Pho banh cuon - good flavor but the rice paper was hard. Garlic noodles - not a fan. Something about the flavor was off to me. Others in the group liked it. Papaya salad - super good and refreshing. More Thai vibes. Didn't care for the beef jerky in it. Shaky shaky beef - rice was a bit mushy. I had two different pieces of the beef - one was tough and chewy and the other was ok. Sweet sauce. Crispy prawns - solid appetizer. Liked the green sauce. I've been to a diff location before. Some things are good on the menu. I think I liked the lemongrass noodles on a diff visit. Poor service tonight for our first visit to Little Sister. Our family was greeted by the hostess, seated for dinner outdoors among other diners and brought menus. No one came back to our table afterwards for food orders or water/drinks. Servers walked around serving the tables around us and cleaning empty tables. The table next to us had their server come twice. There were empty tables inside and outside. Hostess and server communication can improve for better service. We ordered: -shrimp and pork spring rolls -saigon lemongrass beef noodles -ban xeo Vietnamese crepe -lemongrass pork chop -shaky shaky beef The highlight of the meal was the shaky shaky beef, which is a staple on their menu and won't leave the menu. The beef is cooked to perfection and very tender. It's my favorite dish on their menu. The rice side that comes with the meal is really good. Onto the pro-tips: Costco sells $100 gift cards for $80, so that's a great discount. And second, Little Sister charges 3% on all credit card transactions, which means that if you don't earn at least 3% on your dining out credit card, you're better off bringing cash to pay for your meal. read more

A friend of mine is in town and mentioned she wanted to visit Little Sister. We came around 5pm on a Sunday evening. When we entered, they were playing Sade which I immediately LOVED. We ordered our drinks, and half the table received them pretty quickly but the other half had to wait about 30 minutes or so. Everyone loved their food despite the slow service with the drinks. One guest in our party didn't receive her noodles well into our meal, at least 30-45 minutes after everyone else had received their food. Our waitress was nice and the restaurant was clean. As it got later, they did begin to get quite busy. Our whole time there, the music was excellent. I'm interested in visiting during happy hour. read more

