The waitress informed me that the coffee ended up on the floor, it happens, but the coffee she served upon saying that was room temperature. It must have been coffee from yesterday? No worries, she brought me a new cup when the next pot was finished brewing. Then after receiving my pancakes, the butter and syrup was ice cold and there were very few blueberries. Here's the issue. Your food comes but your drink doesn't come. The server says it's coming. It's 20 minutes later. Your food is getting cold. No drink. Server walks straight past you not making eye contact. The food is good. The drinks are good. Just don't expect them together. read more

I was in a group of 7 people for happy hour, 5 of my group arrived and were seated outside, they ordered food and drinks in order to get happy hour prices. They were given a separate bill with a charge of $17 for use of a large table. The remaining 2 people were seated at the same table, 10 minutes after happy hour was over, and placed an order for food and drinks. When the bill came for these 2, there was an additional large table charge of $17 on their bill even though the table was previously charged. We objected to a second large table charge with the evening manager and we're told it was a completely legitimate charge but did remove it "this time". How can you legitimately get charged twice for a large table? I've never even seen nor paid for use of a large table! But twice???h read more

Solid happy hour. Came with a friend on a Wednesday afternoon. Service was quick and attentive. We both ordered 2 bevs and a margarita pizza to share- excellent experience. When vacationing on the California coast we enjoy trying different restaurants. Usually if we really like one particular restaurant we will return for another meal. Little Dom's was so good and pleasant atmosphere that we did go back and were definitely not disappointed! The service is excellent the chef is amazing. Finally got to try this new spot in Carpenteria. Easy street parking. Restaurant looked on corner on the Main Street with indoor and outdoor sitting. Plenty of places to sit. Great long bar inside to order any drink. Friendly staff. Started with the Caprese Salad and oysters with a cocktail- both recommend. I was underwhelmed With the fish sandwich which I was why I rated a 4. The fish size was very thin for the sandwich. I would still recommend and curious to try their pizza and pasta. Excellent selection of Italian dishes, fresh seafood, and thin crust pizza. Beautiful, lively interior ambiance and outdoor seating with heaters. The service staff was knowledgeable and attentive, promptly bringing delicious grilled artichoke appetizer and Arugula salad topped with shaved Parmesan. Have I not reviewed Little Dom's yet?! We've eaten here three or four times during our visits to Carp and it's great. Lots of really interesting, freshly made choices. Rob keeps getting the Venetian Black Rice entree and still likes it. I've liked both the seared fish sandwich and the fried mushroom sandwich (though I tend to leave off any sauces I'm afraid might be spicy). And this is the first spot I've tried olive oil cake and I like that VERY much indeed. The servers have always been so friendly and personable, too. And there's a bakery counter in the back which I shall definitely investigate more thoroughly on our next visit. read more

Poor service and extremely surprised when I was served a $14 red leaf salad w/some dressing on it, nothing more! Added a sliced small piece of grilled chicken for $6. So, for $20 I got a bowl of red leaf lettuce and grilled chicken! My mother ordered a pizza and added mushroom and asked if she could have chicken added. The waitress came back and said "we added the chicken but just so you know, if you come back we won't be doing it again. It's not on the menu." Well, guess what! Limited menu, but good quality. Ordered the buffalo mozzarella caprese salad, your served half a buffalo ball and half a tomato, the tomato was sliced but not the mozz. Yum. Fresh and simple. My friend had the vegetarian meat balls in sauce and that side was $12 and larger than the salad. The staff was super friendly , felt very clean inside. Four blocks from the beach sitting on Linden ave in the parklet, so the sunset view is very nice with a cup of rose. I am relatively new to Carp and am loving this beautiful little town. I say this because as I get to know more of the history and speak to more of the long time locals I have begun to sense an unfair bias placed on Dom's. It is too often compared to the restaurant that held the tenancy prior and people at times shun the new. Dom's is a place that should NOT be shunned. The design and layout is light and airy, feeling classy without being stuffy, we are a beach town after all. Most importantly though the food is wonderful. Even something as simple as a single meatball is moist, flavorful and drenched in wonderful sauce. The salmon and roasted fennel is my favorite, but don't pass up the squid ink pasta either! Since I've been frequenting Dom's there have been many bartenders, but I have yet to have a bartender that I felt was anything less than a master of their craft. They have made me delicious cocktails (and I admit to being rather picky at times) and have always been friendly, knowledgeable and patient with my requests. Whoever in management finds these gems of people I applaud you. I recently met Casey and he was as friendly as he was knowledgeable. Though I don't remember all their names I have never had a subpar experience. If you haven't been to Dom's go, now. read more

