Little Gourmet is a true hole in the wall. The food is great and the portions are huge. The prices are even better. The chicken parmesan dinner and chicken parm sandwich are both go-to's of mine, but everything I have had is enjoyable. The dinners come with a salad and garlic bread. Go for the Italian dressing with the salad and you have a hit on your hands. Living in El Segundo at the moment, this has been one of my go-to spots. It's a small kitchen in which food is made to order, and the service has always been wonderful. There are some seats inside, but they also have a couple of tables outside on the sidewalk. Their chicken parm and meatball sandwiches are both excellent for the money with generous portions. The pizza is also okay. They take credit cards and have no on-site parking. However, free parking is available on the street. Your best chance may be to park across the street since the restaurant-side is largely blocked-off for the bar next door. read more

Love this small mom and pop shop in El Segundo! My fiance recommended this place for pizza so we decided to try it out. Their shop is small. You can sit and eat, but most people have their food delivered or for takeout. Sam's special hot sandwich- If you get this, I'd recommend eating it first while it's still fresh and hot! I love little spots like this. Huge on the service even though the food might not be 5 stars. I'll take the smile anytime. They're basically French bread pizzas and they work. Also enjoy the garlic bread. On the sandwich side, I can always do with a good meatball sandwich and this one hits the mark. Talked to the nice man inside trying to get insight on what to order. He was very humble so it was not helpful, but he was very nice and helped me order the special sandwhich. Basic cheap boring thin pizza with tasteless veggies and flavorless dough; pizza style here is minimal crust smaller than a fingernail in depth; pizzas are cooked in a 711/Subway style convection oven; owners/online community has never uploaded recent menus, prices changed a long long time ago i found out after getting there.. expected increases; its no longer free for up to 6 toppings, they have more ingredients now at least, and they have specialty pizzas. I guess like most others, I loved this place. I've lived in El Segundo for over 20 years but it's such a hole in the wall that I've only been there once or twice before. I went there because I know they have hot Italian subs and was craving one. As soon as we walked in, Jose, the owner greeted us. He is friendly and accommodating, definitely a good host. When I ordered the eggplant submarine, he told me it was like no other and he was right. He doesn't pull frozen, breaded eggplant out of a bag, he pulls the actual vegetable out of the fridge, slices it up, sautés it in olive oil and serves it with marinara and mozzarella. It was excellent. We sat outside (as you do in these Covid times) and he came out once to see if we wanted ice in a glass for our sodas. The food was brought out in about 10 minutes and was piping hot, dripping with cheese. While my son and I ate, he checked in on us to see if we were doing all right. Just very cordial but not overbearing. In the end, two large subs (other one was meatball) and two drinks for $20. Can't beat it. Good service, great food. I was in El Segundo in the early afternoon, searching for a place to get some scrambled eggs, a light breakfast. Wendy's was already closed, and Good Stuff had a long line waiting. So I got sick of walking around and headed for Little Gourmet with thoughts of a salad. Owner Jose suggested some of the fresh pizza bread he was making, but I stood firm, haha. So they made me a fresh salad (see photo), for $3 menu price. My cup of water, complete with lemon slice, was free. I was served on the front patio, Jose came out to chat with me a little, and they checked on me a couple of times to see if all was OK. For a $3 tab. It was a really nice day, so our group decided to sit outside and eat. We pushed together four tables to make it work, sitting inside would have been cramped and possibly a fire hazard. This is a mom and pop operation, there was one chef at the time and maybe it was the daughter of the chef that took our order. Very pleased how this place is willing to split the pizza into different toppings on each side so that more people can get what they want. =D As Phil W. said it's that authentic handmade dough that make's this pizza tasty (other than the fresh ingredients used) Costco pizza is cheaper but you can't get custom orders. We ordered the deep crust but when it came out it seemed to be of regular crust thickness, slightly crunchy on the bottom... makes me wonder what the thin crust option looks like? Maybe it was because we were sitting outside but service was slow. The food was delicious and worth the wait, good thing an order of bread sticks was put in! At the end, if were an unscrupulous group instead of "dining and dashing" we could have "ate and ambled" it was slow getting our check, we had to send a party member inside to ask for it! The soup in very beef brothy with good protions of tender beef, there are carrots and a large slice of boiled cabbage, half a potato, this is all served with one heaping scoop of white rice and a small piece of corn on the cob added in. This is served with either corn tortillas or garlic bread, I've stuck with the tortillas. There is also a small dish of cilantro, onion, and pepper in an oil, not sure what it was but it provides some good tang. All the flavors are rich within the broth, the large bowl seems endless with one spoonful after spoonful! Sodas are plentyful, all are brand types that you serve yourself from a fridge. With this cold weather holding off summer here by the beach I'm glad I have a place that serves up some great tummy warming delight, go here! read more

First time and definitely NOT my last ! Customer service was amazing ! Right off the bat we were greeted with smiles from all the staff behind the counter. When we were ordering he offered all the special deals and what he personally liked himself and what was the most popular dish. He offered alternatives to what we ordered just in case we were feeling a different something something along with it. I ordered the dinner special lasagna with a side salad. And my friend ordered the ravioli and he offered to make it half sausage and half cheese so that she can get a taste of both ! She had the side salad as well.
