I stopped by Little Tokyo on Saturday, January 24, after finishing my shopping. It's located inside Arrowhead Mall, near the food court, and surrounded by plenty of other restaurants and shops. The mall area offers ample parking, which is always a plus. The staff was very friendly. There is a $0.30 upcharge for fried rice, but it didn't seem like traditional Chinese fried rice. It was more like white rice with soy sauce. My suggestion would be to make sure the rice is fried on the grill and seasoned a bit more. That said, the portion sizes are generous. I ordered the teriyaki chicken with steamed vegetables, upgraded to fried rice, and added a spring roll on the side for $1.80. My total was under $13, which is a great price. The spring roll was very good, and everything was freshly made. Overall, the food was good, but it could benefit from a little more seasoning, a more traditional fried rice for the upcharge, and additional teriyaki sauce on the chicken. read more

False advertisement, i asked for their fried chicken dumplings and in the image it showed a plate w a small cup of teriyaki sauce and the dumplings , in return i got the dumplings in a bag and no sauce or cup for the sauce. Their service is awful when we asked for a small cup for the sauce they said they don't sell them and they laughed it off. read more

I didn't even order . I'm another worker in the mall and went to give respects to a hard worker that I see in the mall everyday i work and I have a 6 day schedule all day and he's there everyday !!! I was trying to give him a little present from one hard worker to another but when I tried the crew members tried to give me attitude when I asked for a manager . Then they presented me with the actual crew members who I tried to give thanks to so I knew he wasn't a manager . Then they had another crew member try to pretend to be the manager . The pretend manager/crew member an older gentleman didn't even listen to what I said and proceeded to walk away mid conversation . Absolutely horrendous! There was a roach found in the food today. The cashier and cook didn't even look surprised grabbed the plate and quickly refunded the order. Will be contacting the health dept. Completely unacceptable health conditions to be servicing food in this situation read more

I've never had a bad meal at Little Tokyo. I get the teriyaki chicken and sometimes I add shrimp with noodles (no veggies!!!). They're usually pretty quick with your order and you get to watch them make it in front of you. Great portion size for your dollar. I love the food there but I had a terrible experience with a rude guy when he was preparing my food. I told them I'm allergic to shell fish if he could use a different fork on the noodles when giving me my food because the lady in front of me order shrimp and when he did my plate he use the same fork .. he told me to go to Panda Express. Wow I would think he heard of cross contamination which people can get very sick when they are allergic to shell fish .. This is a decent fast food place located within the mall food court. My girls love to get the chicken teriyaki with noodles instead of rice. The food is decent, sadly the egg rolls and wontons were a little over done the last time we went. Also the sushi is premade and prepackage in a bento for the bento meals. The meat and rest of the items are fresh for the bentos. We will likely be back since it is my kids favorite, but we will steer clear of the bentos in the future. read more

I visited this store first way back 2016. I believe the owner was a Japanese elderly couple, and I met their grandson, who was the cashier back then. They always have good food and a great service, very humble family. After 7 years, I visited again, and it's still the best bento I've ever tasted. read more

They used to offer a side of chicken only. Now they don't...ok, fine; that stinks, but alright. Now? You (I'm not joking) cannot even pay full price to get only chicken - they REFUSE to serve the chicken without the rice/veggies. They won't even put it on the side. I typically don't eat mall food because let's be real it's been either sitting forever under lamps and service sucks, but today there was a guy really working it and asking people to try samples. He was so funny and friendly. He sucked me right in. Who doesn't like free samples?! The menu looked really good and a ton of people were there Both ordering and waiting for their food. They had three guys working very hard and quick at the grill area. I decided on the chicken bento box. Mine came with teriyaki chicken, friend rice, steamed veggies, 4 small California rolls, and gyoza all for around 8.50! That's an awesome deal. Especially when Panda Express next door is charging so much more for less food, nowhere near as good and lacking service compared to this place. I had my food in minutes all while I got to watch them make it. My only complaint was the sushi. Didn't look or taste too much like a real California roll. I still left with a happy and full belly. This place is our favorite Teriyaki chicken spot in town, The owner used to/still has another location in Tucson at the Park place mall and ever since I've moved to Phoenix I've missed it dearly and even some of the employees at this location used to work at the Park Place location in Tucson Az also. The food is just as delicious as it is in Tucson the fried rice is always soft and fresh as well as the chow mein noodles all made in front of you! The Teriyaki chicken is for sure our go to everytime even get the double meat depending on how hungry we are... This location is located inside the mall at the food court which has a good amount of seating but very busy pretty much at all times of the day but on days which that bothers us we just take our food to go and eat at home. Bright green and crunchy strands coated in toasted sesame oil is a delicious side, but hard to get it esp. at a reasonable price, so at $2.09 I happily added it to my Beef and Shrimp Bento Box and I was not disappointed. The outdoor seating area outside the mall's food court overlooking palm trees and distant mts. made me feel I was at some resort, except for the plastic throwaway plastic box and the lid they make you take even if you're eating the meal onsite (we really need to do away with all excessive unnecessary waste!) The dumplings were a little dry but the filling had a nice gingery flavor and the CA roll was fine, as was the main meal. Nothing extraordinary but for $9.99 it was a well balanced meal with veggies that didn't slither out of a can, and all was freshly made and some nice spicy notes. Remember to tip the very competent and pleasant chefs--they should put the tip jar near them rather than at the register--and remember to watch them prep your food on the griddle, ala low cost Benihana. read more

I prefer Japanese food over Chinese food and there aren't a lot of fast food Japanese places. Yes, Tokyo Joe's is out there but mehhh. When a restaurant similar to Little Tokyo closed in Scottsdale Fashion Square I was so disappointed. I always love to grab a speedy, made to order healthy lunch on a day of shopping. Little Tokyo filled the culinary bill. I ordered the Teriyaki Chicken Special with steamed rice and veggies. You can watch your food being cooked to order. It comes to you steaming and you can ask for extra sauté if you please. I prefer this healthy option to the other Asian franchise a few booths down. I like to know when and how my food is cooked. Disappointed...frequented this place years ago and son was in area and asked if wanted my usual...Teriyaki chicken with rice and vegetables. The vegetables were limp and seemed overcooked, the rice lumpy and my favorite the chicken was hard and stale mixed in with some fresh pieces. Wow, what happened?
