Decent first impression of Hawaiian Bros! My partner and I stopped here for a quick bite while running some errands. Since we weren't super hungry we decided the split the Molokai Mac Wrap and a Spam Musubi. The wrap is a fun take on a classic Hawaiian pairing. The flavors of the creamy Mac and the sweet heat of the chicken worked really well together. I just wish the wrap itself was warmed before it was filled. I personally don't love a room temp wrap. The Spam Musubi was decent - pretty average to others I've had previously. You order at kiosks by the entrance and they call your number when the food is ready. The attendant at the front was extremely friendly. She explained the menu in detail before we ordered. I don't live close enough to come here frequently, but would definitely return at some point in the future. read more

3.5 stars I have eaten here a couple times already and my opinion is still the same. I really do love the Honolulu chicken a lot. It has a wonderful flavor profile with garlic and sesame. I swapped out the macaroni salad for veggies and well... it was very mushy, yet flavorful. I probably wouldn't pay extra for veggies and just get more rice. I had the macaroni salad before and it's a bit salty. That's why I opted for no macaroni salad this time. Also, had Huli Huli chicken, which is teriyaki chicken. The protein portions are quite great. The rice, I would say, is really good at soaking up the flavors. I do think the rice bed set under the protein is genius. Overall, it's 3.5/5 stars for me. Hawaiian "fast food" is something new to us and we were pleasantly surprised with this place. We got a mixed chicken plate with half Molokai (light spice) and half Honolulu chicken (garlic teriyaki). It comes with rice and mac salad. Super good! Kids meal sizing was decent too for $7. We also got the sliders which were tasty as well. Hello Foodie friends...it was a Sunday night in Arizona. We were on our way home from a show out off of Cave Creek Road heading toward Peoria. Everything was closing or closed. That's when we spotted Hawaiian Bros was still open for a bit so we pulled through the drive thru. They do have quite a few items on the menu. They all sound so good. My favorite items were the spam Masubi and the classic Dole Whip! We enjoyed the dole on the way home and we had to play the sound track to the Disney Tiki Room. lol The spam Masubi was delectable. We also tried the garlic chicken and the Hoka Hoka Chicken and the Luau Pig and side of Mac salad. It was tasty. My fam enjoyed it. The only thing I found off was it seemed a bit more salty than I am used to. Even the Mac salad was much more savory and not as sweet as I like it. The portions were generous. Totally shareable. We ordered a couple spam musubi, huli huli chicken, Honolulu chicken, and luau pig, with the rice and mac salad on the side. The musubi were excellent as always. We liked both of the chicken, although my Honolulu chicken seemed a little overcooked (a little tough). The rice was perfectly cooked. We were on the fence with the luau pig (kinda salty). It does say in the description that they add sea salt. In my opinion, it didn't need it. We did not like the mac salad. It seemed heavy on garlic and salt. Most places, it's the first thing I finish. I only got through a couple bites. Keep in mind, this is our opinions, and tastes vary. If you can sample things here before buying, I might recommend that to see if the flavors suit you. The restaurant was clean, and they had water cups and smart stock wrapped utensils available. They also had restrooms, although they didn't provide seat covers. During our visit, there was a gas issue that delayed the rice for our meals, but Zach H was very thoughtful and ensured that each guest was comfortable with the inconvenience. Dang Memories feature reminded us two years ago we were in Kauai and we suddenly had an insatiable hankering for plate lunch. Off to Hawaiian Bros Island Grill we went. When we got there, the parking lot and dining room were pretty much empty, we thought maybe we had the hours wrong. No, turns out we just missed the rush because by the time we left, it was a packed house (both in the dining room and in the drive through). Our cashier was very nice and our food came out fast. We did the Huli Huli chicken, the Luau pork, rice and Mac salad. Craving was totally satisfied! The food was well seasoned and the meat was nice and tender. I would have liked a little more char, like a couple seconds on the grill, but that's just nitpicking. I also appreciated they didn't mix potatoes in with the elbow macaroni. The rice was nice and sticky. They give you little sides of teriyaki sauce as well. They had the delicious island juices and the soda fountain used basically shaved ice consistency ice. We rolled through the drive-thru here on our way to the Tanger Outlet Mall in Glendale. It was a half hour from where we were in Scottsdale. We had to get a quick something to quench our thirst and hopefully not pass out before we made it to the outlet, lol. When it's 116° outside, you better STAY hydrated!! So we got a fruit punch and Dole Whip. They hit the spot. I always start to feel a little lightheaded and dizzy if I'm in extreme heat, so a lil sugar fix usually gets me back out of grouch mode. My only downside to it is that one of the managers was just standing there talking about how he beat up some guy when he was at the bar. Like I get it's fast food and all but let's not forget you had 4 people in the restaurant which was super dead and it was quiet we all kinda looked at one another and were mortified that this guy was just talking to a woman about this like it wasn't a care in the world. But they know nothing about how to make the food. Just wanna make money off of someone's language and culture. They don't say any hawaiian words right that they're using to sell this knock off food. Their descriptions don't even match the food - the Huli Huli Chicken is NOT what Huli Huli chicken is or tastes like. Hawaiian word for Huli Huli literally means to turn over fire. Supposed to be roasted juicy slow cooked chicken. Instead it tastes like they precook chicken - chop it up and throw some on frying plate with watered down soy sauce. NO flavor. DRY. All the rest of the food is the same. Have tried 3 different plates - all horrible unless the point of their food is to douse it in globs of sauces they give out. The Mac salad is disgusting it mushes in your mouth like it's spoiled. The staff was so stressed out when I first went during grand opening week - they're throwing out hawaiian greetings that don't sound like they know what they're saying. They want you to walk in door - walk past window for food - go to kiosk - make order on it but you're in way of food window- they squish back past food window