They have increased their prices too much. I had been a loyal customer for 8 years but have taken my business elsewhere as the owner is only concerned about how much money she makes. There are other family owned places that don't charge as much and you get a great haircut. Owner is always trying to come up with ways of increasing the amount of money she charges...late appointment, hair too long or with too many knots. First visit was great after that it has been a complete disappointment!!! $25 for a horrible hair cut and then have to wait months for my son's hair to grow to fix it. This last time my son has redness around his neck from the cape. Service is horrible and when you ask if they fix my sons hair they just say "it's his age". Hair cut was like 10 mins and I waited more than that! The worst and will not come here any more. Avoid this place at all costs! They do not know how to run a business. I called today and said I needed to schedule a haircut for my 22 month old with a senior stylist bc this was to correct a haircut he had a week ago somewhere else. I was surprised that they had availability same day. My appointment was for 5. I received a call at 3 saying that the stylist would need to bump my appointment from a 15 minute to 30 minute so they could access the "damage". Ok fine...but there would be an additional charge of $5 for that!!! That was not ok. I told them to cancel my appointment bc that really rubbed me the wrong way. The lady could care less as I stated that this was ridiculous (actually I said BS!) Highway robbery for a kids cut. I should've listened to the negative reviews and my gut that same day availability is never a good sign. read more

My husband and I were very much looking forward to taking our son here for his first haircut. We called and made an appt, which we were seven minutes late to. When I went to check in the woman behind the desk asked me wha TNT child's name was and I told her. She then said, "oh, I was just about to call you. You see, each appt is 15 minutes long and you are now 7 minutes late. If I have my hairdresser start on your child next she will be pushing back all her appointments." My husband and I knew we would be a little late as getting our toddler out of the house was a challenge that morning, but we didn't think we would be turned away. I proceeded to apologize to the woman for being late and she offered a later time for us to return. As a new costumer who has never placed foot in your establishment, and clearly stated on the phone that is was my son's first hair cut, you would think I would be told how important it was for us to be on time OR if that five minutes early if necessary. Instead we were told when we arrived. As cute as this location was and that it was a prime location I enjoy to visit on a regular basis, I sadly will not return and feel it is important for other parents to know what I didn't. We instead went to Little Munchins in Glendale and LOVED IT. read more

I have gone to little kuts since my children were little.I love the fact it is a family owned business. I have never had any issue with the quality of service or the cut. Everyone their is very professional and friendly. The gentleman at the front desk is very polite and always willing to assist . There have been occasions were I had to cancel my appointment but their never was an issue. I did see a review in which the lady indicated she had an issue. I am sure there is more behind the story then what she gave. As a business owner myself we all know running a business customers come first. In the real world we all know there are times were customers are not always right. There are times we have to advise customers if there are additional charges due to our lost in money for their lack of consideration. We like to make them feel they are the only customer. but in reality they are not and we have other customers that we need to take into consideration. Little Kuts is a fabulous place to go, if you have not gone I recommend you do, they do a great job making your child feel comfortable I would recommend this children's hair cutting place to all my friends and family . read more

DO NOT GO HERE, SO SHADY AND WILL OVERCHARGE YOUR CARD AFTER THE FACT. After the second cut we will no longer be taking our children here. 1) For a full 10 minutes after checking in, our stylist was hanging around with another stylist and her client while we waited. 2) They spent 5 minutes on my child and literally did one straight cut across the back of here hair. 3) They then left her hair wet and when I asked why she didn't finish drying/styling it, she said "that's just the way we do it". 4) Then I took my yelp deal to the front counter and the gentleman VERY RUDELY said I couldn't use it because I had used one on our first cut and it was for one time only. Fair enough, I wasn't aware of that and I was able to get a refund through yelp but he was awful to me in front of everyone and I started to cry (it had been a really rough day unfortunately). He finally offered to take the price down from $21 to $18. 5) When I got my credit card bill they had actually sneakily charged me $21 again, HOW SHADY!! 6) I called today and got the same man on the phone and explained that he had lowered my price but then my card was charged the full amount. He said "OH YEAH YOU ARE THE WOMAN WHO MADE A SCENE SO I CHARGED YOU BACK THE FULL AMOUNT". I don't think I'm an unreasonable person but I do think this was a very rude way to treat a customer. I've been taking my twin boys at this location for six years. It's sad to say that I will no longer bring my boys to Little Kuts in Pasadena for the following reasons. Last minute notification if they're having a hair cut special, increase in prices (seems like it's happening often.) and the fact that when my preferred hair stylist is not available, I have an issue with the price of my sons haircut. It would be considered a "specialty hair cut" which cost about an extra $9 bucks. It's really disappointing when you tip well. Aside from that.. I've been a loyal customer to this place and if you'd considered taking your child here ask for Jennifer or Mickey, they're amazing. read more

