This hidden gem is tucked away in the heart of downtown Glendale. Little Saigon is a very small restaurant and does not seat too many patrons at one time. When we went in, there was a couple leaving and we got their table, the last table available. There were only a couple of people working in the restaurant, but they were very efficient in getting drink & food orders, answering any questions, etc. After a glance over the menu, I knew I was in the mood for some fried rice so I decided to get a grilled chicken plate and substituted for fried rice. My date got the most filling pho soup per recommendation from our waiter. I'm not a huge fan of pho, but my boyfriend really enjoyed it. He said he'd definitely recommend it since it was flavorful and had a lot of meat; like our waiter said, it was very filling. As far as the rice dish goes - my only complaint about the chicken is that it was a very fatty piece. The fried rice however was really good. When we go next, I'd ask if I can get just the fried rice because it was the best thing on the plate, along with an order of the egg rolls. I might try one of the stir-fry noodle dishes as well. Started with two fresh spring rolls served with pork, shrimp and rice noodles (Item #2 on menu). We saw some other diners having a large rice flour crepe with pork, shrimp and bean sprouts (Item #4). My only complaint is that they don't have Pad Thai which is one of our absolute favorite dishes ever. I got the beef and shrimp bun. I was really hungry today and after I ate mine, I was still hungry. We didn't get appetizers though, and normally we do. The buns here don't have mint, and had less noodles than I expected. However, it was very good. The beef was perfectly cooked. The shrimp was a little over cooked but not to the point where it was bad. I enjoyed it and I will be back. Their Thai tea is less sweet, with a stronger tea flavor but it was quite enjoyable and it was $3. The honey got the pork and shrimp bun. I'm assuming because he inhaled it, that it was good. My oldest got the Pho with rare beef. She ate the entire bowl. Holy pho. She said it was great. I didn't have the chance to try the broth but it smelled good. Our youngest wanted noodles and got soft noodles with veggies and chicken. She was quiet, so that means it was delicious. This was our first time eating inside. The honey got it to go last time. The lotus root salad another disappointment they put the dressing on prior per the was willing to try...my other places dont. You can tell it was not fresh. No flavor and they forgot the shrimpl... If they were not 30 minutes away I would have taken food back and tell them to give me my money back. I grew up eating Vietnamese. I eat it once a week . I rarely write a horrible review but in this case it's needed. I went there because I saw the good reviews clearly it's not the same food that others ate. The veggies were fresh; food was hot & ready for us, in only 15 minutes, after the phone order. The egg rolls could be bigger, but had great flavor. Although I really enjoy the veggie fried rice, I like more vegetable variety, not just carrot and peas...next time I'd request broccoli, greens, cabbage maybe. Hear me out!! I love Vietnamese food and no matter what city I'm in I will try a Vietnamese spot. So my credibility is pretty solid. The customer service was excellent, thankfully when I arrived there wasn't a line but while I was leaving, there were people waiting. So plan accordingly. I ordered the egg rolls which was very delicious, and I got the pho with brisket, tripe and tendon. I was not impressed with the pho. It was good, but it's not the best I've had. Great little place. We always wanted to try it and finally had the chance. We have gone to many Pho places around the valley and this one definitely ranks up there. Very fresh and the place is spotless. The number 11 is definitely a hit. The number 26 was a bit small on portion but not on taste. They get a star off for location and interior. But, you really don't come to Little Saigon for the location or interior. You come here for the those damn shrimp rolls with peanut butter sauce! I get the spicy shrimp and veggie plate. You know that feeling where you have passed "I hate myself stage?" I tell myself every time not to eat it all and eat half and the rest later. Husband and I have eaten here several times over the past few months and have experienced various quality in the food served. The freshness is hit and miss, the pho base has been cloudy and often times has a thick oily sheen. We've been served soggy noodles and once the Pho came with noodles served that were still partially hard. Last nights Pho Tai had no flavor AND soggy noodles. To go order should not take 15-20 minute. I order at 7:34PM, I been checking on my order and they keep saying their working on it. 8:19PM they said 'the water is boiling'. I don't understand 45 min later and the water is still boiling? So I asked again for the fourth time how long more should I expect to wait. They said give them 3-5 min. I finally got my 5 order of PHO at 8:27 PM. I asked if everything is the bag and the guy responded yes. Fortunately we had a great experience from the moment we walked in until we left. This is a local mom and pop house turned into restaurant. The food is authentic, delicious and nice portions. They don't overload you with food. We had shrimp and pork summer rolls, very balanced flavors. The pho beef and shrimp, the broth was delicious and will have me coming back. My hubby had the grilled pork and fried rice, the pork was nicely thin and flavorful. We use to go to a place called Angelina's but the owner has let the staff destroy its service, this Little Saigon is our new favourite place. read more

So much variety on the menu in terms of traditional Vietnamese dishes. The restaurant is located in downtown of Glendale which is a spotty location with street parking but that didn't bothered me. We ordered springs rolls and banh xeo for appetizers. The spring rolls had grilled pork instead of the normal boiled pork served everywhere else which provided more flavor The bun bo hue broth lacked flavor but had lots of meat. The bo lac loc portion was very small. It came with one scope of rice with about 8pieces of beef. I do not recommend. Overall come if you're looking for a great variety of Vietnamese food and to support small business owner. read more
