I would call this place a very light meal, the view is super nice, it's a bit windy but pleasant. I had the chilli dog and prawns and fries, it was okay.. the breading on the lawns I think it was panko not my favorite but just the same code came out hot and with a short period of time. I also got some kind of weird coffee and ice cream, it was a cool refreshing drink besides my Diet Coke. I noticed a lot people got ice cream and I wonder if they would offer soda floats they just needed cups , I would definitely down for that they could put it on their "secret" menu, they have ice cream and soda so it would be hard to make

Was in the area with my partner and we decided to grab a quick bite here since I've always noticed this little stand when going to Golden Gardens Park. We both got the Hot Dogs which were about $6.59 (pre-tax). Not going to lie, that's a hefty price for such a small dog they sell. But I will have to admit that they do taste a lot better than a Costco Food Court hot dog. But the price comparison is quite stark. I would try the other items again if I'm on the way to visit the park, but I wouldn't come here for any other reasons. It's a pretty area though, so in a way you might be paying a bit more for a view, but that's about all there is to it.

Such a cute little spot !! Oldies music playing while sitting there watching the moats come in and out so pretty and food is pretty good also

I haven't had the actual food here so I'm rating the place on their soft serve. This is a cute little joint in a perfect beach spot making it the perfect meal when enjoying time at this beach! It was a super sunny day and I was craving something small and sweet and saw Little Coney and had to give it a try. The place is a small little spot with a walk up window where you order your food. I ordered a kids size twist cone and they handed it to us immediately. The price was a little steep but it was exactly what I was craving and hit the spot on a hot day. The soft serve was super creamy, and obviously very high quality which is hard to find. I definitely enjoyed my time here and would recommend if you looking for food or a treat on a hot day!

    Awesome Affogatos!

Dropped by just before closing time and had two affogatos- espresso poured over soft serve ice cream. Service was fast and efficient- line moved smoothly. All the diners around us sounded happy. Will be back next time we visit Golden Gardens!

Best hot dogs in Seattle since 1956. You will need a knife and fork. Quality beef dogs with fire chili sauce. What caught my eye was the waving hot dog man. Will be back.

You're definitely paying for the views more than the food. The food is pretty typical standard burgers and dogs, and they're okay. Of course you can get a Costco dog with a drink for a $1.50, but they're not located near the water and if you want one, bring a Costco dogs here. But the prices are steep, nonetheless. $6 for a hotdog? Worker is quick and you can't miss this place with their giant waving hot dog inflatable.

    Sundae!
    Jackie E.

Went here yesterday for a little treat. Ordered a kids size chocolate ice cream in a bowl and a sundae. Total for both was around $10. Portion size was plentiful! Was a little disappointed that the sundae had just chocolate syrup and not hot fudge, however it satisfied our soft serve fix regardless. Will more than likely return for that reason! Also, service was prompt and friendly and they took their safety precautions seriously - separating the staff from the patrons, utilizing sliding trays to deliver contactless delivery and having hard plastic barriers between.

Menu. Simple and enough for a day at the beach
    Esperanza D.

We didn't have any expectations for this place so we had a good experience in general. This is a burger joint not fancy at all with a nice view, good for a quick snack, coffee for rainy days or ice cream in the summer. Their menu is very simple, nothing out of this world but good enough to satiate our hunger. FYI if you need more details about their combos, ask them to show you their printed menu. They've one bathroom for customers only. No changing table though

    Hilarious.

I asked for iced tea, the server flatly said "We don't have that". I asked for a coffee, same response, "we don't have that". No offer of a substitute, the interaction felt robotic. I had water. Not having iced tea is or coffee at a restaurant open for lunch on the weekend is weird. Snap Pea and Arugula salad was ok. dressing was understated. I would not order again. Airwaves square pizza tasted great! Different style than any other pizza I have ever had. Crust is essentially focaccia without the good part of focaccia (salty, oily, herb-y) toppings seemed pretty skimpy. The pie was unique and I enjoyed it. I felt that the portions were pretty small, a small pie does not feed 2 people. The food was good, but Sunny Hill is not a good value. I have no problem dropping $50 on a pizza (in Seattle) if it is excellent, but this did not meet the premium price point.