From the moment we arrived - the hostess Seinna took amazing care of us and our table choice..... then Riley our waitress literally rocked it with recommendations and service beyond imaginable!! The management must be great and the manager stopped by multiple times to check in. Quoted 10 min for a Margarita pizza on the phone so I placed the $15.00 order and he said come to the front entrance to pick up. Arrived 15 minutes later, pizza not ready, so I watched a blonde person who seemed to be female, prepare a ready to eat blue fin tuna sandwiche wearing no gloves. They asked me to wait outside, for 25 minutes. Finally I heard my name being called, and indicted I wasn't happy with the 40 minute wait. The server very crossley said. "I'm sorry" and literally threw the pizza box at me. "Here, it's on the house" . I said just a minute , took out my wallet and tipped him $10 cash. We finally visited this great new restaurant last weekend. What a pleasure to dine in this friendly, happening establishment! We started with Smoked Fish Rillettes w/ Seeded Flatbreads - a wonderful crispy cracker flatbread with fresh lox and whipped burrata cheese. We also had Browned Butter Old Fashioneds and green salad with mustard vinaigrette dressing. Unbelievable! The chef here definitely knows what he's doing! For my main entree I had a delicious Chicken Parmesan which came in a savory red sauce. Our dessert was their fresh, flavorful coconut & raspberry gelato. Its very rare to order 4 dishes and have each of them be excellent, consistently delicious and high-quality. This was my first visit to Little Dons . I found the service here to be exceptional, our waitress gave us excellent detailed information on each dish and suggested a wine that paired perfectly with it. The pasta, sauces, bread and deserts are make fresh daily. HOWEVER...The $21 burger was burnt, the $30 fish was extremely dry, $21 shroom po boy was dry, bland and the fryer oil tasted old as hell, side salad was soggy and had about a handful of salt in it (and I'm one to eat pretty salty food) they charged us $16 for a kids meal after telling us it was $10; it was a small plate of flavorless spaghetti and meat sauce. The cocktails were mid. But the ambience? Enough to bring me back...but again, not for food. Not proportionately priced for the lack of quality. This place is pretty good. The food is good, prices are a little high, portions are a little small, fish sandwich meh ( thin fillet, and definitely not halibut, nothing like the pictures). The fish roullette appetizer was excellent, as was the uni and eggs even though I got one less slice of uni than you'll see in the pictures. Will I go back? I think so. Good attention to detail so I'm intrigued enough to want to try other things on the menu. I had a very memorable dining experience. The Venetian black rice with vegetables and sea bass cooked in a wood fired oven I ordered tasted hearty and healthy. The kind of meal that is not overly rich yet very satisfying because the quality of the ingredients and the Aperol Spritz I had it with. The blueberry ricotta pancakes I had were slightly more indulgent but totally work the extra calories. Something to note a bout the dining experience is that the the staff are friendly and the interiors are a throw back to a bye gone era. Very ordinary. Very overpriced. Very low value. Sigh... Please, cross the street to Esaus, a CARP landmark, and get an extraordinary menu, reasonable prices, very ample portions, great value. Yes visit Esau's - Clementine's - Good Plow- Corktree [certain dishes] - The Nugget [they left Carp but Summerland is close and a fabulous example] and you will enjoy taste-value-a meal where you don't leave hungry. Prior to the restaurant opening we ordered a lovely pizza from the back door for curbside delivery. Simply put it was perfect. They offer a great selection of salads and sandwiches that are excellent from the fridge. Nice wine and beer selections to go as well. Just right. Our pizza was delivered in a few minutes curbside through the window of our transporter unit. Wow off to our Chateau Carpinteria to enjoy the perfect pizza. Eat outside on the downtown Carp sidewalks, enjoy the cool warm nights here in Carp, make your reservations a handful of days in advance. Lovely fresh fish, killer deserts too. All good. read more

Too spicy, oily and pricey. We thought we'd try it for date night Tuesday. We had loved the old "Slides" restaurant that was there and had hoped for something similar with sea food. Boy were we disappointed. We are clean eaters but will stray for a treat. They say local sea food but all they had local was California King Salmon and Uni. Everything on the menu was hot and spicy. I thought I'd be safe with appetizers. Grilled artichoke and Fish tartar (without spices.). Both were drenched in oil! I had to ask for a paper napkin to roll the tartar in to get the oil off to make it edible. My husband had the meatballs and spaghetti but again the sauce was too spicy. 1entree, 1 glass of house wine, 2 appetizers with tip. $100.00. I'm sorry I had not read the reviews first.
