I like this pizza place, but I don't like their service. I called on a Saturday night around 9pm to place an order for pick up. They're supposed to be open. Someone picked up, then hung up. Ordered two sausage, pepper and onion heros. The sausage was burned, as was the bread, the almost non existent peppers, etc. were so salty it was inedible. This place is really gross. I bought a chicken parm meal and a can of coke. There was dust all over the top of the can when I pulled it out of the fridge. Food was not good. Quaint place. We went in around an hour before closing. The place itself was small could probably fit about 8 people sitting inside. The pizza was okay not that flavorful and the crust was too crispy the result of reheating pizza too much. We also got bit up by mosquitoes which ruined the experience. Absolutely disgusting! I don't know how they garnered 4 - 4 1/2 star ratings. I ordered Fried Calamari - from frozen. Cheese Raviolis - from frozen. Veal Parm - from frozen, burnt, and STUFFED with god only knows what! The pasta in this dish was mushy. I prefer Al Dente. Bread - pretty sure that was prepared from frozen as well. Perhaps they would like me to show them how to cook ITALIAN. All was delivered in a re-used Honey Mustard dressing box that looked like it was mauled by the family dog. $44.00??!! No. Not even worth half that. How do they stay in business??!! Tried them for the first time tonight, and I have a rule: If you disappoint me on my first try, you don't get a second chance. In the middle of New York City, this street is a great place to have fun and discover a brief history of the Italian history as well as all the food that people from that region are known. Sucked. Ordered there for the first time and although the delivery driver was nice and it was a quick delivery, everything else was terrible. A woman answered and halfway thru my order, she passed the phone to someone else with no warning. A rude male with a heavy accent took the line. I asked him if the chicken sandwich was a hot sandwich or a cold one - he responded with "of course it's hot." Well...um....okay.....I didn't think my question was that unreasonable. So right then and there, I was turned off. When the food arrived, my chicken sandwich had more lettuce on it than chicken, there was no mayo, which according to the menu, there should of been and the clams looked like someone had dropped them and scooped them off the floor. I asked for a white wine sauce and they prepared it with a marinara sauce. Everything looked like crap and it was tasteless. At first glance, it looked like a joke. Your best bet is to call Dante's in Ridgefield Park. It's so much better. read more
