My neighbor told me about Lizzie's Nut Free Bakery. Then I saw a special from them on TooGoodToGo which offers discounted restaurant and cafe food. I thought that is surely a sign to visit! I stopped in on April 14. I loved this bakery! Lizzie's Nut Free Bakery is a true gem for anyone with nut allergies or dietary concerns--and honestly, even if you don't have any restrictions like me, it's worth it. This bakery offers a completely nut-free environment without compromising on flavor, quality, or creativity. The bakery looks like a postcard with its floral design at the entrance, cute Shaker Heights mural, and all the delicate decorations. There's a few tables to enjoy your baked goods and coffee. It's like a bakery from a cute book with cute aesthetics and delicious baked goodies! My TooGoodToGo bag consisted of quiche, cookie, scone, and cinnamon roll. It was extremely generous for $5.39. I purchased another cinnamon roll and hot coffee. Everything was super fresh and delicious. As a nut lover, I honestly didn't miss the nuts. Oh, and their cinnamon rolls! I can rave about them forever! They were so delicious, fresh, and amazing. Try them! Service was very friendly and attentive. Every guest that I saw enter the cafe was immediately taken care of! I attended a cookie decorating class led by Caroline Weingart, and unfortunately the experience was not enjoyable. Caroline repeatedly spoke to me--a 47‑year‑old adult--as if I were a child, even scolding me for not putting enough icing on the cookies. The second time she reprimanded me, I asked if I was irking her soul, and she said yes. At the end of the class, she offered a half‑hearted apology as I was walking out the door, which didn't match the tone she used when criticizing and berating me earlier. I can't speak to the quality of the bakery goods themselves, but the class environment and instruction style made the experience uncomfortable rather than fun. read more

Cupcakes are my favorite thing and I must say so far I'm disappointed. I got a vanilla cupcake (it's the staple so if it's good usually everything else is good) a strawberry cupcake and a lucky charm marshmallow treat. Let me say the place is cute, clean and the staff was really nice. The vanilla cupcake was not good. The cupcake to frosting rational was off for me, and I actually didn't care for the frosting. My cupcake was dry and dense. My marshmallow bar gave a stale texture. I haven't tried the strawberry yet but will review when I do. I got there pretty much as soon as they opened so I'm going to assume everything was fresh. So exciting that Lizzie opened her bakery after wowing everyone at farmers markets (and still going!) for a long time. Ungodly good s'mores bars. The cookies are soft and super tasty. All products are entirely nut free. Also offers coffee, tea, and local lemonade beverages for sale. The staff members were friendly and mentioned to me that they recently opened. There were a variety of treats to choose from, including frosted sugar cookies, carrot cake cupcakes, vanilla cupcakes, blueberry muffins, and etc. There were also a couple of tables so Lizzie's would also be a great space to drop in with your laptop. I've really liked everything I've gotten at Lizzie's bakery! I have severe nut allergies (and lots of other allergies), and I've never been able to try more than one or two things at other bakeries. It's so nice to finally have a bakery where I can try everything! The staff were kind and accommodating, and are happy to provide ingredient lists for everything. I've been making my own baked goods for years and I think, automatically when you alter recipes to accommodate allergies (or gluten free, vegan, etc), textures and tastes will be slightly different from what people without dietary restrictions are used to. Lizzie's has done a great job despite this challenge. Everything I've tried (cookies, cakes, cupcakes) has been really good! read more

I heard so many things about this bakery, so we took the long drive all the way up there to check it out. I was rather disappointed by the lack of taste in the product that I tried. The young lady behind the counter had no personality at all. She seemed to be a little put off that we were ordering things to get to eat. We do not see ourselves making that drive again. read more
