We have been patrons since the opening and are so grateful to have a restaurant of this caliber to enjoy a night out. The staff has always been so much fun and the food is amazing - have never had a bad meal and we love that the menu includes items from local community farms and is this frequently changing. Though I do miss the French fries! In the last six months I would say that things have shifted a bit - primarily in attitude. We have become a number, despite supporting them - heavily - since the opening and especially throughout the pandemic. We've had three recent meals where we were constantly reminded of the two hour limit (despite not being anywhere near it) and served by veteran wait staff who were completely impatient if you asked a single question or couldn't respond to their question in less than 30 seconds - just too busy? Too important? Please don't become one of those pretentious places ... we love you the way you were! read more

Food was generally good, interesting flavor combinations, but the service at the end ruined the night for me. We started with one waitress who was very good. She knew the menu well, she made appropriate suggestions. We asked her to turn down the speaker above our head as the music was very loud, uptempo cocktail party music. Great for a happy hour, but not for dinner. We could hardly hear each other, compounded by the fact that my friend wears hearing aids. About 2/3 of the way through, with no explanation, another young lady started attending us - and that's when it all went south. I started feeling rushed. It was a Monday night and the place was only half full, so that didn't make sense. I don't remember what I had as my starter, but I had the lamb for my main. It was ok, nothing special and it was already getting cold by the time I had my first bite because they served it on a cold rye salad. The salad was very good, but why would you place two hot lamb chops on top of a cold salad? And they served it in a bowl. It's pretty hard to cut meat in a bowl. Also the salad had a bitter herb, maybe radicchio which completely overpowered the delicate lamb. For dessert I had the cannoli. Very good and clearly homemade. My friend ordered coffee, a macchiato. We were talking as I finished my second glass of wine, when suddenly the waitress appeared, standing next to our table with a handheld. I looked over at her like What's up? and she said, How do you want to pay? We both looked at her kind of stunned and then I said, we haven't even thought about it, we're in the midst of a conversation, I've still got half a glass of wine and we haven't asked for the check yet. She looked back at me like I was the crazy one. My friend, intimidated, said we'll split the bill. With that she swiped our credit cards, handed the handheld to each of us, with the 20% tip option conveniently highlighted of course, and then asked us if we wanted a receipt. By this time, there was only one other table in the house. After she left, our conversation topic changed from an upcoming trip to how rude and rushed the server was. I said to my friend, she didn't even ask if you wanted more coffee - and with that we realized that 1) she never brought his coffee and 2) we were never presented with a bill. She simply appeared with a handheld and asked us to pay - without knowing what we were paying for. And since she made the coffee mistake, now we wondered if there were other errors. With the tip, our bill was $120 per person, so not a cheap place and before asking someone to pay, you show them what they're paying for. We called her over and she insisted my friend never ordered coffee. I said yes he did, a macchiato. That reminded her and she said she forgot to put it in. Yes, because you were so intent on getting us to pay and get out of there. I now took the opportunity to say what I should have said earlier. She argued with me every step of the way. No polite listening to a disgruntled customer, no I'm sorry you felt rushed, no let me see what i can do for you.... Instead, she said 4-5 times, that's the way we do it here. When I mentioned insisting we pay without presenting us with a bill, she said, well I offered to print you a receipt. A receipt and a bill are two different things. You present the bill before payment and once payment is rendered, you offer a receipt. Is that really not standard anymore?? What it felt like was our waitress had decided she was done, and it was time for us to go. After a day or two I calmed down and resolved to give them another change, but then I read all the reviews on Google and Trip Advisor that specifically mentioned this waitress (some described her as a 'little blonde) in a negative way and now I'm not so sure. Several reviews also mentioned that they interacted with the owner, a man, who was also rude. Something tell-tale to me about reviews is when the owner does not respond to them. Say thank you to the good reviews, and offer an apology to the poor reviews. It's so simple, and it shows you care about your customer. I will soon forget what I had for dinner at Little, but I will never forget how awful the service was. read more

