My friend and I toured the campus together and we both fell in love with the school right away. The courtyard is very beautiful and relaxing. I appreciate that the school offers a balanced curriculum and that kids get to learn and play in both the spacious indoor classrooms and beautifully-landscaped outdoor campus, all while being themselves. The teachers are loving and caring. My son has been going there for over six months now and he is always so happy and looking forward to spending his afternoon there.

Something that you probably couldn't do today, but that 90's were fun and free. Also the instructor was straight out of a 90's movie, blonde crimped hair with a topless blue Jeep. I thought it was super cool and it still sits in my head to this day. Other than that story, which doesn't say much for the YMCA in today's day and age. I go swimming here a lot, it definitely has the cleanest pool out of the other 5 or so YMCA's in this little Bay Area circle (Central YMCA's pool is so foggy sometimes I can't see my hands in front of me, while I feel like i could drink the Southwest pool water and be fine) and I must add that everyone at the front desk are super sweet. Jeremy Lorenzen I just learned is also a master de-escalator when there is a problem. He solves it with kindness, which is very rare in these times and a huge talent to have because it's easier to get frustrated and be a mean machine. Next time I start a company I am stealing Jeremy to work for me from the YMCA. He is a legend and you guys better be giving him a raise... every week.

The teachers are top notch…read moreand varied, some will teach vinyasa, some will have more holistic approach and they are encourage to let their values, teaching and personality guide their classes. Try a few till you find what works for you. My goto are Yoga classes with Amit G, Azadeh or Alex when she use to teach here and for a deep relaxation and restoration, I also keep the sound and breathing healing class in rotation. Amit G's vinyasa class, there is so much workout, I need 24 hour recovery, while in healing class, there are no active yoga poses in that one, but more meditative while lying down and the singing bowls are great. One can attend by buying a 10 class pass or via classpass or membership, which makes it quite affordable. Yoga mat rentals are $2, water and bathroom are shared with the cafe. There is option to join certain classes online as well and for lower cost.

The instructors are amazing and the class sizes in my experience have always been small. One thing I notice is that the corners of the studio have a lot of dust otherwise the studio is clean. They also request that you take off your shoes before entering the space. There is ample parking and I haven't seen the cafe too packed or noticed it being too loud during a yoga session. There is only one wall with a mirror so if you do come late, there may be a chance where you won't be able to check your posture during yoga, but the instructors are quite nice and will help you reposition.
