First time here and decent overall. I had chicken tenders and soup as I was not extremely hungry. Pretty basic and hard to mess up. Both were good! Hubby did say the turkey was "pan fried well", whatever that means...he did not really explain that further. But he ate all his meal and proceeded to eat part of my chicken tenders. Deck the halls with boughs of holly.... One of my besties decided to treat me for a birthday outing. She chose this location because it was a favorite restaurant of my late husband and I'd never gone. He would meet his childhood buddies here on several occasions for their monthly breakfast outing. The restaurant was totally decked out for Christmas! We later found out that our friendly waitress, Dawn, is the one who decorates the entire restaurant for each holiday. My bestie goes to this restaurant on a regular basis for takeout for their Hudson Maurice Salad and Maurice salad dressing. This restaurant obtained the recipe from the now defunct Hudson store. She says it tastes just like the salad sold at Hudson's locations downtown Detroit and Northland Mall. I completely altered my Hudson Maurice salad by removing the olives, sweet relish and salad dressing by adding egg and poppy seed dressing. I took pictures of mine and not one of the original Hudson Maurice salad. After we were served our salads and bread, Dawn came back with a birthday pancake for me. Now, I would never order salad and pancakes. I munched a little on my salad and a little on my pancake. We also ordered carrot cake and lemon rice to go. I truly appreciate Dawn for the surprise! I will definitely say Dawn is one of the highlights of Little Daddy Family Restaurant. We will be back requesting to sit in Dawn's section again. read more

I've eaten here a number of times now, it's a convenient location to meet friends before a meeting nearby. They are very welcoming & friendly. Waitstaff is excellent & attentive. Food is your basic cony-diner kind of thing & yet they will also have a dinner special listed at $35, so you can spend a little or a lot. Ambiance? Not really, lol. Booths, tables. Think any cony restaurant. I've tried many things, including the Maurice Salad, the American Chicken Wrap, fish & chips, and the Cuban wrap. All were very good. My friend was offered to take 35% off of the price for this entree, (because he had eaten some of the side items) for being served food that could have killed him. My Dad's wife and her children organized a surprise party at this restaurant for his 75th birthday. I don't think I've ever been to Little Daddy's and before this it was a Denny's and before that I think some variation on a Coney Island. Always has been a diner of sorts near my house for several decades. We had pretty much an entire back room to ourselves in the diner which was nice. Our server was absolutely amazing. She was able to remember everyone's orders remarkably for close to 15 people and was insanely friendly, fast, efficient. Was beyond impeccable and some of the best service any of us had in our lives. There's some traditional Greek food on the menu as well as tons of traditional diner options. I had some Saganaki to start. Hadn't seen the whole to do of lighting cheese on fire in so many years. That's always fun. Two mimosas which were fairly strong. And for my meal I went with the Challah bread grilled cheese with a side of cheese fries. The bread was really nice and that grilled cheese was loaded down with multiple cheeses (American, swiss, mozarella, and cheddar). I never get more than one option of cheese at a NYC diner lol. Had a great time here and highly recommend if you're looking for an above and beyond diner with a full service bar which isn't really obvious on the menu and was pleasantly surprised. read more

Just had dinner here with a friend 9/26. The front lobby was filthy and badly in need of vacuuming, glass cleaning, etc. First impressions. I was one of two people in the restaurant at 4:30 pm. After being seated, the music spewing from the speaker overhead was so loud that my friend and I could barely have a conversation. I asked the waitress to lower the music three subsequent times. The manager came by to ask if all was well, and I mentioned the music to him. He said the music was controlled by "corporate" and he couldn't lower the volume. My friend asked if they had orange marmalade and the manager told us it was impossible to get...there's a shortage on orange marmalade...really? The coffee pot they brought me was also filthy, with gross dried food and debris all over it. The food was very good, though we had to wait many minutes to have our order taken. We had to prompt the waitress to discuss sides and options. When I went to drink my glass of water, it smelled and tasted strongly of bleach, so I couldn't finish it. This place used to be a go-to for me and my friends. Unfortunately, I will never be going back. read more

