The master hairdresser is the worst hairdresser. Don't pay $100 + $25 tips for their haircut it's not worth it. I went with long hair she clearly sees long layers deep V hair style that suits me. She chopped half of my hair off to leave me a straight bob hair style with no layers. It's been 4 weeks I'm still wearing headbands and using hair products to get out of the house because it looks like I got mad at myself & chopped it off. Everyone has noticed my chopped hair cut when in the past no 1 noticed hair cut on me. So upset so sad they also book you off the app so you don't get to write your review. My appointment is firstly changed to hair-cut from a Blowdry, secondly instead of explaining to a potential customer the reason look at the tone in Sarah's text. Potential clients of Rehab Parlor should be aware that their no-refund policy applies even if the service you requested, is not what you receive. I'm completely flabbergasted at the lack of accountability from the salon owner and stylist, and the color application of the balayage service I paid for. I scheduled a balayage service with Emily for April 7th. Two days prior, she reached out via text, and as she requested, I provided an inspo photo (below), photo of my current hair and also communicated that I go longer between colorings, so I wanted something that would look good grown out. I also said that I was open to her recommendation. She responded, "I think a dimensional balayage in the tones you show would be beautiful." During the same text exchange, she said she had an earlier appointment open up, and asked if I wanted to come in earlier. I was unable, and asked her if 5.30p was still ok, to which she responded, "No worries I just like to prepare people for a late night in that case sometimes it can take 4-6 hours..." I was fine with this. The service took four hours including styling, and in the salon lighting, I mentioned it looked good and that it would take some time to get used to. After the appointment, I was traveling for about a month, and when I returned, my sister took some photos of my hair in the daylight, from an angle that I was unable to see before. The color application is spotty, uneven, and not blended. It's not the balayage service that was agreed upon, and that I paid for. I reached out to the salon owner on May 8th, and she communicated their non-refundable policy, as well as their policy to offer a re-do service within two weeks, which I was outside of. She said that the stylist was still willing to do a redo at no charge, but refused a refund. Not wanting to go back to the same stylist for obvious reasons, I followed up asking for a partial refund. In which the stylist emailed back this time, apologizing that I didn't like my hair, then said, "this was my first time doing your hair, it had been a long time since you had your previous color done, and wanted a whole new look for a short window evening appointment." The stylist had confirmed that my 5.30p appointment time was ok via text, two days prior. There was no mention of needing a longer appointment time or follow-up appointments. She then said, "I also want to point out that with balayage highlights, and your hair type it does need to be styled to get the look and I personally wouldn't recommend the ombre look for you, I would recommend highlights closer to your root." She says this even though she had texted me prior to the appointment that a dimensional balayage would be beautiful. None of this was ever communicated to me prior to, or during my appointment. She also let me know that I "have a difficult hair type to work with" and that I "have to be open to either committing the time and money to your color service or breaking it into multiple appointments." Again, none of this was ever communicated to be before or during my appointment. Also, this is no excuse for the uneven, spotty, and unblended color application. Make sure you are ok with this type of service and their no-refunds policy (regardless of whether you get what you ask for), before proceeding with this salon. read more

This was my first time getting any type of work done to my hair! My stylist was Anh Thy and she did a fantastic job. She's super enthusiastic, easy to talk to, and overall, really amazing at her job. For reference, I am East Asian, Vietnamese to be exact, with really silky, pin-straight hair. At first, I wanted a full head of highlights but accidentally showed Anh Thy a reference image of a balayage. She walked me through the differences between a highlight and a balayage and also gave me reference color samples as to what the color I wanted would look like! We settled on a super subtle warm-caramel color for my balayage and it came out exactly like how I wanted it. Super professional and open to feedback. I was there from 12:30-4:00 and the balayage cost me $350. They do prefer cash so I would recommend running to the bank before your appointment or else they will charge a 5% fee for credit card