We adored Sly's, the restaurant in this space for many years with a wonderful chef. Sad that he closed but as supporters of our beloved town, we went for our first, eager visit to Dom's. Very ordinary. Very overpriced. Very low value. Sigh... Please, cross the street to Esaus, a CARP landmark, and get an extraordinary menu, reasonable prices, very ample portions, great value. Yes visit Esau's - Clementine's - Good Plow- Corktree [certain dishes] - The Nugget [they left Carp but Summerland is close and a fabulous example] and you will enjoy taste-value-a meal where you don't leave hungry. Hope Doms improves with customer feedback -- it was a great place under Sly's sign. read more

Prior to the restaurant opening we ordered a lovely pizza from the back door for curbside delivery. Simply put it was perfect. They offer a great selection of salads and sandwiches that are excellent from the fridge. Nice wine and beer selections to go as well. Just right. Our pizza was delivered in a few minutes curbside through the window of our transporter unit. Wow off to our Chateau Carpinteria to enjoy the perfect pizza. Eat outside on the downtown Carp sidewalks, enjoy the cool warm nights here in Carp, make your reservations a handful of days in advance. Lovely fresh fish, killer deserts too. All good. read more

Too spicy, oily and pricey. We thought we'd try it for date night Tuesday. We had loved the old "Slides" restaurant that was there and had hoped for something similar with sea food. Boy were we disappointed. We are clean eaters but will stray for a treat. They say local sea food but all they had local was California King Salmon and Uni. Everything on the menu was hot and spicy. I thought I'd be safe with appetizers. Grilled artichoke and Fish tartar (without spices.). Both were drenched in oil! I had to ask for a paper napkin to roll the tartar in to get the oil off to make it edible. My husband had the meatballs and spaghetti but again the sauce was too spicy. 1entree, 1 glass of house wine, 2 appetizers with tip. $100.00. I'm sorry I had not read the reviews first. We just paid our second visit to LD Seafood, almost 2 years since our first (we lives a couple hours away) and happy to report that our meal was as good or better than the first. Really decent seafood dishes (oysters, tartare, fish & chips, and linguini with clams) and solid service. Only wish it was closer to our house -- or that we lived closer to it. read more

One of the worst places I have eaten at in a long time. I work in Carpinteria and was looking forward to trying out the place with a couple of friends. I used to go to the restaurant when is was Sly Place but they went out of business before the pandemic. The place looked Ok at first glance. When I sat down in the back room the noise was a bit unbearable. There are no soft surfaces to absorb the noise. The pictures on the walls all looked like they came from a bad thrift store. Horrible art and beat up frames. The music although not unpleasant was way too loud and it felt like a busy coffee shop. On the table was a carafe of water, however it had an offensive smell that my table couldn't get past. We thought about leaving but stayed to give it a chance. We ordered two meatball burgers, a fish sandwich and an order of potatoes. The napkin in my place serving was stained with red sauce and the server who brought the food to the table had my sandwich pressed against her shirt. Nice touch. I didn't complain. The brioche bun was the best part of the sandwich. The meatballs were far over cooked as if they were dropped in a fryer too long. They were too crispy and the inside was well done. There was a pickled tomato that competed with the seasoning in the meatballs and the over dressed chipotle aioli didn't work at all. I had a couple of bites and that was it. My friend with the fish sandwich was not impressed no flavor and too fishy. We all had a overcooked greasy potato and give up. We all decided that we would never come back to the restaurant or recommend to anyone. Unfortunate waste of money. read more

Went during lunch to celebrate a birthday with my partner. Service was okay. Not very attentive towards the end and we were the only people left. Sat around a few minutes waiting for our check. Food wise: ordered oysters- can't really go wrong with that. The squid ink pasta with uni butter didn't have much flavor. Sounds great on paper, that's about it. The fish picatta on the other hand, had great flavor, but beware, you'll still be hungry after eating everything on the plate (fish & green beans). I knew I should've just ordered pizza. Overall, nothing amazing and I don't see myself going back, especially to celebrate a birthday. read more

