I ordered the tofu bowl which I had in the other location and it was so good but this time it was really salty. I also ended up getting the milk bread because at the other location they ran out so I wanted to try it really bad. I don't think it was worth it to be honest. The surface was impeccable, and the server was really kind. I love the decor and the vibes of the place. It was really pretty. We were seated in the patio, and our drink and appetizer orders were taken quickly. After that, however, we were ignored every step of the way and had to flag somebody down for everything else, including the bill. We don't mind leisurely service at all, but we shouldn't have to beg for it. To add insult to injury, our OpenTable reservation wasn't marked as completed, and my polite email to management was ignored. Looks like others have had the same experience lately. On a chilly February day, Little Sister was the perfect spot to eat some Pho and warm up. The service was outstanding, the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The Pho was great, huge portion and yummy. I also ordered the glamonade which was a little too sweet for me and didn't have much of the ginger or mint flavor that the menu described. We went shopping and ate outside at Little Sister for lunch on a Saturday. The service was pretty good; I'd rather be left alone than have someone constantly checking in. The food was outstanding. I have visited Little Sister countless times at both the Redondo Beach and El Segundo locations, and I always order the same item"Imperial Roll (deep-fried egg roll)." This time, the filling was pasty and unpleasant, almost as if it were undercooked. The exterior was also greasy and not crispy at all. This was very surprising, as I am very familiar with the usual quality of this dish. When I raised my concern, the staff did offer to remake the dish, which I appreciated. However, by that point I had already lost my appetite after ate the pasty egg roll. They explained that the roll contains crab meat, but regardless of the ingredients, properly cooked filling should not have this kind of texture. That explanation did not address the real issue -- the texture and overall quality. Little Sister has four locations here in the Southland. This one is located at the far east end of the The Point shopping mall. The décor is nicely upscale, and on a warm day, they can open the wall on one side to let the outside in. The menu is Vietnamese-fusion, with most but not all items having some spin from the Vietnamese original. Surprisingly, at least to me, phở dishes are sparse. The Pho Ba soup was solid. Even better was the Pho Banh Cuon, not a soup, but rice paper wrapped around a beef strip, with vegetables and a nice sweet sauce, probably the best menu item I've liked. We pretty much ordered all the items with the little butterfly symbol next to the dish name for house favorites. Green Papaya Salad - large shrimp. Tastes like the Thai papaya salad dish. Pho Banh Cuon - haven't seen this at Vietnamese hole in the wall places. Meat is a bit chewy, so difficult to cleanly bite the wrap. Gets messy as everything falls out after first bite. Tasty. Pho Bo - Much darker broth than what I've seen at other restaurants. Didn't enjoy the soup flavors personally. Black Rice - would definitely get again. Lots of seafood. Good portion size. Fried Sea Bass - fish was a tad firm. Enjoyed the brightness of this lettuce fish taco. Shaky Shaky Beef - meat too chewy. Tomato fried rice was the best part of the dish. Pecan Tart - warm pecan tart with scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. This was good. Off menu items for kids include fried rice and butter noodles. Fried rice was delicious with broken rice. My kids didn't like it, don't know why. I liked it. And FYI...Prior to our visit, I got a voicemail from Little Sister confirming the reservation. The food is good, but that is the only positive thing about this place. Despite the high prices, the service was absolutely terrible. The waitress was unfriendly, unkind, and completely unhelpful. Her attitude made us feel unwelcome from the start. What made it even worse was that the tip was already included due to the number of people at our table, and she clearly knew this. Because of that, her effort to provide decent service was minimal to nonexistent. We felt ignored and poorly treated throughout the entire meal. Paying expensive prices and still receiving such awful service is extremely disappointing. Yelp BFF and I were able to meet up with family in the area. We ordered the salmon crudo, pho banh cuon, xoi, triple garlic noods, and tart to share family style. My favorite was the pho banh cuon. It was perfectly filled and drenched in fish sauce. Reminded me of after school snacks my Mom would have ready when we got home. We ordered the shaky shaky beef, xo omelette, and Pho Bo along with the fried shrimp and spring roll appetizers. The appetizers outshined the mains but the meal was great altogether. It wasn't crowded for Sunday lunch time and the service was good. Our waitress was friendly and we got our food quickly, which is a huge plus with a toddler. The outdoor patio area is very comfortable even during the summer. It was nice to be sitting outside eating with good shade and a nice breeze.