Fresh on our Detroit-style pizza binge, our first since moving away from Detroit, we chose Sunny…read moreHill for our next stop. We walked in right after they opened for a Saturday lunch and were the second group seated. Crunchy Cauliflower ($18) - Amazingly robustly crunchy breading surrounding a tender roasted cauliflower inner core. It's so evenly breaded and adheres so well to the moist interior that it almost seems like a commercially breaded frozen cauliflower. But these have to be homemade, right? They are sprinkled with a chili crisp-esque aleppo oil, which is dry rather than oily, and has a bit of sweetness to complement the heat. It's all on top of a super creamy and thick cashew and cilantro sauce. It's fresh and nutty, and really delicious. (5/5) Now onto the pizza. Taken from another of my reviews: there are several characteristics that define Detroit-style. Firstly, the base must be a thinner and chewier focaccia dough-like crust, pillowy on the interior and with a crispness on the bottom and sides that are somewhat greasy but not overladen*. There must be flavorful Wisconsin brick cheese (or blend), buttery and fatty, melted on top and spread until it spills over the sides of the crust, creating a crisp caramelized frico ring surrounding the pie. The pepperoni must be underneath the cheese**, and the flavorful tomato sauce, typically in several wide lines, is spread atop the cheese. There must not be too many toppings to prevent the crust from compressing and ruining the texture. *Note 1: The fat/grease is very important, both to allow the crust to crisp up and to act as a hydrophobic layer to prevent sogginess. **Note 2: This is the one trait I dislike since it makes the pepperoni limp and soaked with grease. Loyal w/ Pepperoni, 4-Square ($31) - Before I get started, I have to say that the pricing for the 4-Sq vs 8-Sq is bizarre. In no world should an 8-Sq pepperoni pizza be $56. Not to mention it's actually MORE expensive than the 4-Sq on a $ per square inch basis! And you get 4 less corners? People pay a premium at Jet's for their 8 corner pizza! I'm sorry, for a value proposition, this pizza gets a big fat zero. Usually Detroit-style take a while come out, typically 20+ minutes, often over 30 minutes. This one took less than 15, which I found very curious. Surprisingly, the pizza actually comes cut into four slices instead of six, unlike pretty much everywhere else on the West Coast. It looks picture perfect, with the two saucy racing stripes across the top and a superior lacy frico crust along all edges. It's seriously a sight to behold, one of the more perfect Detroit-style pizzas I've seen in a long time. It's after lifting a slice up that things start to unravel, at from a traditional technical perspective. Instead of baking the toppings on raw dough, Sunny Hill seems to either par or fully bake the crust before adding toppings, then bake again. This means the crust doesn't fully meld with the toppings, resulting in a crumb that's extremely airy and light and a taste that's somewhat disparate rather than harmonious. It's more akin to focaccia with toppings rather than pizza. And yet this allows the base to be fully fried on all sides, lending a superior buttery browned flavor. Unfortunately this method of assembly causes an issue - the frico literally slides off the bread. Even before picking up a slice, I could see it separating from the dough and melted cheese bleeding through. The top is a little more forgiving, so the melted mozzarella and brick cheese mixture does manage to mostly adhere. Speaking of the brick cheese, it really does make a huge difference in flavor. This blend is miles better in flavor complexity and fattiness as compared to most Detroit-style places around here that use pure mozzarella or a blend without brick cheese. The sauce is very good as well. It's balanced between sweetness and acidity, spiced just enough to add flavor but still keep the fresh zing of a great tomato sauce. On top of the sauce, the pepperoni is charred and cupped. It seems to be carefully applied so there aren't too many overlapping pieces. This ensures the pizza doesn't become too salty, which is really appreciated. Value-wise this pizza is terrible. $31 is the most I have ever paid for a 4-sq pizza. Heck, it's more than I've paid for many 8-sq pizzas. Luckily for Sunny Hill, I don't usually include value in my ratings, but I was seriously considering dropping the score here. (5/5) I think with this pizza, traditionalists will cry afoul. People who are more open minded will accept that this is a delicious pizza regardless of all the flaws. I'm in the latter group, although with a caveat: What Sunny Hill serves is emphatically not Detroit-style; It's a great Detroit-style-Inspired focaccia with toppings. Bathrooms - Two unisex rooms.