We enjoyed a delicous dinner at Little Dom's last evening. Our server, Gracyn was friendly, attentive, helpful, and efficient, which has been our experience with the staff on previous visits. The oysters from Baja were delicious and briney, as describted. The arugula & Parmesan salad & grilled artichoke were also excellent, the latter cooked perfectly. Our main courses of fish ( halibut ) piccata, tonnarelli Cacioe Pepe, & squid ink mafaldine all exceeded expectations. The desserts of chocolate olive oil cake and the gelato sundae rounded out a fine evening. The bottle of wine shared by the 4 of us was excellent and not overpriced. We are all over 70, and very much appreciated the quiet outdoor table and the special attention the house manager, Devon, gave to ensuring our meal was an enjoyable. Thanks to the entire team. Enjoyed a week long getaway in carpinteria. Had been a year since we had visited little doms and we couldnt wait to get back for their pizza..don*t go there for a domino*s style pizza..but run there for their Naples style pizza.As the week went on we invited some friends and discovered their fish entrees. The fish piccata was the best we have ever tasted (was told usually halibut but depends on the catch of the day)...The vibe of the restaurant is so cool and we were lucky to have Lea and Riley as our servers. Both super friendly and know the menu...Cant wait to return to our favorite spot along the ventura coast...recommend you frequent little doms any time in the area..kudos to the chef and staff...we will be back read more

It took me a little while to warm up to Little Dom, but it seems that they ironed out most of their kinks. It's a great addition to Carpinteria. I recommend making reservations if you are going for dinner in a group of 3 or more. Their service is great. In the beginning it wasn't, but they've made huge Improvements in that regard since opening. Pricing is on point for what you get. Great wine list, cocktail and beer selections. The food is amazing. The first few times I wasn't sure if I'd add this place on my regular rotation, but they've won me over with their pizzas. Parking can be tricky occasionally, but usually not. If you live near downtown Carpinteria, WALK! Carpinteria is such a beautiful town. I'm very happy to have this place just down the street from me. Keep up the good work! read more

Would've loved to have tried this place, but the front of house don't know how to seat efficiently. We were given a 45 minute wait, and we left after 30 minutes, because we watched the same 3 tables that were empty when we arrived sit open for "upcoming reservations," Plus another 3 tables that had opened up in the meantime. Holding tables for that long for reservations when you have a waitlist makes absolutely no sense for turning over tables. We could've been halfway through our dinner, and there would've been newly available tables for their upcoming reservations. You're creating your own chaos. read more

We ordered rice balls, gumbo, fish and chips, side of greens and two drinks. Food was very good, fresh and well prepared. Server was very professional. Constructive criticism....I would like to see more hot seafood appetizers (all were cold) gumbo was good but cioppino would be even better. The menu is kinda all over the place. This is our favorite restaurant - by far - in Carpinteria, and one of our equal top favorites in the whole Santa Barbara area. Our 7-year old son loves the fish and chips, my husband loves the squid ink pasta (it's incredible), I like the fish sandwich or like to try a special, and we alllll go wild for the oysters and also their completely homemade sundae - it's the best sundae I've ever had. Great location, great service, awesome vibe, fun street-side tables in the summer, cozy inside booths, lighting just right, and super friendly servers. We recently had my 7-year olds birthday dinner here - about 30 of us, adults and children - and they were SO accommodating of our needs! I was extra impressed with their service. Dined at Little Don's yesterday. I ordered a Margarita pizza with Speck. For those not familiar Speck it's a cured ham. While the pizza was acceptable the Speck was added in three generous slices on top of the cooked and sliced pizza. While Speck doesn't need to be cooked it's a very firm meat uncooked. The pizza was presented on a wooden peal with a layer of condensation paper. The pizza was sliced while the meat wasn't. One is left to either use your fingers to grapple the meat into bite sized pieces or use a knife which only chops through the paper. Not wanting bits of paper with my pizza I lifted the pizza, removed the paper and hacked the meat into manageable pieces. Cool presentation, horrible consumption experience. Did the chef consider how it was going to be eaten? Probably not. Probably won't return. read more