transactions. The salon is also conveniently located less than 1mile away from Wells Fargo and Chase Bank in case you need cash. I'm really sad to leave this review. I don't like writing bad reviews, but my recent experience with the salon's stylist was not good. I scheduled an appointment in advance on "May 7th" for a blowout + conditioning to come in on May 26th (Which is like 2 weeks prior!) The stylist reached out to me and asked me if it's ok to move the appt to Thursday instead of Friday (26th) as she forgot that she's traveling for the long weekend. Sure, I didn't mind that. I totally understand ppl travel for long weekend. I agreed to move our appt to Thursday evening instead of Friday. We've been in contact with each other for the past two weeks. She reached out to me again the day before and asked me if I can come in on Friday afternoon instead, but the problem is I don't get off work until 4pm. So I explained my situation, then we decided to keep the appt as it on Thursday evening. I get another message the last night that she would like to take me in on Friday again, but I wasn't still able to get permission from work. Then the day off I get a message that she won't be able to take me in for my appointment and she got really busy. I went in last week for my first haircut in a year after growing out a pixie. It was desperately needed. Rehab Parlour was clean and made me feel safe being in close quarters and having direct contact with someone. 5 stars for the facility. Unfortunately, my stylist (Anh) didn't really listen to what I wanted/didn't want. While her technique seems fine-tuned and she has the talent to do a great haircut, that sort of goes out the window when you give someone something they specifically didn't want. In my case, that was blunt bangs. I showed a pretty simple photo of a slightly shaggy/razored bob with shaggy/curtain bangs and commented repeatedly that the bangs were my favorite part, specifically how they weren't blunt, straight across toddler bangs. Well, that's what I got, and now I look like Edna Mode from The Incredibles. Edit: This is in response to Anh's reply to my review - I feel as though you have me confused with someone else, seeing as though you cut about 2+ inches off my bangs, that I had not previously cut myself. My hair was professionally cut last year, right before the pandemic, into a pixie which had been growing out. My bangs were past my nose and are now above my eyebrow. Pretty late review buuuuut.... I just wanna say thank you, Anh Thy!!! First, it was super easy to book an appointment. They are always booked but I had to wait for at least 4 days which wasn't so bad. They require a deposit, which can be used for your service. They basically deduct it from your total. They send you a confirmation notice the day prior to appointment date. I believe the deposit is refundable but there's a policy for it just not completely sure. Getting to the place was pretty easy, and there is a parking lot behind the salon. I walked in and it was super clean. Very well lit and the ambiance was great. I was greeted by Anh right away. Got seated right away and Anh just looked at my hair right away and knew what would be best for my hair right away. I had picked out what I wanted done but she recommended not bleaching my hair too much. Which she explained why and understood her point. She took her time and I didn't feel rushed. She made miracles happen that day. She's great. She recommended the products they have in the store and explained how much product to use and what to avoid as well. I visited the salon to have my roots dyed black. Having previously treated my hair with henna, I anticipated a darker outcome, as has been my past experience with coloring. However, as evident from the photos, there is minimal change, and some grey hairs on the sides remain prominent. The picture on the left of the last pic, was taken before coloring, but given the lack of noticeable difference, it probably does not matter, which one is which. Call out to Naydene, the color technician, who excelled in communication, scheduling, and engaging conversation. However, the $80 fee for the coloring service, excluding tip, feels unjustified due to the negligible change in color. This was my first time at this salon, and I had high hopes, especially because they offer PPD-free options suitable for sensitive scalps like mine. My stylists were super friendly and accommodating each time I went. The first time she made me a couple of mimosas while I waited for my deep conditioning under the hair dryer. My second time there was when I was pregnant during the pandemic so no mimosas but I did get a small soda. I walked in not knowing they were by appointment only, sat there for about ten minutes before I was asked what time my appointment was, I said I was a walk-in and a woman that was either the manager or the owner very abrasively stated that they were by appointment only. I said oh okay I didn't know and gathered