saved it. The side salad was just eh- very oily or whatever dressing they used it was just too much. My boyfriend got a regular burger with a regular bun and the Parmesan truffle fries and it was amazing according to his standards. When we were pretty much done a different waitress asks us how our meal was which is like why bother coming over if we're basically done at that point? When it was time to pay all the little things added up quickly and for two of us to eat it was $45 which is annoying because I left hungry. The waitresses took FOREVER to pick up our card for us to pay, all the staff walked by us at least 4 times and didn't pick up the bill for us!!!! I don't think you should come here if you're trying to be healthy by ordering salads and veggie burgers and expecting exceptional service. I really like Little B's myself, but I know a lot of my friends and family members do not enjoy it as much as I do. I usually get a fried chicken sandwich and bacon Mac and cheese which is so good. You can build your own burger, sandwich, or salad. You can also just order from the main menu. I usually get a lemonade but have found recently that it tastes a little funky. If you do not eat meat it will be hard to find an option that suits you. The service is overall pretty good, especially since it can get very busy. I would recommend if you are a big burger/American food fan but if you are not, you won't be missing much by skipping a visit to Little B's. read more

Though casual and comfortable the restaurant is well maintained and clean. Even on busy weekend nights staff manages to keep up its professionalism remaining friendly and attentive throughout your whole dining service. Staff pays attention to its customers and needs. A couple was seated outside on a hot summer evening with their dog and the tall server in a baseball cap with wavy hair brought out a dish of water for the dog without the couple even requesting a water dish. Serving staff, kitchen staff and bar staff work in junction with each other to deliver orders to tables quickly without sacrificing quality. I feel bad giving a negative review because the staff are an absolute delight and the drink options are great but yea... the food is really bad. Not great for large parties. They squeezed a party of nine into two tables with one side up against the wall. We had to sit with chairs touching, elbow to elbow. We decided to skip the starters and desserts as we would not have enough table space, nor did we want to stay too long. And it's annoying when there were clearly open tables they could have added to give more space. I don't think they would enjoy eating so tight and I don't think they should treat customers that way. That said, I do think their food did get better, however, this time burgers were burnt, but chicken sandwich was fine. Not So Little. It is a small, bistro like joint that is big with food and vibe! I forgot our host who was as nice of a young man as can be. Had me laughing while we waited inside on a very cool night. Our waitress Carla (who was very busy with full tables) was as pleasant and easy going as we went thru our choices. The wings (garlic parm) were perfect - juicy, not dry and very well balanced with garlic, parmesan and seasoning! Our pollo locos were so well done that I should have ordered a couple more. I wasn't gonna give a review but I kept thinking about how bad this burger was and needed to write it down. So, I will say that I think maybe the reason it was bad was because of what I put in the burger, but I was just trying to recreate a burger from Zinburger that I really love...so idk. Anyway, my burger was more pink that I wanted it to be, and they didn't ask how we wanted it cooked, so I completely forgot about that until I got my burger and it was rarer than I usually eat. I got blue cheese, caramelized onions and mushrooms in it, and the burger was so soggy and wet, it fell apart within a few bites. It just wasn't an enjoyable burger. Not my favorite burger place, but it does okay for the random cravings. They have a model similar to other burger joints - like Bare Burger - where they have preset burgers as well as the option to build your own. I don't remember exactly what I had, but I chose a preset burger because even though the 'choose your own' burger starts off with a base price of $10, each additional fixin' is an up-charge of 50cents, INCLUDING tomatoes and lettuce. There were a ton of toppings I wanted - in particular, the sauteed mushrooms and onions - so the preset burger was the way to go, and I think the price would have probably come out the same whether or not I chose all the toppings on my own. Burgers come with a side of fries or salad. From what I remember, the burger was decent. The medium was a little overcooked though, because I remember the meat being quite dry, even with all of the toppings that I had. The fries were a tiny bit limp as well, but it was a filling meal. Service was mediocre and the food took longer than I would have expected for a burger joint. Our waitress wasn't particularly attentive either, but this might have been because of the day. Verdict? Located in the cutest little part of town, Little B's is a very local, friendly hotspot with a menu that will absolutely blow your mind. Beer choices are AWESOME. Only negative was they were out of the first two choices I asked for. Bummer. But no worries since there were a ton I wanted to try. Bartender was attentive and present even with the rush of the lunch crowd. Things took a turn for the worse pretty much right away when we were told it would be a 30 minute wait (for party of 5) which actually turned into an hour wait. After waiting in the cold for about 40 or so minutes I noticed they sat a party of three people who had been waiting for about 10 minutes outside, distributed among two separate tables. Ever hear of pushing two tables together to accommodate a larger party who had been waiting three times as long? And where an extra seat could be easily added to the end of a table as opposed to seating only one person at a