Dessert was their chocolate chip cookie and house made vanilla ice cream. Though they can serve them ala mode, I think it's better separately as the ice cream won't melt on the warm cookie. We knew they were known for their karaoke nights, but had no idea we stumbled into one until the host announced it shortly after we arrived. Well, let's just say it was a BLAST and probably the best run karaoke event in the city. One of the Waterwheel's own bartenders even sang a song which brought the house DOWN. After a year and a half of the pandemic, a crowded bar with happy vibes and lots of cheering and clapping felt so good. What was also good: the drinks. I saw they had house cocktails so I ordered the Spaghetti Western (rye, Cynar, angostura) and the Patsy Cline (their house lemonade mixed with huckleberry syrup and some kind of alcohol, forget which). My partner got his dive bar favorite, a beer from Seapine. The bartenders were friendly, efficient and took good care of everyone from start to finish. Also, the place was clean and had ample seating. We loved the 70s aesthetic with the wood paneling inside and astroturf outside. Definitely grab a seat inside if you're looking to participate in the karaoke nights (or just watch like we did). The crowd was a great mix of ages and backgrounds, which made for a fun song selection. My only wish is that they would go back to serving food in-house (even just fries), because I heard really good things about their brunch and late night menus. But I guess during COVID they have a partnership going on some days with local Mexican pop-up El Xolo. I hear it's pretty amazing so I'll have to check that out soon!

The music is great, the sound system is fantastic, and (best of all) the crowd is over-the-top amazing. When I sing karaoke, I like everyone to think I'm Beyonce herself slinging out the tunes on the main stage. Of course, I'm no Beyonce. In fact, I can barely hold a tune. But you wouldn't know it 'cuz this crowd is on FIRE. They dance. They cheer. They sing along. They make you feel like you should be touring the country with your latest rendition of "Take on Me" or other long-ago tunes. The Waterwheel also has an impressive selection of good beer on tap, strong drinks, and deadly jello shots. Getting a little warm after belting out the hits? Their outdoor seating area is great too! At 11:30, there wasn't much of a line and the employees started opening more registers to get our order in faster. They seem to have everything prepped and assembled already rather than cooking to order, so this is more fast food rather than traditional drive-in. It took literally 10 or 15 seconds for the cashier to grab all the food and hand it to us. To be honest, I wouldn't call this a drive-in in the first place since the window is walkup and there's no car hop service. Deluxe Burger ($5.75) - This is a pretty simple (small) burger with two patties, cheese slightly melted on top, and a small layer of shredded lettuce, mayo, and pickle relish underneath. The patties aren't charred much so they just taste like a normal fast food burger patty rather than having any caramelized goodness. The pickle relish is overpoweringly sweet and only slightly tangy. It makes the bottom layer a bit on the runny side. I would never get the relish on a burger again - it honestly ruins the flavor of the entire meal. (3/5) Fries ($2.95) - The fries come out softened like they've been steamed a bit perhaps. I wonder how long they had been sitting around before being served to us. There's no crisp at all and instead they have just a bit of a skin on the outside. The fries with the skin still on have a leathery chew. At least the interiors are very fluffy and they aren't over salted. I still prefer these over In & Out's though. Ketchup is extra.