my bag to go. She then proceeds to bring over a business card and shows me where to book online. I thought oh okay so do I need to make the appointment online to get my haircut today? I ask if they have any availability right now (since it was 5 pm and google said they closed at 7, and the salon was empty.) She said well no everyone has gone home already we are cleaning up, in such an unnecessarily rude way that made it seem like I was pushing for a haircut which I definitely was not. There are plenty of other salons and I don't want someone cutting my hair that doesn't have time or simply doesn't want to so not sure why she thinks I would push the situation. I left and went to excellent hair salon, my first time there and though they also were not able to fit me in they were very pleasant and made me want to go back. I used to love Sam Vasquez and his great haircuts here but unfortunately I won't be recommending this place to anyone anymore, nonetheless, I wish the business the best of luck. One star for ease of parking and another for the general aesthetic and appearance of cleanliness. I am very happy with my experience and cut! I'm the type of person who never sticks to a stylist, as my hair is low maintenance but I have high expectations as I've had many haircuts with different stylists, even while international in Asia. Anh Thy was my stylist and she greeted me as soon as she was done with her previous client. Salon was clean, bright, not awkward (they have music playing lightly, stylist stations are placed in a nice layout where you aren't staring at other people), beverages are self serve, hair wash stations are free standing and not tucked in a dark corner with 3 walls, and plenty of parking in the back. Cash or Zelle or Venmo only. I will be returning to this salon. Anh Thy listened to me (actually, listened, and repeated back and offered solutions) and that was key. Hair wash was great and thorough. Hair wash is also included in the haircut BTW (some salon's do not wash your hair) so there is no reason to book a wash/blowdry as well as your haircut (which I did, and Anh Thy called to confirm with me the day before). read more

Disappointed with how their appointment system works. I made an online appointment with Destiny Olmos which included a credit card hold. The appointment was pending for almost 48 hours. After 24 hours, I tried canceling online and even called them but no response. I did not want to book an appointment elsewhere because I would be charged if I didn't cancel within 72 hours which wasn't possible since it was way past that window. Eventually my appointment was denied for no reason whatsoever. Now, I have an event tomorrow and it is too late to find an appointment with a different salon in such short notice. They don't respond to calls or emails. I'd expect a confirmation or denial of appointment at least within 24 hours so people can plan accordingly! read more

The expectation versus reality wasn't shown in the results of my hair appointment. It might have been due to miscommunication but i had shown some screenshots of what i desired and I would have understood if I was told that I may need multiple sessions to get the desired results or if if they were able to get to a certain level and I would have compromised. However my desire for purple hair ended up in no purple to my hair at all (might be some light silver purple in my hair in sunlight but I also asked other people and friends and they did not see any) and I ended up with darker hair than what I originally came in with. I know that color fades after each wash - but there was no purple to begin with that would end up as a lavender with washes. Overall this color would be desired if I wanted to go darker, but my intention was to go lighter and have more color. Great salon experience! Recently was seen by Nancy and I am honestly blown away. I came in with the thought that I would touch up my previous balayage/ombré with no clear direction to how light I wanted, but just however lightness I could achieve. After my brief consultation with Nancy and showing her some inspiration pictures- we decided on going with baby lights and toning my hair as ashy as possible. Before hand, Nancy warned me that it would be a long process of about 3.5 hours which I wasn't worried about due to my prior experiences and research. Nancy is very skilled and knows how to master her craft! After 7 hours, yes 7, we were able to achieve a beautiful smokey/ashy blonde. Although, it wasn't as easy as I would imagine only because it took 100+ foils to lift my thick hair and multiple toning sessions to remove as much brassiness as possible. It was my first time experience at Rehab Parlor with my stylist - Emily M. She was amazing especially because I wanted someone who is familiar with curly hair cut. She is so knowledgeable and she walked me through the various options in detail. She's extremely patient and I learnt a lot about curly hair maintenance as well.