to cashier to pay for food. Poor layout and design ‍ so stressful. Just went back to get JUST a pineapple dolewhip thinking, maybe that's the only thing I can bring myself to eat there, I was wrong! Cashier was annoyed to take my order. The whole ice cream was hollow - they only fill up outsides of cup - once you take a spoon and open the top of ice cream you'll see the cup is barely filled. They want it to look filled but they cheat you even on that ‍ To any people hoping to find hawaiian food this is NOT it! I wanted to go here for the Dole Whip. That was really good. It was like lime pineapple flavor. It looked pretty when we left the restaurant, but it was a little melty in my hot little hands. It was like a salty Mayo mouthful of soupy noodles. Other than that, not really a lot of flavor. Nah bruh. I've been to Hawaii and it was way better than that. I was kind of annoyed that there was a lot of rice under the meat to make it look like you were getting more protein than you were actually getting. It was like $17/large plate. I'd hate to see how small the meat amount is if I had the "regular" size. Literally all of the chicken dishes were so so salty. They were cooked fine, just way too salty. Ok, this place isn't terrible but here's a review from someone (me) who lived in Hawaii for 20 years. I ordered the combo bowl with kalua pig (which I believe this company calls "luau pig"), and the honolulu chicken. First bite of the kalua pig - smoked taste is sort of on point, way too salty. Once I got over the extreme oversalting, I realized it was missing the cabbage. How are you going to do a Hawaiian classic - kalua pig - and not place it on a bed of cabbage??? Next I tried the honolulu chicken - honesty, it's really good. Then the mac salad - didn't expect much from reading peoples reviews on it, and it didn't look appetizing. It wasn't good, I ended up throwing it away and I am not someone to waste food. You know when you're in Hawaii having an actual plate lunch and you're excited because you can't wait to wash the meal down with that hit of mac salad? You know, THE Mac salad? That's not what this was. You won't get that elevation with this. I'd give this place 3 stars. It's not horrible but if you actually spent any time in Hawaii and are looking for that craving for some real Hawaiian food to be soothed, I'd prob skip this place, it doesn't fill that void. It's missing too much to be that classically "hawaiian" experience. If, however, you've never been to Hawaii or spent any long-term time there, at least enough to be aquatinted with the food and everything outside of a 4 day vacation, give this place a shot, you wouldn't know any difference. FOH employees didn't have an answer for the salty food other than it's the flavor profile, the guest across from us said the same thing about his food, the employee said the same thing as she told us. One would think if you are brand new and just open you would have your opening trainers working with the employees, there was only one person in charge running the location. This place is so good! Everytime we come here the service is amazing and the workers are sweethearts.They greet us everytime and take our order right away. I get the mixed classic plate with Kilauea chicken and the luau pig. It has the white rice and macaroni that comes with it and it is so freaking good, a mixture of spicy and plain taste. I love it and we usually get the food during the evening or late at night. It's usually pretty fast and the time we had a wait was about five to ten minutes so they gave us free dole whip for waiting. This place is pretty cool and the ambience is chill af. There was no reply. As I reviewed numerous customers' one, two and three-star online reviews regarding their customer service experiences at the Tucson Hawaiian Bros Island Grill, I concluded that it would be appropriate to validate their reviews. Profoundly Execrable Service! Not long ago, my wife and I arrived at the Tucson Hawaiian Bros Island Grill at 6:49 pm, placed our order and paid the bill by 6:53 pm. Fifteen minutes later, my wife asked a female employee when our order would be ready. After appearing to have spoken with someone in the kitchen, she told my wife that the vegetables associated with our order would require extra time to prepare. Twenty eight minutes after having placed our order, my wife approached the same employee a second time to inquire as to the status of our order. Once again, the employee offered the same explanation. The only other employee present for "duty" was a young male dressed in tattered jeans, sporting bare knees through the large holes at the front of his trousers. He continuously popped small, unidentifiable treats into his mouth, while standing near the kiosk where customers placed their orders. He, not unlike his female "colleague," clearly aware that we had been waiting for our meals for a prolonged period of time, demonstrated no initiative to confer with the cooking staff to move our order to the forefront. We waited as other customers received their respective orders in a timely manner. Finally, at 7:32 pm, my wife and I informed the male employee that we would prefer to receive a refund rather than continue waiting. Absent any sense of urgency, he stepped away from the kiosk and entered the kitchen to summon an employee who would, eventually, assist us with our request. Nearly an hour after having arrived, my wife and I received a refund in the form of cash. Apparently, the employee who refunded our money may have felt it was too much trouble to credit my wife's credit card. It was indeed the best decision to have departed the Hawaiian Bros Island Grill for an establishment where we received an excellent meal and exceptional customer service. In conclusion, it is abundantly clear that the employees we encountered at the Hawaiian Bros Island Grill are a reflection of their management's poor leadership. Adjectives such as indolent, apathetic and unconcerned accurately describe the behavior of the employees present that particular evening. To management's discredit, their employees' lack of professionalism is tantamount to disrespect for their customers. A score of zero is merited for their abysmal customer service. read more

We all enjoyed it so much that we ended up ordering the same entree, and it didn't disappoint. We also shared a generous dual soft serve of pineapple and strawberry twist--plenty for everyone to enjoy! Plus, there were lots of tasty Hawaiian beverages to choose from; the passionfruit orange drink was a hit with my son. The dish comes with juicy chicken over a bed of rice, along with an extra serving of rice and creamy mac and cheese. My only suggestion would be to swap the extra rice for some fresh veggies or Hawaiian pineapples to balance out the mac and cheese.
