Quaint coffee shop in a bodega in DC. They can make a mean espresso and matcha. Really enjoyed the matcha completely unsweetened and hot. Not a sit down spot and more of a to-go spot. Be patient with the orders as they can take a bit of time. Parking is free street parking.

it IS the best matcha latte you can get out of a specialty coffee shop in the DC area. my friend and I ordered two different types of syrups and were pretty happy with how distinct the flavors were. extreme bonus - there's no upcharge for alt milks. only for syrups ($1.25) i ordered the matcha latte + oat milk + date caramel syrup. i wish the caramel and date flavors pulled through more. it was more as if it were a sweetener. however, my drink was still yummy. the matcha flavor is undeniably ceremonial grade and pungent (which i love - i hate when a matcha latte tastes like nothing). my friend ordered matcha latte + almond milk + pandan syrup. this was a pretty good pandan syrup. the flavor matched its description, but i maybe would have added a little more sweetness. i think this is the perfect order for those who like not-so-sweet drinks.

Such a cute small business! I love the concept of it being located in a grocery store, that way once I'm finished shopping I can enjoy a sweet treat. I ordered a matcha with oat milk and their caramel date syrup (10/10 recommend). Of course since it's DC just be prepared for the street parking but besides that I would love to check this place out again

This is one of the better matchas I've had in DC. I'm fairly picky with my matcha lattes and this one hit the spot during my trip. It's a little place hidden within a grocery store, and there was a short line but it was definitely worth it! Good matcha flavor and the vanilla was not overpowering at all. Not super sweet either. They also had a cute nook in the corner with little figurines such as Smiskis and Sonny Angels, super cute. I definitely recommend stopping by when you're in the area for a decent matcha latte.

Finally got to try little hat! They have unique drinks available along with the standard coffee and tea options. I wanted to try a seasonal special so I went with the orange blossom latte. It was more on the floral side and didn't have much of the orange flavor I was expecting, but it was still good and sweet! My friend tried their hojicha and added date caramel syrup and loved it. The employees were very friendly and our drinks were made quickly. It's located inside streets market which is convenient for grocery shopping and picking up a little sweet treat on the way out.

Coffee Shop No. 502 Little Hat Coffee Washington, DC April 24, 2025 Little Hat Coffee maybe small and sit quietly in the back corner of Streets Market, a neighborhood grocery store, but it's serving up some mighty bold and big coffee! The cortado was not only smooth with just the right balance of espresso and milk it also had a distinctive taste. The shop uses A Toda Madre Roasters. Simply delicious. I thought the prices were fair. The shop had a line the whole time I was in the store, but I didn't wait long for my cortado. Seating is definitely limited. I think I only saw one or two stools. If you're in ever in the Columbia Heights neighborhood looking for a quick high quality espresso drink crafted by friendly baristas, Little Hat Coffee will definitely meet your expectations! Enjoying life one cortado at a time

My cafe served pandan syrup earlier this year and it became a hyperfixation for me up until we sold out. I've been missing it ever since and can say this latte scratched that itch. Still think ours had a bit of a bolder flavor and remained a deep green color, but still delicious and one of my favorite coffees I've had in the DMV area thus far. Baristas were nice and helped me get to my preferred sweetness which I appreciated. Also- keep in mind this is a cafe inside a grocery store. So only bar seating, more of a to-go situation, but I think it's worth the trip.

Voted best matcha in DC for a reason! I could drink the matcha yuzu lemonade everyday. It's sweet, tart and well balanced. Only wish their drinks were a bit cheaper. That being said, their cups are on the larger size and all of their drinks are hand made, so def worth checking out if you want a good beverage!

This cute coffee shop is located inside Streets Market. I have been here multiple times and love the vanilla matcha and vanilla latte but everything is great here. The syrups they have are sweet but not overpoweringly sweet. The service is also 5 stars! Love this place!

This spot is located in a grocery store and its small spot but has cute decor! The cashier was really nice and helped me pick my drink. The matcha was very green and was honestly perfect. I wasn't a huge fan of the pandan but I'd come back to try other flavors next time!

I really wanted to love their matcha but was unfortunately quite disappointed. I think they just got lucky from blowing up on social media. Their matcha was fine but nothing special. By the picture, you can tell it was a bit grainy and could have been dissolved better. Still searching for the best matcha in DC.

A coffee shop inside a market is always a good idea and Little Hat Coffee is worth a visit. Step inside Streets Market and head to the very back near the registers. Here you'll find a little coffee shop with bar seating only. The menu is small, but mighty. They have lattes, espresso, cappuccino, and more. Tea is on the menu and a few specialty drinks like an Orange Blossom Tamarind Fizz. My vanilla latte was chef's kiss- creamy, flavorful, and so nice. It was just over $6.

Is it a good place to read or study? How much searing is there? Sounds fab

Hey Hayden, this is not the best place to read or study 😭. We are more akin to a coffee bar with four seats. But if you happen to have a little time feel free to sit down to talk it up with us! Coffee is pretty good 😊

If you have not had the chance to stumble upon this stand when it pops up near you, shame on you…read more My god are these tacos delicious and made fresh when you order. But word of caution, get to them early, like almost as soon as they set up, because the goods go fast. We were lucky that for our lunch the one day they were set up on the Georgetown Capital Campus. We love when a food vendor is nearby. Especially here, they rotate who will be there and our luck was Taco Dirty To Me (love the name too). By the time we got there, between noon and one, we were made aware they were already out of two proteins. Not to worry, we still were able to satiate our need for tacos. What they did have left made for some happy bellies and repeat customers when they pop back up. With the limited selection I ended up with a Honey Sriracha Shrimp and two Bang Bang Cauliflower tacos. Then you just get to stand off to the side and watch them make the tacos fresh. As you wait to hear your number be called the smells makes your mind wander. Once they were ready they have foil available to keep them warm until you get to where you want to devour them. The shrimp taco was amazing. The lime slaw, scallion, and cilantro mesh well with the flavors. The Panko breading really makes the honey sriracha stick to the shrimp. Bang Bang Cauliflower, same breading, same mixture of items, but the sauce on this one has a bit of a kick, and it is so good. I can't wait for them to come back around the office. Check their socials for their monthly calendar on where they will be. You might be surprise just how near to you they might be. They are also available to cater an event to, so keep that in mind.