Food is excellent. I come here almost every week with my mother for brunch either on Saturday or Sunday. Service is excellent, too. Sarah is such a great server, always greets us so sweetly, really takes care of us. In fact every server we've had has been great. We love the ambiance as well. Who doesn't like sitting outside on a warm day watching people enjoy such wonderful food. Inside can be loud because of acoustics but we love the experience just the same. It's a gem! read more

I booked dinner there based upon the menu online. Specifically, I wanted the sturgeon. Upon arrival, I learned that the menu changes daily, but is not updated online. I had to pay $15 per person to book it. They don't have a phone number to call to check on the menu. They will not substitute anything. Was the food good? Yes, but not great. Nor was the food particularly warm when served. Room temperature duck. This level of pretentiousness was not appealing to me and it became the focus, rather than the food. read more

Upon entering we heard a voice call out greetings to us and out popped one of the most delightful humans I've had the pleasure of meeting who was cheerfully multitasking inside, but hurriedly made her way to seat us outside and get us some drinks for breakfast. The weather was simply gorgeous and the patio is well spaced and right on the corner, which is perfectly seated for people watching! We got our menus and ordered (just ask if you need to know which items are gluten free as they'll let you know). My son got the pancakes with Apple compote, my husband ordered the breakfast sandwich and the cinnamon roll (sinful, he says!), I ordered the eggs, bacon, hash browns, and greens and hats off the the chef/s because everything was delicious! A really sweet added touch that happened is sitting outside, a bird flew over and poo'd right on my son. He and my husband went in to get him cleaned up, and that wonderful soul that waited on us brought him a sweet treat to cheer him up! If that's not amazing service, I don't know what is? We've been living in Fort Collins for a while and have always been curious about this place. We decided to try dinner and it was amazing! The service was excellent (we were even served our dinner by one of the chefs) and the food was unbelievable. I had the short ribs and my wife had the scallops. Both dishes were excellent. Ordered beef chilaquiles and the meat was all fat. Took over a half hour to get the food when people that came in after us were served before we were. Waiter never came by until we waived them over. Food order was cold and inaccurately delivered with things missing. Menu says the egg sandwich was made with cheddar only to find out it was like a Kraft American cheese. When asked, a server said "we have no cheddar in the house"! Even after saying things were missing, they said they would bring them and forgot. Unimpressed with the service, food wasn't hot, way too expensive for what you order. read more

Took my husband for his birthday and our server who's name started with a M, I can't remember but she went above and beyond. Gave great food recommendations and added to our experience. She was kind and not fake which is hard to find these days. And she ended our night with a little Nonino (one of my favs) And let's talk about the food. Wowza. Thought I'd do a covid to-go review of Little. While some food suffers from takeout, Little's food was as amazing as ever. We tried the family meal (pasta and soup) and it was so yummy. The soup was so flavorful and perfect for a cold snowy night. We also got the carrots, awesome. My daughter had the pumpkin soup and a salad and we all enjoyed a Cosmopolitan. They also have some private tents set up with heaters. We will definitely have to try those out next time. I wish I had taken photos but we dug in immediately after smelling the delicious smells in the car all the way home. Thanks for being open and sharing the culinary delights. read more