On September 1 2023 we went to Little Dom's seafood in Carpinteria for a light dinner. We arrived at 3:58 PM. We thought they might have a happy hour, but she said the waitress that no they don't have happy hour so we ordered two glasses of wine, and we ordered a bowl of gumbo, we then stayed about an hour and finished our wine and the gumbo. We both shared the dish and paid her bill and left and went to our condo. About two hours later I got so sick. It was the worst sickness I've ever had in my life I was up pretty much the whole night puking and I thought I was gonna die. It was that bad. My girlfriend took care of me in the morning still feeling sick we just drive home I was sick for two days. I called the restaurant the next day to tell them what it happened and the girl that answered the phone who is the waitress said she would have the manager call me which I never received a phone call back , I just think it's very irresponsible to not call your clients back when they're sick from your food both my girlfriend and I will never go back there and every time we drive by it we want to yell out the window don't eat the gumbo . I'm not sure if anybody else got sick on it but I'll never have combo ever again read more

We're on vacation and always on the lookout for good pizza. No Yelp reviews caught our eye so off we were, hungry, driving down Linden. Parked short of the Avo festival road block eye balling pizza man dans and then saw outdoor seating across the street at little doms and decided to give it a try. This restaurant morphed from a famous one in the Hollywood area - Dominics. So this is Little Doms. The sea food and veggies are fresh and local as much as possible. We started with a glass of wine and rillets appetizer (sp?) that was very good. Then we split a Halibut piccata which was amazing. The atmosphere is like a true Italian Trattoria (family restaurant). We had good service and fun conversations with the staff as we sat at the bar. The wine list was interesting with many unusual European offerings - we tasted a few amazing Spanish variatals (cant remember the names). For people who complain about the pizza - it's the true style of Naples, Italy, where pizza originated. If you want Chicago deep dish, go somewhere else. We went for the chef-sourced seafood and locally sourced ingredients and were very pleased. read more

We've been visiting Carpunteria since I was a child and happy to see this new restaurant open on Linden Ave! Seafood focused with other great options including wood fired pizzas, spaghetti and meatballs, chicken parmesan and hand crafted cocktails. Great sides as well including their addictive new potatoes with garlic and lemon and wood oven roasted carrots! We're fans of Little Dom's in Los Feliz, so made it a point to stop for dinner here on our way back from Santa Barbara to LA. This time around (because we will be back!), we enjoyed the cacio e pepe, halibut w/asparagus, side of spring peas, and a few draaanks. Everything was fresh and delicious, and the service was wonderful. We were one of the last customers of the day, so some of the seafood choices were already gone. Female manager aggressively stalked me and shoved bathroom door open on me for absolutely no reason after I just entered the single person restroom and she yelled she was the manager at me and trapped me in the bathroom and I had to yell for her to leave me alone and ran away from her after she used all her power to try to pull the bathroom door open on me while I tried to keep it shut from the other side. I had to squeeze through the doorframe to get away from her. She chased me. I literally had just got there and all this happened. She then loudly told the restaurant a bunch of lies about me and I have it all recorded. I called the police to report her aggressively pushing the bathroom door open on me and she banned me from the restaurant for calling the police on her. She should be fired. She compromised my safety and she literally opened the bathroom door abd wouldn't let me close it again because she was demanding me to speak to her because she was on some power trip. I was literally doing nothing except asking staff member who walked by for paper towels because both bathrooms were out of paper towels and she comes up to me all aggressive and angrily demanding me to tell her what happened and I said, "nothing happened! What are you doing!" And she says, "I am the manager" and I go into the bathroom and close the door and just as I was about to lock it, she shoved it open and used all her weight to keep it pulled open from her side. There was a chef in the hallway (the staff member I asked for paper towels) and he witnessed the whole event. I let go of the door and she stood at the door frame blocking me in so I had to inch my way around her. One staff member told me, "you passed the test." I asked, "what test?" He said, "you didn't hit her." I can't believe this manager is such a bully who was trying to get me to hit her and her and her friends on staff devised this idea to lie about me and she says that she was told information about me that obviously is false and she blatantly lied about me just to deflect from her atrocious behavior. This experience was traumatizing and I truly hope she gets the worst karma for harassing me. I didn't deserve for her to treat me like this and the only reason I stayed after she pushed the bathroom door open on me was because I was told she would leave me alone and instead she just waited for her opportunity to strike and kick me out for absolutely no reason. read more