two-person table and not even utilizing the second seat? Both my friend and I have been in the restaurant industry before and found it odd that they would have done that. By the time the one hour mark was approaching we were all getting pretty restless and for good reason. My buddy popped in to talk to the guy in charge of seating people, came out a minute later and said they were clearing out a table for us. At that point I had the revelation that we could've driven back to the city (we're from NYC) and gone to a restaurant where we wouldn't have had to wait (we were planning on driving back after dinner anyway) in the amount of time that we wasted waiting thus far. So apparently they had heard of the concept of adding extra chairs to seat more people at a smaller table because that's exactly what they did. Because of this it meant that...a) I had to scrunch my legs the entire meal so that I wasn't sticking out into the one narrow pathway for people to walk and so I wasn't pushing up against anyone else at my table and..b) that everyone who wanted to get from one side of the restaurant to the other was knocking into my back when they went past me. Now we're onto the service; it took the server 10 minutes to come over to the table to take our drink orders once we sat down which I think was a bit ridiculous considering there were at least 4 wait staff on shift and the restaurant isn't that big. But anyhow...Just about the only good that came from the hour wait to get in was is it gave us ample time to read over the menu and figure out exactly what we wanted. About 5 minutes later the waitress comes back with the drinks and all 4 sodas are flat. After dropping off the drinks our server disappeared for a good 20 minutes when she returned with the mac and cheese. She took the drinks back and said she would check. Another 10 minutes goes by and she brings 4 allegedly new sodas and instead of waiting and seeing if these ones were all right she disappears again and lo-and-behold, these sodas were flat too. So we flag down the guy in charge of seating tables and tells him about the sodas and just says, "Make sure you take them off the bill". So now I'm the only one with a drink other than water and saw that they were still bringing sodas to tables. You'd think in this situation you would make it clear that there was a problem would say that the sodas aren't available rather than keep on serving something that you know isn't of good quality to customers, but nope. The mac and cheese was decent and on par with Kraft (which I like) but a little less intense and definitely not worth all the rave reviews or even the $6 for something I could get 3-4 boxes of for the same price. So the burgers come and I have to say that they were the best part of the meal. Mine was cooked perfectly and was tasty- about on par with Bareburger but again, nothing to write home about and certainly not worth waiting for an hour in the cold for. Everyone else enjoyed theirs as well. We finished and got a hold of the waitress and asked for the check, which took another 10 minutes to arrive. They did split the check in two and my buddy and their cousin gave two cards. Instead of waiting forever for someone I just grabbed the book everything was in and walked it back and said, "We need this processed now". They did process one card but came back and said, "Uhh, you wanted it split in two but where do you want the other bill charged to?" implying that there was only one credit card. My buddy got furious and we had to explain and then show him that there was a second credit card in the book they used to carry the cards/checks over in. What was meant to be a chill, relaxing end to an awesome day turned into an unnecessary headache because of people dropping the ball. My buddy insisted on paying for my portion for driving everyone around and snatched the check from me so I don't even know how much mine cost but even if there are only 3 other restaurants open in the area, I know I could have found better and I'm certain that you can as well. read more

I am in love with this place!!! Appetizers was Mac and cheese with bacon, yummmmy and wings with Thai chilly sauce another great flavor!!!! Beer selected is very nice and variety. Been here many times and have never been disappointed in the food or the service. We love this place. I'm currently using a scooter to get around with my right foot in a cast, so we're memorable. We went here two Sundays in a row. The entire staff is really lovely. Friendly and helpful if you need anything. My husband has built his burger both times- if you like a little kick to your bacon, then get the honey sriracha bacon! The burger itself is super flavorful and was done (medium) to perfection both times. Many places with lots of toppings use them to hide inferior burgers, not Little B's! I have ordered 3 different sliders now: baconator, little brat and the crabby. All were delicious. The brat is nice and spicy! The onion rings here are really good. We've also tried some tater bites -- these were more like deep fried mashed potatoes. Delicious but the large order is probably better split between 3 or 4 people as more than a couple is very filling. We live local enough that we'll be back, even if we don't stay in the area again. I can't believe this is the first time I've checked in here on yelp. I try and go every time I'm in Tarrytown. There are loads of restaurants we have never gone to because I prefer to build my own burger at Little B's. Seriously. The regular fries are amazing. We've tried the truffle parm fries only to go back to regular fries every time. The Maple Mayo is fantastic (I ordered it with my fries this time, yes you can request sauces/condiments on the side to dip fries in). The service was great, the beer selection was great, and the prices were very reasonable for Tarrytown. But I want to make a request: Please, please, take the buttermilk fried chicken sandwich off the menu. There is no buttermilk, and the chicken wasn't fried. It was a Tyson frozen patty that someone threw in the microwave for 90 seconds.