Honestly, I've never felt more unwelcome in my entire life at a restaurant. Little is hands down the best food with the best wait staff in all of Fort Collins. Since they opened we have spent over $1000 at this establishment. A month ago we went there at 4pm and were enjoying drinks and appetizers. It was a Saturday and they started to get very busy and apparently there was some wedding party there that they didn't tell us about until we had been there two hours. Instead of informing us ahead of time that they had a bunch of tables reserved, the owner came out after we ordered an entrée and told us we needed to eat and leave ASAP. This is after spending $100 on just drinks and appetizers. It's not a cheap place but it used to be worth it before they treated us like s$&@. That comment was maybe the most awkward I had felt at a restaurant- especially at the caliber of Little- in my entire life. If you need your patrons to leave you need to tell them, and tell them when they sit down (they haven't ever allowed reservations btw). So my husband left a review on Yelp. Today we went for my sisters birthday. All was well.. the waitress brought Out my first drink and apparently they knew right away we were the ones that left the review because she said 'this one is on the house because of your review' which okay... that is great and you're on your way to make it right but it also was another super awkward way of phrasing it (vs. "we are so sorry about your experience last time, we hope we can make it right"). Then it gets dark, the owner brings out candles and secretly slips me a passive aggressive note telling me I need to tell my waiter my intention and I should never expect to spend more than 2 hours at a restaurant during Covid. First of all, tell that to my face if that's how you really feel. Second of all, maybe we're not spending $500 each time at your establishment like your normal customers but we are still loyal customers.. I loved your restaurant until you made me feel more unwelcome there then I've ever felt at any time at any restaurant. I was so confused and astonished instead of taking a photo of this horrible passive aggressive note, we asked the waitress about it. She said had no idea where it came from. We watched her bring it to the owner and he folded it up and shoved it into his pocket. P.S. the note did say the name Dan- and it appears that is the name of the co-owner. So the co owner is a passive aggressive, angry, patronizing person who obviously doesn't care about his loyal customers and if he did he'd have enough balls to tell us how he really feels to our face. I am honestly so sad to say I don't think I can ever eat here again. It's the best food in foco with the best servers.. but the worst owner that made us feel like shit for a valid complaint that he could have easily made right. Ps-- our table probably spent $400 there tonight and he still decided it was appropriate to leave an unmarked passive aggressive note at our table telling us how we were in the wrong last time and how it's people like us screwing places over during covid times. I've been coming here since they opened and have always loved the experience. A little pricey but sure but worth it for the experience, and the quality of food. When COVID hit they offered great take out options. Today we came for cocktails and appetizers (which were great as always). We then decided to share a pasta plate, which is when things took a turn. After ordering, the owner came out to our table and in a very passive aggressive way told us that our pasta was coming out fast, and that they have a long wait and a wedding party and that we needed to eat and leave ASAP. We've been here since 4:30 (it's 6:00 now and spent upwards of $100) and this is the first I heard of a wedding. I guess I should have left after cocktails instead of buying a 17 dollar bowl of spaghetti the size of an ice cream bowl. Let me say again the wait staff is amazing here but the owner has a lot to learn from his employees. *****update***** So today we went back for my sisters birthday and let's just say it was awkward. We ordered drinks to start off the evening and that's when it got weird. When our drinks came the waitress (who was great btw) dropped off our drink and then informed us that one of the drinks was free. Sounds nice right? Well it was followed by the statement " this ones free because of your review." So obviously the owner knew it was I who posted this review, which could have been a nice gesture if it hadn't been the the statement that followed. Anyways fast forward an hour and it's getting dark, so the owner comes and brings out candles, but while we were distracted by the candles he slips a letter to my wife. I mean with that slight of hand the guy should have been a magician. The letter more or less stated that we needed to state our intentions for our visit next time, be it a cocktail for happy hour or dinner. Also it stated that we should expect in the future that restaurants want their patrons to leave within a 2 hr period. When we asked our server if this note was normal or if she knew anything about it she said no, but she would investigate. She then brought it to the owner and he proceeded to fold it up without even looking at it and slipped it into his pocket. So I'll let you be the judge. They did give my sister a free desert for her birthday though. read more

Just had dinner there last night & couldn't wait to post this review. WOW - just WOW! We booked the Morocco room - which is one of the little yurts outside. I was worried b/c the forecast was calling for 22 degrees @ 7pm. It turned out to be 10 degrees when we sat down in the yurt. Guess what?! It was LOVELY! Cozy & warm & darling & just right for a birthday party! We felt like we were in our private little oasis, it was completely charming. And it just got better from there - the service was perfectly timed; the tasting menu was amazing (there was sooo much food & everything was delicious- I think the French Onion soup was the best I've ever had); they even put a little candle on the dessert plate so we could sing happy birthday. The food is terrific--better than most other places in town. HOWEVER, the noise level is off the charts loud and stress inducing. There are three noise variables at play here--street noise, a small space and the horrific music blasted from above. I truly want to eat here, but the environmental dissonance makes it impossible to enjoy the meal. Having to shout at my dinner companions is decidedly unpleasant. Great food, terrible atmosphere. What I find most insulting, is that management has been told. They are aware, yet have made a decision to impair every conversation with loud, distracting and distasteful noise anyway. This is a huge diss to the older crowd that can most afford to eat here. Shame on management. read more