Very unimpressed with the service, and the food. Waited 10 minutes to be seated with practically no-one there. The minute the hostess took us to our table she informed us that we had 90 minutes before they needed the table for a reservation. The waitress was sweet, but literally disappeared after serving our food. My husband had the crab stuffed shells which he had to send back because they were cold. I had the grilled artichoke which was drenched in olive oil, and the smallest artichoke I've ever had, especially for the $14 price tag. After the meal, we waited another 10 minutes before we flagged down a different waitress to get us the check, and then they had to find another employee who could make change. read more

What can I say after hearing such great things about their fish sandwich went there with my better half and and the sandwich exceeded expectations also ordered the chicken Parmesan with a pasta dish. The odd thing about the way they're handling their sit down meals is that you have to go inside to the bar to order your meal and then they will take it out to an area they set aside where you can have your sit down meal. The meals are delivered to you in a box as if it was to go even though you are sitting down at tables provided by them. Another odd thing was that they didn't provide an itemized list of what was ordered they only gave me the charge slip when I requested the itemized bill it turns out that they're charging 15% gratuity even though they're not providing any service of any kind aside from preparing the meal. If you plan on having a sit down meal there make sure to request an itemized bill if not you might end up being unpleasantly surprised. read more

Love this place. This is a double review. We have been there twice this month , once for dinner and once for lunch. Dinner was SO good, we got the pizza was nice and thin, with the herbed ricotta - an absolute must! We shared the grilled artichoke. Great wine list. For lunch today, we both got the Scrimshaw Pilsner, on tap. He got the Italian sub with all the meat. The server accidentally dropped the sandwich on a chair but was back in a minute with a "new" one. ;) It came with smashed potatoes on the side which were crispy and flavorful. I had the rice bowl with yellowtail. It was so unique - Brussel sprouts, black rice, white beans, sugar snap peas and greens. So delicious. Highly recommend this place. The entrees here are absolutely delicious!!! I had the beef tenderloin- yes put the word tender in the description and it was cooked medium to perfection. My husband had the ahi rare center again cooked to perfection. This is a dining experience not to be missed! Oh, then top it off with flourless chocolate cake and gelato. Gelato is so creamy -- chocolate yummy! What an enjoyable food experience. Then you need to add that the staff is friendly and attentive, without being intrusive. This restaurant is at an awesome location on the main drag of Carpinteria, walking distance from the beach, with a wonderful outdoor dining area. We had initially wanted to order some oysters, but they were grossly over-priced at this restaurant. So we gave the smoked fish rillettes a try, and we were pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed them. The seeded flatbreads were boldly seasoned, but not too much to over-power the smoked fish. I had the squid ink mafaldine as my main course. I thought the pasta was nice & al dente, and the squid ink had a nice richness to it. However, the spicy uni butter was a little underwhelming -- I was expecting a little more uni flavor, but the sauce was almost mostly just butter & chili flakes. Definitely needed more uni, and perhaps something fresh to cut the richness like more fresh parsley (as opposed to just spiciness from chili flakes). If I'm ever in Carpinteria again, I would love to come back and sample their other dishes. read more

The food here is quite good! I've been coming since they opened. Now they charge an automatic 15% gratuity on pick up orders. That crosses a line for me. If I was being served food at a table that's fine, but if I have to drive there and pick it up to take home it should be up to me what to tip. The food is already very expensive. read more

Last night I got a Margherita pizza. I picked this place because although I'd never eaten there, I noticed it always seemed crowded. But I have to say it was the worst pizza I think I ever had. Most frozen pizzas are better. First of all, the cheese. Every other time I had this type of pizza, it had round slices of mozzarella cheese. Not here. It looked like maybe a tablespoon of shredded cheese. And usually the basil is torn up and evenly spread over the pizza. Not here. But the worst was the crust. It was more like a cracker. You couldn't bend the slice in half without the crust breaking. A really thin, tasteless cracker. Never had a pizza crust like that. A cracker, not a pizza crust. So disappointing. read more