Called to let them know that we were running late due to heavy traffic. Got there 10 minutes after the scheduled appointment. It was a weekday and there were zero customers in the store. Zero. And they still turned us away and told us to reschedule. My child nearly cried. Did I mention there were zero customers? We've been there in the past and recall waiting 10-20 minutes past our scheduled appointment time. I guess their policy makes it acceptable for their clients to wait but not the other way around. I took my son in for his first haircut and although Lina was very friendly with my son, the haircut he received was not good at all. The lines all around were very harsh and blunt and when I mentioned it to her, she said, "it will grow back." Also, once I left I went to kiss my sons head as I usually do and he reeked of cigarettes. His entire head, neck ears and cheeks stank. Wherever Lina had touched him, his skin and hair stank. I had to give him a lengthy and thorough wipe down in the car because he smelled so bad. I don't care if someone is a smoker, your life, your lungs; but please WASH your hands thoroughly before touching small children all over their head and face. read more

the WORST place to take your kid if your kid hates getting there hair cut. I had an appointment at 2pm, showed up at 1:15 to get my kid use to the environment. He was having fun with the toy area and watching Disney movies until it was his turn. Mind you that the gal that was going to cut his hair was literally sitting on her ass for about 15 minuets AND technically she started his hair cut after 2pm. I told the gal he doesn't like getting his hair cut and then the tantrum started. I tried to reason with my son with offering to buy him a toy or take him out to chuck e cheese, and he would not have it. I was then asked to have him sit on my lap and proceeded to do whatever the stylist said. She had no direction in dealing with my kind of kid. I thought they were suppose to specialize in kids haircuts? Some kids hate it, others love it, others are just plain scared. She just had this attitude like "ugh, i don't want to deal with this kid". She gave up on my kid within minuets and cut 2 pieces of hair and leaving him looking worse than what he came in as. All I have to say is that if you have a kid like mine that hates hair cuts or is scared, don't let the wanna be kim kardashian gal cut there hair, she obviously doesn't like her job, I could see that from the moment she came back from her lunch break. Oh and by the way, there was another person there, a guy, who was sitting on his ass not even trying to team up and help the situation out. BAD BAD SERVICE! I can't believe I drove out of my way to try this "kid friendly" place and it was just a SHAM!!! On a positive note, the other gal that was there was very nice and I wish she would have tried to cut my sons hair, but it was time for her lunch which is understandable. read more

Been here twice. First time was for my son's ceremonial "first haircut." I wasn't very specific about what I wanted, and he came out w/a very blunt bowl-ish cut. :( The stylist was nice and very patient, but I didn't care for the style. THEN, I saw a Groupon or Living Social deal for this place and I couldn't argue w/the discounted price. I decided to give it another shot, and it was a world of difference. Stephanie was great w/my son and she gave him a great haircut that we could not stop taking pictures of. I wasn't any more specific w/her, but I did say "no bowl cuts!" Too bad that my business meeting lasted half and hour longer; too bad the downtown traffic start to cost twice more time to get my boys. so I called, can I delay my appointments? no, we are fully booked. can I go tomorrow? no, we are fully booked. okay, don't cancel it i will try my best. hang up. I wasn't be able to get there ontime. the original appointment time was passed. so I went home with guilty, its all my fault. By half an hour after the appointment time, i got a phone call from the salon ( I was happy before we start conversation because I thought they might have cancellations from others)"hi, we are...kids hair cut. because you missed your appointment, so now you will be put on our XXXlist,which means you can NOT make appointment by phone call or online anymore. the only way to have hair cut here is walk in. --WHAT?!-- you have to cancel your appointment two hours earlier. OH! my god! how could I never know about this though rule! is it somewhere written down I should have read? how could I not read this rule? I am punished! so punished! people who gave this place five stars, did you know about this rule? how could I be the only one in whole universe not know! so dear little cut customers::! this is important! you want your kids have hair cut here? be sure you are good students, do your home work! study the salon! i know my voice is not important, people will still keep going there because there are not much place for kids hair and some hairdressers are really good. well, at least you know how they manage everyone! and I will do my best to make sure nobody make the mistake I made again. since by the end of the day,nobody wants more hard time from place you spend money. right? good luck guys! read more

Been taking my son for haircuts here since he was 6 months. They have a lot of stuff to entertain the kids while getting a haircut which makes it much easier for the parents and frantic kids. It's a little pricey but definitely recommend it. read more

Lady cut his ear and then used a latex bandage on him: My husband & I took our 7 1/2 month old son to get his 1st haircut here on 12/4/10. Our 1st impression was good. The place looked fun and the staff was friendly & accommodating. My son is shy so he sat pretty still in the Bumbo chair. Near the end of the cut he started to cry. We thought that he was tired of the experience, but actually the lady had cut his ear. She was cutting at an angle down the lower part of his head & cut his ear with the back end of her scissors. When she cut him he had not been moving at all. She didn't even realize she had done it. She failed to protect his ear with her hand when she was cutting near his ear. It was an accident & she felt horrible & it could've happened to anyone but this is a children's salon & I would expect that staff would be more aware & careful. He bled profusely & for a long time. Because she felt so bad I wasn't able to be upset in the moment. I felt like I had to comfort her! To add insult to injury, her boss put a latex bandage on his ear. I didn't realize that until 2 days later when we took the bandage off. Now he has a red swollen rash on his ear & hairline where the bandage touched. Who uses latex on an infant? They should know better. The cut was free & they gave us a certificate for another free one but, well, I don't think I'm ready to go back there, just yet. read more