I'm looking forward to dining there and appreciate the excellent customer service. Super bummed.... They wouldn't even seat us inside despite having paid for a reservation because not everyone in my party brought a vaccination card. In the two texts & two emails confirming our reservations -not a single word about needing to be vaccinated to eat here. I scoured their website on my cell phone and nowhere does it say vaccine required for entry. :( They we're very nice about it, but just super poor communication and embarrassing for our out of town guests/special occasion. read more

If you are looking for fresh, locally sourced and the most delicious seafood, homemade pasta and a preparation that is amazing, Little on Mountain is your spot. The restaurant is small enough that each dish is prepared for a spectacular dining experience. I live in the neighborhood so I feel lucky to have this place at my back door. Great spot, good diversity in the menu. However, the parking situation makes for an interesting adventure. There is no private parking, you must either park in front of the Mountain Avenue neighborhood homes or intrude on Beaver's Market space. I can only imagine the number of patrons who have been met by an angry neighbor who does not like your choice of parking in front of their home. One of our top 5 places in all of FC/NOCO. Always amazing. Friendliest staff. Super emphasis on local vendors and purveyors. Open kitchen so you can see the care that goes into your meal. One of our fav spots to take folks from out of town. Everything we've tried on the menu is superb. Couple things of note - always busy so plan accordingly, they take reservations but you have to leave a deposit that they'll apply 100% to your meal, not easy to park nearby at times and the they have only like 2 parking spots, for larger parties they have community style seating, when weather is nice they have outdoor seating. I have been wanting to try Little since it opened, and just now had the chance to stop in. Excellent. Cute as hell. Great date spot. Chef Brent has made an excellent menu. The kale salad was a perfect balance of acidity, crunch, char, and spice. We also had the pasta which had awesome charred cherry tomorrow that popped In your mouth and added so much flavor. This was our second dinner at Little. This charming restaurant, tucked in to a mostly residential block (but across the street from Beaver's Market), is the best we've found in Fort Collins. It's a small but charming place with a wonderful staff, a great wine and beer selection, and the most extraordinary cooking imaginable. The ingredients are first-rate, the preparation is flawless, and presentation is brilliant. I'm starting to think that everything coming from this kitchen (I.e., prepared right in front of you) is delicious and unforgettable ... I'm still dreaming of the dish I had a month and a half ago, and tonight's cavatelli pasta ragout was awesome. It's terribly disappointing to see a local business with no interest in becoming part of their community and instead focusing on a cash grab. I had the worst customer experience I think I've ever encountered tonight. We had a confirmed reservation for 4 for my wife's bday, but when we arrived the hostess informed us they could only seat 3. The response from the hostess and manager, rather than being apologetic or even sympathetic, was downright aggressive and demeaning. The rudeness and indignity with which we were treated is unlike anything I've ever experienced in a restaurant. Not to mention no offer to refund our reservation deposit (which is probably fraudulent). Successful restaurants need equal parts great food and great service. The food used to be good and the service is horrific. Sad to see Little sitting on its laurels, collecting cash while they can, and giving up on something that could have been a great, long term addition to the local food scene. read more

Unique "little" place with great vibe, excellent/attentive staff, and great cook (Lewis). I'd recommend the chicken liver toast and cauliflower as appetizers. We sat near the cooks and the beef/fries smothered in mushroom sauce looked amazing as did the large pork cut over spatzle and red cabbage. My beef pasta dish was good but the pasta wasn't fully cooked. The duck confit was also good but not amazing. The scallops were awesome. I'd stay away from the onion soup and the cocktails were just ok. I'd definitely recommend this place to a couple for a special occasion but not several people looking for a reasonably-priced night on the town due to the linear bar-type seating. read more

My wife and I went to this restaurant and were disappointed. It was an underwhelming experience. The pasta salad was lunch size and gloppy. The pork chop was cut away from the bone but all the fat was not trimmed off the meat. The pork chop and grits were sitting in a broth. It was also gloppy. The tables were full possibly with locals as there is only one parking space along with street parking. read more
