Great local Chinese food takeout restaurant. Food is always great, fresh and tasty. Management and staff is courteous, friendly and professional. Dining area is small but good if eatinConveniently located in the Mandarin Central Shopping Center. Online orders: www.LittleChinaJacksonville.com

    General Tso's Chicken

I'd give a 3.5 if possible but the pros far outweigh the cons so I rounded up. The chicken wasn't tough or chewy like you might get, it was very tender and moist. We paid $30 for 2 meals but I would rather pay $30 dollars than pay cheaper elsewhere for worse quality. My biggest gripe was the allspice in the general tso chicken, but even though I'm not a fan of allspice it wasn't a dealbreaker.

Sweet & Sour Chicken Soggy batter

Food was alright, I ordered dumplings, crab Rangoon, egg drop soup and the sweet and sour combo. My sweet and sour combo batter wasn't cooked all the way through it also was a little greasy, we didn't care for the dumpling sauce was, it tasted more like oyster sauce then the normal dumpling sauce, but we're not eating that because everyone has different tastes. The service was super quick, we put in the order maybe 15-20 min before we got there and it was already done

Always exceptional service and food. This restaurant is one of the hidden gems in Mandarin. There is a small ding room that needs a renovation you wont be disappointed. It is near the intersection where 295 and Old St Augustine meet. I love the rib tips with pork fried rice. My better have will just eat the chicken wings with plain fried rice. Today, I got the sweet and sour chicken with pork fried rice and a shrimp roll! Until next time, Little China! Delicious

Yum both times I ordered, first was kung pao chicken, and 2nd was moo shu pork. Egg rolls are good as well.

Orange chicken, chef specialty. Comes with white rice (not shown). Upcharge if you want fried rice or lo mein.

So I was bad today. I wanted Chinese food and I was too lazy to cook, but I was starting to get tired of my regular places, lol. I wanted to try a new place and found Little China on Yelp. Yes I checked out the reviews and photos, but it was my risk for wanting to still order from them. This is the first and most likely the last time I will order from Little China. I got the orange chicken specialty, some wings and fries, and a shrimp roll. The shrimp roll was interesting, think of it as a spring roll and crab Rangoon hybrid. Not bad, but... different. Fries are just your standard fries with no salt, which in fact is how I like them because I like to control the saltiness and add to my hearts content. The chicken wings were ok, the kind you'd expect from a Chinese place. Now the orange chicken does not taste like orange chicken at all. Their menu indicates that it is spicy, but it was not spicy at all. It didn't even have any orange peels like other places do, and I don't taste any orange flavor. It tasted more like sweet and sour chicken drenched in sauce. My receipt did say orange chicken on it, so I guess that is their version of orange chicken. Service was friendly, my order was ready in a good amount of time. Stars for that. Well, at least I tried them. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing. If I get a hankering for something else on the menu, I may order from Little China again. But NEVER AGAIN on the orange chicken.

This is a perfect example of this awful food. We ordered chow mein and it looked like it was covered in male reproductive fluid.

There has been a change in the quality of food . Very little sauce on everything , and what sauce there is is tasteless.

Little China was pretty good. My fiancé loved his dish. Mine was just ok but I had white sauce on the side so it's hard to tell.

We had a large room to ourselves which was nice but most of our group was sweating with how warm it was in there. The server was nice and food came out quickly. Food wise- individual meals can be ordered but we ordered a variety of items and all shared. My favorites were the Singapore rice noodles and the bbq pork fried rice. We tried a few varieties of dumplings- some baked and some steamed with a variety of meat (pork, shrimp, etc) plus soup dumplings. I don't know if I had a favorite. They were good but none stood out to me as the best. We also got some more dessert-type items at the end- pineapple buns, red bean buns, baked egg tarts, etc. The red bean ones were my favorite- really good flavor. Overall, it was a fun experience. I would go back for other group dinners and do the family-style meals again.

The chicken was burnt and looked completely different from what I expected based on the only teriyaki meat photo they have listed on the app. Yes, I understand the picture says beef sticks and I ordered chicken, but I still expected the chicken to be prepared in a similar style, not looking like it barely escaped a house fire. Even though I ordered delivery, I personally drove back up to the restaurant with my plate and explained that I was disappointed. I asked if they could either remake it or let me switch it for something of equal or lesser value. I specifically asked for the boneless spare ribs combination plate, which was the same price. Instead, I was offered either a discount or for them to remake only the meat, throw away the rice, clean out the same plate, and put the newly made meat back in it. :/ The young lady also explained that they offer the chicken teriyaki sticks as a combination platter, but not the regular chopped chicken teriyaki with sauce, which is actually more of what I was looking for. That can only be purchased by itself. I even had to show her the options listed on Uber Eats, which made the whole situation even more confusing. Honestly, this could have been avoided if the regular chicken teriyaki was offered as a combination platter on the app or if the menu made the difference clearer. As for the advertised photo versus what I actually received? Straight up catfish. I should've called Nev. The picture shows glossy, properly cooked teriyaki meat. Mine looked like it had been left on the grill during an emergency evacuation. I've been coming here for the past few years and have never had an issue before. I've always spoken highly of this place and recommended it to other people, which is exactly why this experience was so disappointing. It definitely left a nasty taste in my mouth. Or maybe that was just the burnt chicken teriyaki.

They're at 10586 Old St Augustine Road in Mandarin with a nice size parking lot so their location is great and parking isn't a concern. I'll get to the food in a minute but I'll start by saying that before we opened our fortune cookies at the end, I jokingly said "I hope one of these says 'you will get your original Facebook account back". They didn't say that but I included a photo of both because I feel like they're close enough As far as food goes, we split the Peony Sampler for an appetizer and loved it. It definitely did it's job as a sampler because now we know we like all of their appetizers and would order any of them on their own in the future. I ordered Egg Drop Soup after that because it's a favorite of mine. I always add a little salt to their version of it but I add salt to a lot of soups so that may just be a "me" thing. I had the Sweet & Sour Pork with Fried Rice for my entree, which is the same things had last time and it's still great. Between the appetizer and the soup and the entree, I was hoping to have enough to take home for lunch tomorrow and I definitely did. My wife had the General Chicken. She really liked the sauce because it was sweet but has a little bit of spicy kick to it. She said the same thing I said about the chicken itself; she loved that it was big pieces of juicy white meat. She was also surprised by how much she liked the broccoli which made for one of those things where you could get a bite of everything at once. She also had a lot to take home, so she's happy with that too. Thank you again to the person who posted about Peony in the group recently. We had a great lunch thanks to your reminder.