Stephanie has cut my son's hair the past three times. She does do a great job with the haircut, however each time there seems to be a lack of communication. I am embarassed to say that I do not have the vocabulary to accurately request the haircut we want, but there is also no effort to advise or prompt my wife or myself for the proper input. That said, you are paying for 15 minutes and you are lucky if you get that. Also, 2 out of 3 times, she has nicked my son's ear to the point where we needed to apply product to continue the haircut. No advise or comments were made to address this either. Aside from our less than a quality experience with the stylist, the kids - both son and daughter look forward to going to this place because the atmosphere is very kid welcoming. I will be taking my son with me to the barbershop from now on though. read more

My 2 1/2 year old got her first hair trim here with a stylist named Tina. Tina did a great job cutting her hair. My daughter got to sit on a "carousel" animal chair while she watched "Princess and the Frog" on the tv as her hair was cut. She was very serious when she had to look down (Tina gave her a book for me to read with her, and look down) but she enjoyed getting her hair cut there! We went on a week night, so there was no problem with a wait. I did make an appointment ahead of time though. It was a great place! Tina did a great job. We will definitely go back. read more

I've been taking my son here for over two years (he loves the play area). We've tried 3 stylists and they were just okay. I decided to give Kim a try after watching her cut a boy's hair on my last visit. I am so glad we switched because Kim is great! I always asked previous stylists to give texture to my son's thin hair but it always ends up falling flat with straight bangs that look like wisps (their version of texturizing). At this point I just didn't think it was possible to get a haircut that didn't end up with the same results. I don't know what Kim did but my son's hair has so much volume now and it doesn't look anything like it did before. We are so happy to finally find a stylist who knows how to cut my son's hair. read more

Although I've really enjoyed coming here in the past, their lack of restrooms and patience for a 4 year old, leaves much to be desired. We arrived 5 minutes after our appointment time and proceeded to wait and then my 4 year old needed to go to the restroom.... I said we will be right back and I was told that our stylist would be ready shortly. I said that's fine, but my daughter has to use the restroom now. I came back and someone else was in the chair being waited on. Anna Marie was so easy and personable and managed to do a great cut even though my daughter ket turning her head to look at things and talk to me. I know there are mixed reviews about this place. But I have to say, I'm very happy with taking my son here. My 5 year old son has autism...and anyone with children with autism knows how hard it is to give them haircuts. My son's hair was really long, and DESPERATELY needed a cut. So I brought him a little early so he can get used to his surroundings. He immediately felt comfortable, especially in the playroom area, and when it was his turn he transitioned easily. Our girl, Sandra, was very patient and accomodating to his squirming and trying too look at her scissors cut his long locks. And even though my son asked for the 100th time, "Hey, what are you doing to my hair?" she was so sweet in answering every single time! This place is horrible!!! I had the worst experience and never going back not unless they change all the employee. The only thing going for them is whats inside the place otherwise I would never recommend this place to anyone. Don't get me wrong I went to this place twice to give them a chance. The first time I didn't let my husband know that I was getting the worst vibe from the girl who was cutting my son's hair she was fast and did her job and I let it go. The second time we got another girl and she was the WORST, WORST and when my husband asked for a lollipop to calm my crying 2year old they charge .50. The last few haircuts had no style, but the hairdresseser, Jennifer did a great job getting everything even and looking good. My son was squirmy, but Jennifer was great at taking her time. I visited Wednesday, October 1 for a 1:45 haircut for my son who is 16 months old. I don't remember who the stylist was, but she was extremely patient with other children, as well as my son...who wasn't exactly being a peach. We were greeted with a friendly "hello, someone will be right with you" from the stylist, who was the only employee in the business at the time. We were also called up 5 minutes before our appt time. There were fun cartoons on the tv and the place looked pretty clean. She was great with my son and offered him a toy as a distraction right off the bat. Her patience was impressive to be honest. We were done, paid and out in less than 15 minutes! The toy had some hair on it from a previous guest, but what can you expect when there are dozens of toys, books and things to occupy a childs attention span and you are the only employee working? Overall, for my sons second haircut, I was very pleased and I am pretty critical. Nice job read more

I totally recommend this place. I took my 2 year old son last weekend and he got a really nice haircut. My son usually hates getting haircuts and he constantly wiggles. But the hairdressers was really patient and fast and finished the haircut quickly. The haircut looks great. She listened to our concern and was very nice. Unfortunately, I don't know her name but I know she was Persian. The front desk girl was really nice too and she waited for me to buy my voucher through Yelp.