I just wanted to say we have been to the Woodward location many times and usually had great experiences But last night (Friday), we came in with our best friends who wanted treat us to dinner for my husband's birthday celebration. We did not realize that they closed so early on a Friday night, at 8 PM. So that is certainly on us. We got there at 7:20 PM. Once we were seated, the waitress let us know that they close in half an hour. We were surprised and hesitated a little, and she just said as long as your order by 730 you'll be fine. We should have gone somewhere else so we could enjoy more time together over dinner, so this is also our fault. However, we weren't expecting things to go as badly as they did. 1)Kimberly the waitress practically threw our straws at us. We kept hearing her loudly counting down to the kitchen staff, the time until they closed. Even shouting extra loud when it was five minutes to close. 2) my husband ordered his favorite, the opa burger(part of the fun and experience is having the Opa flames) Well she brought his burger on the tray next to the table, fumbled through her apron and said she's "not sure it would light anyway". So my husband kindly said "it's OK don't worry about it " because he felt rushed and uncomfortable. Also the plate with the bun normally comes with lettuce tomato onion etc. and this time it was literally just a bun and that was it. We proceeded to eat quickly and rush to leave before they locked up. 3) to make things worse, we decided to drive to a local coffee shop to spend a little more time together. But on the way my husband started feeling sick, and when we got there he was extremely ill ! He clearly got Food poisoning. This completely ruined our celebration, we had to end the night early and just try to get him home safe. Thankfully we didn't have to go to the hospital. 4) I called today(Saturday) and talked with Rick the general manager and I proceeded to tell him some of what I listed above, to which he was very nonchalant and uncaring. Then I mentioned that my husband got very sick and, he instantly got defensive and kept insisting that you don't get food poisoning that quickly, which is untrue. I proceeded to finish describing our experience last night and he just asked for my name and phone number so that the next time we come in he can replace the burger for my husband. I asked if he honestly thought we would want to come back after that experience? He said well you said you come in all the time so why wouldn't you after one bad experience? I said because it was a really bad experience and one of us got really sick. He again said it wasn't the food and said he didn't wanna fight with me. I said the least you could do is refund the bill that my friend paid. He said they don't do refunds the next day. I said how was I supposed to get a refund last night when they closed as soon as we walked out the door? He kept insisting they don't do refunds the next day and then eventually changed the story to "we don't do refunds". I stated that he was being very defensive and uncaring and he said I'm trying to help you, and I said how? He said that he would replace the burger. I asked him if he went to a restaurant he liked and had a terrible experience and got physically ill afterwards, would he go back? He said I'm not going to argue with you anymore, goodbye and hung up. My best friend called as well to talk to him about the experience, and he gave her the same defensive and condescending responses. It's sad that management had this unprofessional and nonsensical reaction. He didn't say I'm sorry once about anything. I just can't continue to support a place that does not care about their customers experience. They just lost several great patrons. read more

I review anybody with trepidation in this odd little Pandemic interlude, where normal is in reach but not quite there yet. Still, there are restaurants out there doing pretty good work and I am eating in them. Which brings us to Little Daddy's, a Denny's looking place across from my hotel that turns out to be a diner with some Greek heritage showing up on the menu. My first visit was superb -- featuring a spinach pie (pictured) and really excellent veggies. My suggestion is that, if you come for dinner, you get this and ignore the many other pages of menu. A rice pudding desert was fine. My second visit was sort of ok. The chicken pot pie was healthy enough and the organic chicken within was an asset to the dish. But there really wasn't much flavor. A side salad was average and the chocolate cake desert was average. Atmosphere, a function of late period COVID, was empty and a bit depressing. I did not try this place for breakfast. It's an absolute no from me. Where to start? The menus were dirty, the plates look like they'd been serving food for 38 years, the plastic cups look extremely dirty, I am not sure what method you're using to wash the cups but you should change it because it isn't working. So in the first 5 minutes of being served cups and plates I was already dissatisfied. Then our saganaki comes, the server couldn't get it lighted, not her fault but it was burnt to a crisp on the bottom of the metal plate so it wasn't very edible. We ate what we could, the sausage was fine, but it was also burnt up. I had a Greek salad, great portion size but the "Greek" dressing was almost more of a creamy Italian. The server never came back until we were almost done with the meal. I probably wouldn't return considering just how dirty it was and how burnt up the flaming food was. read more

I understand inflation but I just paid $13 for a side Tommie salad that was literally 6 x 6". They threw about five or six pieces of cubed chicken on it, and it didn't even include pita. Sometimes I go here as it is a cheap quick option near my work. The food is always mediocre but it's generally been cheap which is why I go back. The lady who always answers the phone is generally pretty rude. Today I ordered a cheeseburger lunch special, which says it is $6.99 on the menu. I went to pickup my food and was charged over $16. There are many diners in the area with better food and service, and the only reason I used to go here was the prices. I understand that it may just be outdated menu, but for the prices to more than double with no change in the size or quality of the food, and to not have anyone say anything to me about the price was perplexing to say the least. read more

