I just discovered this charming little jewel. This dainty place is almost covert. It has an area in front where you can buy lovely gifts - beautiful books, jams, honeys and much more - and features a delicious menu of various lighter faire. I had a biscuit, which tasted exactly like it looked. It was plump and fresh and perfect, and the jam was divine. I can't wait to go back and try their quiche, salads and sandwiches. Took my dad for a drive and some lunch in Burbank and stumbled upon Little Nelly. Outside is non descript, if you didn't know it was a cafe, you would walk right past. Inside is a cute bakery/Cafe with some groceries and gifts. I was here for the food. Ordered a chicken salad sandwhich and a chocolate chip cookie to take home and split with my dad. Sandwhich was on a nice crisp ciabatta. The chicken salad was lighter than most using less mayo and more oil. The ratio of chicken to bread was perfect, and the grapes in the chicken salad were a nice touch. The sandwhich was good sized and pretty tasty. The star of the lunch was the cookie. It looked really plain and boring. An after thought. I gave my dad 2/3. My mistake. The cookie was full of chocolate chips with a great milk chocolate buttery taste. It had just the right amount of salt. Chocolate loves salt but most use way to much. This cookie had the perfect amount. The cookie itself was soft,chewy and crispy all at once. Really hard to do right. One of the better chocolate chip cookies I have had. Complete star. read more

First time visiting Little Nelly. Very cute little shop. Was hoping to get lunch but it was Sunday and I was told they don't serve lunch on Sundays, only Wednesday thru Saturday. I had been following Little Nelly on IG for awhile but hadn't visited yet. Then when I had a morning off I was able to finally pop in. All I got was the biscuit with butter and jam but it was enough to seriously impress. It was a perfect balance of flakey, crispy layers and pillowy insides. We've ordered both lunch and breakfast here, and the food was terrific. Specifically, I've had the chicken salad sandwich, avocado toast, and chocolate chip cookie (OMG, that cookie)... loved it all! Can't personally speak to the items my other family members had, but I know they enjoyed the food as well. Something a bit odd is that we ordered a b'fast burrito with no cheese, and it took around 10 minutes longer to be ready than the estimated time (we ordered ahead online). I was told that adjustments, i.e. "no cheese," adds prep time... not sure why it adds so much time, but I imagine it's just a quirk they're working out (and they were friendly about it). I had the most amazing sandwich here today! I went in hoping to get breakfast, but they had already stopped serving it for the day. I think the lady at the counter said that it is served till 11. Not too sure... What I am sure about is that I am already looking forward to returning and am so glad they are in the neighborhood. We are truly lacking in places of this caliber, with so much attention to detail and with such quality food. The sandwich I got was the parisienne with ham and it is seriously one of the best meals I have ever had. They were able to make it on gluten free and in a word, it was spectacular! I also got a dark chocolate and almond bar, which was good and some stracciatella ice cream, which was just OK. The lady at the front was lovely and super helpful. I noticed some gluten free baked goods and some other sandwiches I would love to try so I will be back very soon. read more

I'm in LOVE with this shop! If you appreciate quality ingredients or have a true passion for food, then you'll be in love with this place too. I've had the farro salad, chicken salad wrap, ham & brie sandwich, frozen pizza, breakfast burrito, and an assortment of pastries. It's all amazing. The bread alone is to die for. I don't love eating out because what I am a passionate home cook, but eating out here always makes me happy. Their cookbook selection is curated perfectly as well. Everything is eye candy in here! The food has declined since ordering from this catering business that has take-out. At first the biscuits and gravy were incredible but the has declined since their take-out business has grown, biscuits once seemed fresh, crisp on outside and so soft inside...now over baked. Plan to wait an extra 30 minutes to their scheduled ready time. Their focus is catering and the take-out seems to be an after thought....or just under staffed to provide good service. Used to visit every week....now maybe every 6 weeks and then regret, food OK and the wait is discouraging. read more

The food here is absolutely delicious, however, be prepared to wait forever, even if you place your order online ahead of time. My order was supposed to ready at 9:26 according to their website, however it is 10:01 and I am still standing here waiting. The front of house staff seems to move in slow motion. I am watching people placing orders at the counter and even just the order placement takes 4-5 minutes. If you are pressed for time you better go somewhere else. read more

Just picked up lunch from Little Nelly's and the lemon-caper tuna sandwich was hand's down the best tuna sandwich I've ever had! The proportions of each ingredient were perfect, allowing all to shine. My husband had the little club which was super tasty, the guijillo aoilio giving just a little kick. The brown butter blackberry loaf was yummy too! The majority of the sourced food stuffs were items I haven't seen elsewhere, but we limited ourselves to Bachan's Japanese bbq sauce and a small pistachio gelato. The manager and owner are both very personable, the layout is cute and inviting, with beautiful tableware and a curated collection of interesting cookbooks for sale. Oh, and the fresh cherries, apricots and berries all smelled divine. I'm thrilled Little Nelly is in our neighborhood! read more

After a sweltering 3 mile walk I was very hungry. I placed an order to go at Little Nelly: roasted beet toast and chai latte coffee cake. I was greeted by a lovely woman when I went in to pickup. Nice music playing and a fantastic display of items to check out while you wait. My order was ready within a few seconds of walking in and on my way I go. Came home to a few emails that had to be answered before I ate. A few turned into 10 and and hour later I was finally eating the beer toast. It was delicious, scrumptious, mouth watering - you pick the adjective. Basically outstanding. A beautiful mix of flavors on soft, chewy bread. If it was this good an hour after pickup imagine it just a few minutes after pickup. The chai latte coffee cake did not disappoint either. A perfect mix of sweet coffee cake with a crunchy chai topping. I took a few bites but I'm saving the rest for my afternoon coffee treat. I'm already planning when I will be back to Little Nelly and I'm bringing friends. read more