The food is good and prepared to perfection and I'm glad to know its good as I've eaten at other locations and they compare equal to each other. The service is good (but I like DTLA more). This location at The Point is convenient and parking is plentiful. The food ? well, it's Viet - fusion, IMHO. The spring rolls were a pleasant surprise to me and I may have to go back and have it again for dessert. In any case each dish had its own taste. Price point above average. My lunch tab for 3 of us (not including any wine or adult beverage) was $110. Truthfully, it was a high price for lunch BUT., the food was of quality and the service was nothing to sneeze about! Really nice vibe! They weren't super busy when we came by around 4:30ish in the afternoon and the server was really nice and helpful! The food i think is best done family style so you get to try a bunch of their dishes. Our server was very knowledgeable about their dishes and was able to recommend dishes based on allergies. They have a pretty big drink menu which is cool, the drink i ordered wasn't super strong but tasted good. They definitely do Vietnamese elevated right! We got the Pho Banh Cuon which had a really nice kick to it! The xoi sticky rice was really cool, I liked the crispy texture that they had and the veggies and sauce was really flavorful! Nothing standout about it. * Goi Cuon - One of my favorites! Fresh and delicious with an amazing dipping sauce. * Shaky Beef - Highly recommend! The beef is flavorful and well-marinated, and the tomato rice is fantastic. Pricey, but worth trying. * Fried Sea Bass - Skip this one. Lacking in flavor and inconvenient to eat with the DIY lettuce wraps. Overall, it's high-end Vietnamese food that's on the expensive side but doesn't completely wow. There's plenty of parking at the pointe and little sister is one of the first restaurant's right by the parking lot. It's a nice intimate space with a very good looking bar. Grabbed dinner with a friend here on a Thursday night and we were both very impressed! We both love The Point and shop here often, but had never eaten at Little Sister. We arrived at 5pm on Thursday, there was no wait to be seated. I had read online that happy hour is from 3-6, but I did not see this posted anywhere. We were provided with the regular menu but when I asked about HH the server brought over that menu as well. HH drinks were $10 cocktails (pretty reasonable for the area) and $15 for several dishes. We ordered the Chicken and Shitake dumplings, the spring rolls, and the beef with noodles from the HH menu. There were several other options listed: salmon crudo, chicken wings and a salad. I had a Paloma and my friend had the spiked lemonade, both were very good and not overly sweet. Three dishes and two drinks were enough for us, totaling about $75, which is not bad for the South Bay Area. I saw a few other reviews mentioning a credit card surcharge.. I think ours was $3? It wasn't enough to bother me. Staff was attentive, our water glasses were refilled promptly throughout the meal and restaurant and bathroom were clean! Parking is free in The Point parking lot. We were in the mood for Vietnamese food, so decided to eat at Little Sister El Segundo. We've tried the Redondo one many times, and it was always good. Great spot with outdoor and indoor options, with lots of seating. Really nice view of outdoors from all seating. Our server was nice, but she had a miscommunication with the kitchen in asking for substitution in which she originally said was ok. Then after clarifying, the kitchen took extra long in making our order. We ordered crispy prawns, which came out quickly. We also ordered the half crispy chicken. We asked for extra salad instead of rice. She went back to check with the kitchen, and they said ok. Then when we haven't gotten our dish, she said there was no substitutions and would be extra $5 charge for extra salad. We stuck with original menu order, and it still took a long time. I think they forgot about making our dish. It took about 45 minutes to get our entree. Our food was delicious. Sauces were a great accompaniment. Some parts of the chicken were a little dry, but their salad was fresh and good. And the crispy prawns weren't exactly prawns, more like shrimps. So I ordered the 'Suon nuong' - lemongrass grilled pork chop & chicken fat rice. I was pleasantly surprised and happy to see that the meal came with a little salad, the dressing was sweet and Tangy! We ordered the Nem Nuong Spring Rolls, Pho Bahn Cuon, and Shaky Shaky Beef. The food was gorgeous, texture forward, and so so yummy. Spring rolls are done different everywhere. Overall experience...kinda meh! I went online in the morning and reserved an outdoor table for that evening, meeting up with some friends. I figuring we would enjoy the early evening warm fall weather. They have an outdoor fenced seating are so I thought it would be a nice spot in the Point courtyard. I got their early and they seated me right at the entrance to the area with high traffic buzzing by. When I asked about seating at one of several tables further in the area, I was told they were reserved for a large party that had yet to arrive. I was then offered a sidewalk table tucked in by the front door which I took as it seemed the lesser of two evils. Service was slow albeit friendly and it took some time to place our orders. This wasn't really a problem because I had plenty of catching up to do with my friends. We ordered a starter which came out after a small delay. And then our entrées came out widely separated with the last being delayed significantly (5 minutes) from the others. We had been warned that they served "family style" which apparently is an excuse to not bother to plate together the orders for the table. "Family style" in my experience is when each diner has a plate and setup and serves from a central serving dish as the dishes are delivered. That is not what they did here. So our entrées got cold while we politely waited for everything to be served....meh! The food itself was very tasty. We started with the housemade dumplings which dissapeared quickly. The flavors of chicken and mushrooms were accented very nicely by the chili dipping sauce and the fresh dumplings. I think I chose poorly for my entrée, the "bo kho" braised beef, which was a heavy, highly spiced pot roast. The beef was very tender but the spicing overwhelmed the dish. It would be good on a really cold night but it didn't work for me this time. My companions had better luck with the "chicken rendang" curried chicken and the "broken bowl" lemongrass chicken, which were hits with both of them. I sampled the "broken bowl" later and regretted my initial choice as it was very well prepared. We finished with a chocolate mousse/sorbet special that was very good. Fortunately we chose to split it since it was very rich. The warm evening quickly cooled off after the sun retreated but the server rolled a heater over and provided lap blankets to save the evening. I would go back, although sit inside in the winter, and be a bit more discriminating in my menu choices. Finally, nobody was seated at those tables reserved for the large party during our entire meal....meh! read more

Cute little spot in El Segundo. Decor and layout was great. Parking wasn't a problem. The food was pretty good. Our party had ordered quite a few dishes actually. They come out eventually. The food was overly fried. Literally everything where it is past the golden crisp and more of a dark brown burnt fry taste. The dipping sauce for the prawns was tasty but the prawns were nothing special. The fried rice was their version of a fried rice - cubed and over fried. Bread was good. We ordered the triple garlic noodles (was way too salty, not worth the cost either), the black rice (Not good at all. Not sure what it was suppose to taste like, it just did not taste good imo. Maybe a Select few individuals may like it), lastly we had the fried sea bass (this was good, sauce was good. But for a fine dining type restaurant I would imagine they will have it in a wrap already made. It was a bit messy to eat as you use the lettuce to wrap). So the sea bass was the only thing that was finished. The garlic noodles and black rice was taken to go. Ended up tossing the left overs away the next day. Just was not good. There was a good portion of the black rice left too. Just ate the couple pieces of shrimp and muscle that's it. The rest in the trash. If you come here stay away from the black rice and garlic noodles. Overall, nice place but food was not so great. Maybe order different items. My beef was cooked really well. Tender and flavorful. The chicken was fried crispy and the sauce it was served with had a nice spice to it. The dessert was unlike anything I've tried before.