Pack your patience when you come! It's worth it. They are seriously understaffed. Last Sunday evening after a concert, four of us came in for dinner. They were not busy when we arrived, but even then we could tell they were understaffed due to employees not showing up. Phyllis, the manager, stepped in and took great care of us (even though some of the drinks we ordered were unavailable.) Chriss was our waiter, and he did the best job he could. Once we got our wine, beer and saganaki, we all were all able to relax. There some delays, but Phyllis kept watching over us and we enjoyed ourselves. The food was excellent!! I had the Gyro sandwich, which was delicious, and fresh. I upgraded to the Tommy's salad. My friends had the spinach pie and brussels sprout salad with grilled chicken. And my husband had a burger done exactly the way he likes it. We ended with coffee and fresh rice pudding. I hope management appreciates how hard Phyllis and Chris are working! They deserve lots of kudos. The food is worth the wait. We'll come back again, but only if we aren't on a tight schedule. read more

I was so excited that I could find the Tommy Salad, I haven't had it for years. I have been to another location and this place made me sad. The staff there had no sense of urgency or even the urge to greet patrons standing in the lobby. We made eye contact to try and get a fork and the gentleman saw us and walked away. Another waitress was counting her tips at the bar. The place is run down and could definitely use help with a renovation. Now, the salad, it was ok.... We asked for chicken and they brought it out on two small plates. It was 5.50 for two chicken tenders cut up. Little daddy's is located directly across the street from my hotel while staying in Michigan. I got hungry and the front desk clerk at the double tree recommended to come here. The customer service is very friendly but also very slow. I witnessed the General Manager blowing his nose while standing behind the bar then putting his snot rag in his pocket then went straight back to work without sanitizing his little fingers. Right after he did that he came over to my table smiling and asked me how was the service. Nice guy... but ummmm your hands are dirty sir. My food was eatable. Nothing fancy. I feel sad because what was once one of my favorite local restaurants is no longer even in my top twenty. The prices have increased greatly. For a chicken Greek salad with extra beets and garbanzo beans, I paid $20. There was little amounts of chicken and the salad was barely chopped. After meeting with our Real Estate group once a month here for a while, we are past the learning curve. Little Daddy's menu offers standard dishes as well as some that are more unique. So far I have been pleased with what I've ordered. Service has been really great (Katie keeps the coffee hot and full). The issues I still have is that the table top has been obviously cleaned but has a tacky feel to it and, compared to our previous meeting location, pricing is $1-$2 more per person. read more

We had multiple employees stopping by to smile at our kids, and offer to clear dishes from the table or refill drinks. I stopped in on my way home from the store and got a carry out (chicken Greek salad). The salad looked great, ample toppings and chicken. As I was biting into it I noticed something gritty and once I started moving the lettuce around I saw that it was muddy dirt on the leafy portion of the romaine (I uploaded a photo for reference). I called to let them know about the issue; the waitress was apologetic and put the manager on the phone to try and remedy the issue. The manager, Rick, got on the phone and just said "sorry, they do wash it beforehand" and then asked me to come back in and get a replacement...umm no. I'm not driving back over there to get another dirty, gritty salad. How does that make any sense? The waitress mentioned they could credit me for a future visit but the manager didn't offer this relief nor even a partial refund. Also, updated to edit, the restaurant responded to my review on another platform with the following quoted below. They think I must have mistaken their lettuce with something else because it isn't chopped the same. Really? Why can't a restaurant or any business simply say, "we're sorry your experience did not meet your expectations or our expectation of quality, how can we make it right?" Hard pass on this place. ALL staff was masked up and/or wearing face shields, there was hand sanitizer everywhere, signs requiring masks everywhere and one server was thoroughly sanitizing booths, tables & counters as I waited for my food. Go here somewhat frequently. Always a decent meal with reliable service. Menu here is large - always a ton to choose from. You can find all varieties of food and I think the quality is above the average Coney Island or diner. If you want food here, get carry out. Constantly under-staffed. Always. I'm not sure why they don't just block off a section and be more realistic for customers. I carry out a decent amount for lunch at work. Tried to come again this weekend with my kids and sat forever. As we were leaving they finally said they would take our order. I should have just left because the wait for drinks, then food was horrendous. Excuses that servers don't show up isn't my problem. Went to Little Daddy's for lunch on Monday. I drive by this place every day to and from work and never even realized it was there and/or open for business. The outside looks like it may be a closed down restaurant, but man, does this place get packed for lunch. Thankfully, we got a table right away, but by noon, this place had a line out of the door for pick-up orders and people waiting for tables. I got Keith's Chicken and Waffles and it was super delicious! The chicken was not just a standard frozen chicken tender - rather a real hand-dipped chicken breast (two of them!) on square waffles. The service was standard and was decent for the amount of tables being served. I think the only thing we waited for was the bill - which was fine. I'll be back to try something else on their expansive menu. The menu on their website is outdated as some options are now unavailable. Don't miss the driveway! Or else you're turning into the bank next door and have to make the long loop around to try again (if you don't park at the bank). Turn right, right as you drive down the hill. read more
