Clementine was my daughter's hair stylist and she was so great! It was my daughter's first haircut, so I wasn't sure how she was going to do, but she did really well, and Clementine was very patient with my daughter during the couple of times my daughter would get distracted (from watching the tv or playing with the seat she picked). Clementine was not only patient, but also efficient. We booked my daughter's haircut on a weekday when they opened, too, so it wasn't busy. And I appreciate that reservations are required in order to keep it from getting too crowded with walk-ins. My personal suggestions and tips: - I recommend Clementine, she's great! - Make sure to make a reservation! I called the morning of my son's appointment and they only had the waitlist available. As soon as my name was up (maybe 4 hours later), my son was asleep, so I couldn't make it in. Once he woke up, I called and they accomodated him... at 5:20pm (and they close at 5:30). The two Asian women that I always see working here are saints. I've seen screaming, crying, irate children here getting haircuts and these women are calm, cool & collected and get the job done efficiently and quickly. We've been bringing our son here since he was around 12months old and he's only cried once (my fault, took him during nap time). They have a play area, fun car seats, large tv that plays Disney films constantly, and small toys for the kids to be distracted with while they get their hair cut. Price is a little steep - $22 with an extra $1 fee for credit card use. But in my eyes, is well worth it with these experienced women. No reservations. Walk in only! read more

Update 2024: Under new ownership, but it's still as great as ever! Atima (I believe one of the owners) is amazing. I had called yesterday to inquire what days does Jessie work, as my son has been getting his haircut done by her for 11 years, and she let me know that she works only Saturdays. They do not take appointments, but one great improvement is that they have an online waitlist now! Very helpful since they can get very busy. Today, I received a phone call from Atima and she let me know that one of their stylists called in sick and that Jessie would be in today, to cover. I was so grateful and really appreciated the call! I started heading there after joining the waitlist online. Super easy and tells you what place in line you're in, you can see how many parties are ahead of you and how many haircuts those parties have, and it tells you (and via text) when you're next up and to 'head back now' if you're not inside the shop. Love it! The interior itself still looks the same, except more spacious and open. There is ample seating now, the tv is mounted to the wall now so you can see from the entrance/main waiting area, and overall very clean! Atima and the other stylist there were super warm and friendly, and Jessie - as always- is the best. I will admit, out of desperation and time constraints, I had tried another kids haircut place closer, but the haircuts turned out uneven and we were not satisfied. Prices have definitely gone up, but that is expected and not new- inflation is everywhere but understandable. With the waitlist system, the friendliness, and overall amazing customer service here- I will continue to keep coming. My son truly only likes getting his haircut here. Bonus! Terrible customer service. I'll give you the fact that I had an appointment at 2:35, but I was there at 1:32 and asked if I could switch to walk in and be seen earlier. It seemed that the owner said yes, made a comment that there were customers before me but I would be seen sooner. That was fine. I even asked if I should change my reservation , and was told No she had taken care of that. The issue is three customers came in after me, as walk ins and registered and were seen before me. And then when I inquired, I was told I was next. Then actually I wasn't next, as 2:30 someone else with an appointment came in and bumped us. So we wouldn't be seen at 2:35 anyways. Update: The owner reached out and explained that they are working on improving their system. I always get my kids haircut done here every month. The hair stylist for kids are really good but the owner has a very ridiculous appointment managing system. The owner assigns hair stylist ( we did not request any particular stylist) to your appointment time and it doesn't matter if a hair stylist is running behind or some other hair stylist is available, the stylists state they are not allowed to switch hair stylist which makes us who had a 12:20 appointment wait for over 30 minutes. Even though there were other hair stylists available. Customers who had 12:30, 12:40 appointments, they were able to get their haircut done before my kid and even they were confused why we were unable to get our kid's hair cut done. Overall good hair stylists but bad experience. read more

It is very easy to make appointment on their website and they also allow you to select the stylists. In addition, they clearly list the price on the website. Great environment for kids! They're fantastic here for kids haircuts. They have all the cars, toys, shows, and things that help a child stay distracted while getting a haircut. We typically pay $23 plus tip (there's a $1 charge to use your card - which is worth it) for his hair cut. I usually show a photo, then they confirm what we're looking for and then it comes out looking great. We LOVE this place and highly recommend it. Our son looks forward to haircuts and always comes out looking great. The last cut we got was probably the best thus far. We're very grateful! Pro tip - if you have a squirmy one, be prepared for hair to get all over them - that's super normal. Booked an appointment without a preferred stylist but they auto-assign a stylist and it seems they can't allow the next open stylist to take you on so people with later appointments were able to get ahead. We have been customers at Little Scissors consistently since 2021. My son loves getting to pick out which vehicle he's going to sit in for his cut. The quality is consistently good. You do need to make a reservation and sometimes there is a wait even with an appointment but I expect that in a kids hair salon where sometimes things take longer than expected. We've been giving my 16 month old haircuts at home or by family members but last night we tried again and I think now that he is older he is more aware and cried and thrashed around that my husband was only able to get 1/3 of the way done. We gave up and just decided to go here to get it fixed and have a professional handle it. APPOINTMENTS - they do not make appointments and only accept walk ins. WAIT - we came at 3:30 pm on a Saturday and there was quite a long list in front of us. The person taking the names said to count about 5 minutes per person above you so it was going to be about an hour. The wait was pretty on point and I think that was with a few people in front of us not showing up. If there are multiple kids in one family it isn't quite as accurate since some families had 2 kids that get cut one after the other. You definitely want to stick around close to when your name may be called because the man who calls out the names sometimes can't quite pronounce the name and if you aren't there they will skip you. But - if you come back later and say you are here now, he'll put you next up. ATMOSPHERE - inside is definitely geared towards kids. They have a little tikes play slide and house that my son enjoyed playing in. They have a TV showing cartoons and some chairs to sit in. They also have chairs for kids and parents to sit while waiting. They have I think 8 stations but only 2 hair stylists so only 2 kids getting their hair cut at a time. They have single cars like a mini cooper for babies/toddlers that need to be strapped in like a high chair and then larger cars like a barbie jeep for kids that don't need to be strapped in. They clean the stations in between but it is a pretty quick turnaround per kid so not sure how super thorough it is but good enough since you want to be in and out. Also not sure if what they use to clean is sanitizer or not. All staff wear masks but not sure if they would require it for adults coming in. HAIRCUT - we wanted the typical faded/short sides with a longer top that gets swept to the side and after showing some pictures the hairstylist got the idea. Unfortunately my soon cried as soon as he got strapped in and didn't stop even with us trying to reassure him and show him something on the phone. The hairstylist was quick, gentle and always checked with us if it looked good. She kept asking if we wanted it shorter, longer, fixed etc. Was the haircut perfect? No. But given the circumstances I don't blame her at all. Overall, it looked good and professional and she was quick. She was patient with trying to give him a haircut while he was crying and thrashing around. They give lollipops at the end or during if your kid wants it but since our son hasn't had sugar yet we declined. COST - On the pricing board it says a haircut is $22-25 and she charged us $25. Not sure if there was an extra cost for "fussy" or "difficult" babies or why there is a range but it's fine. With tip it was $30. Definitely more than I would pay usually for a haircut but given that we didn't want to deal with him and the hassle of cutting his hair at home, I'll take it. Overall, I don't know if I would be back only because the wait was so long and the cost for something we could probably do at home (just with more effort and it would be a bit more emotionally draining on all parties). However, if you are looking for a classic place for kids to get their haircut with the fun cars they can sit in and TVs as well as patient hair stylists who are used to dealing with crying kids then this is it! read more
