Ordered a fender and fenderwell from them. Promptly recieved the new fenderwell, but the fender I did not recieve. About a week after ordering I recieved an email stating that the will call location had been shut down and was asked if another location, that was actually nearer to me would be ok, to which I replied "absolutely fine". I waited about 2 weeks and heard nothing, so I called and the sales rep assumed it should have been delivered to the will call facility, and transfered me to the facility. The facility told me that my order had been cancelled by me....At this point I called back the sales rep who told me my order didn't look cancelled on his end, so he transfered to customer service who were closed early. So I called the next day only to be told by customer service that I cancelled the order, and I would havve to reorder. I am now ordering the fender from somewhere else. LKQ is not professional, the different departments pass the buck and won't take any responsibility, was never offered expedited shipping because of their mistake. Bottom of the barrel customer service no matter who you speak with. Sold me a transmission for my Hyundai Elantra. I had it installed professionally at Hyundai dealership for $1,200 in labor. Turns out it leaked... pretty heavily too. Called LKQ and was told not to worry; just make a warranty claim and be reimbursed for the cost of the installation of the 2nd transmission once it arrives. Additionally, I had purchased the labor warranty for $134 giving extra "peace-of-mind" in the off-chance of a problem. Surprise!! Leaking transmission. Read the fine print of the labor warranty. They only pay $50 per hour labor (Good luck finding engine/transmission shop for anywhere near that rate - my local Hyundai dealer is $149 per hour) and use "all data" to determine what they will pay. I was charged $1,017 for the second transmission installation and they sent me a check for $295, which is $50 per hour at 5.9 hours. I am now out over $700 for the second transmission installation all because they sent a leaky transmission that was never checked and verified to be good. My review is a last resort - but I've tried resolving the matter with several "managers" and was met with a cold, short attitude and an unwillingness to discuss the matter - just scripted robotic responses and getting hung up on once they're done with their script. A real sad example of a business in 2022. I'd have no problem chalking this up to a lesson learned if they had not wrongfully sent a leaking transmission and refused to go good for it! read more

I needed a door for my 2016 honda, and an online search said that LKQ Denver on Kalamath St had one. I called and they were very knowledgeable in over the phone sales and shipping. They confirmed the part I needed, and quickly gave me a shipped price. I was able to order with my CC and it arrived within a week by truck to my curb. My biggest worry wad whether it would have any transport damage, having traveled from Denver to Seattle,, but it arrived packed about as well as I could have imagined. I've been in the used auto parts industry for over 30 years even dealt with LKQ in Santa Fe Springs when it was Lakenor auto salvage way back in the day.please understand that buying used auto parts is a risky deal to begin with and there is honest salvage yards out there but this is the first time I've been outright robbed by any salvage yard and LKQ is incredibly good at it.I called them to return a defective transmission that I purchased(07/23).When they picked it up they had written the ticket out as CORE RETURN not a defective unit and I didn't catch it.So I called them to explain and basically they're saying I switched the transmissions even though I have documentation that proves otherwise.it's been two months and I'm still waiting for a 'manager" to call me back because they're "looking into it".LKQ is a global corporation but be specially cautious of the fontana (ca.) store.this review is not over one star is a compliment to them.good luck. read more

Ordered an alternator that said it was from a vehicle with 45K miles. It came in with a broken mounting bolt hole, could not use. Upon calling their help line she said she would have a replacement sent out in a week. I said I wanted a replacement with comparable miles because that is why I paid up for this defective one. She said very harshly she can not guarantee any miles for the alternator, it could have 150k miles on it. I said that's not fair, the 45K mileage alternator was why I ordered that particular one. She said, sorry! I said that's false advertising she said........sorry. These guys suck. Do not buy from this company. After looking at all the other reviews I should have known better. read more

On the face of it this company looks like they have it together. Nice polished website with current inventory etc. In reality that's where it ends. First order with them was for an engine I needed right away. Placed the order and tried calling, emailing to try to get ahold of some one to pick it up with no response for three days. Second order I waited two weeks for a small part to arrive. Finally emailed them and this time they got back right away... but they didn't have the part. Were you ever going to let me know? You should absolutely stay away. They claim parts are tested prior to sending but they are NOT. They will send you junk without testing it first and then when you try to do a refund or exchange, they will come up with some excuse to deny it. I even paid extra for an extended warranty, and that turned out to be another worthless waste of money. I should have read reviews before I made my purchase. I had a written, emailed quote from the lkq sales person and decided specifically to go with lkq because the motor I was buying did not require a core. After giving them my card I was sent the receipt and found that they charged nearly $1500 extra dollars for a core (again the advertisement said "no core" and the sales persons emailed quote confirmed the motor price plus shipping. When I called the sales person she said her paperwork told her to charge a core - tried speaking to a manager 3 different times but only connected to one once which was fruitless. Not sure how this company is still in business. I immediately filed a Better Business Bureau complaint against LQK and have sent all the emailed dialogue with these crooks TO THE BBB. Cons: Called about a car they had just put out asking manual or auto.. he didn't know and wouldn't even ask the guys next to them if they did. I drive 30 minutes each way.. 4 guys behind counter.. only one is working.. helping a group of mexicans with something (they are all mex too) After waiting forever I just go around them and put my 2 bucks on the counter.. I grab another guy and ask him where a particular car is. "in the import section". Wow really? Thanks for the help there amigo. I walk out and they don't even have numbered rows FFS. I'm betting since it was 99% mexican that if you are a mex you will be treated well. Thanks for coming here to ruin my country after you trashed yours guys. Pros: They have wheelbarrows to use and a (disgusting) in yard roach coach. So that's a bonus I suppose. It also looked like you could rent or buy tools.. a big pile of (likely stolen) ones were on a table next to the coach... among all the other nasty greasy stuff that you would expect in a yard. So that could be a bonus for you losers who don't bring ANY tools. I've lent to 8 people at yards.. gotten my stuff back twice. The 2 guys that weren't mex returned theirs. See a pattern? If there is a minus 5-star sale of review I will not hesitate to use it, but there is only a one-star to barely reflect my disappointment with LKQ as a whole. I need a used Hyundai Sonata engine and I have done a great deal of research for LKQ' recycled Hyundai engines and printed all those used engine assembly's (2.4L) out by copying the completed list from LKQ's national website, up to the minute my mechanics made the order. My mechanics called the local LKQ operation at Ft-Worth Texas on morning of 10/10/2017 and ordered one from information provided by the sales man he talked to. The engine was found not shown up in LKQ's national website (where we can do search for all kind of parts). It is about $2000 investment so I want to make sure everything is OK, I sent a short written message inquiring why the engine was not shown up in their website like the others before our order. A woman rep called (from a number of 8006868494) me back abound 10:40 AM CDT (10/11/17). It made LKQ look responsive at the very beginning, however, what happened later defeated the entire purpose. In a very short period of time, this woman has demonstrated that she is the rudest and worst representative of any corporation. She was impatient, rush, a total non-listener, refusing to provide information even when I tried to provide her the part number of the ordered engine for a quick check (she turned down), speaking in an extremely annoying mood with bad attitudes. I am so surprised why LKQ would have hired a woman like this just to turn away all of its future business; that woman apparently is totally lack of any human and communication skill and with no training whatsoever to stay in this business. She has been placed in a wrong spot she is completely and totally not supposed to be in. By the way, the engine was sent the next day after my mechanics ordered it, however it did not come with completed paper works such as the documentation of the mileage the engine used so my mechanic sent it back and wait for the proper paper works. read more

I recently ordered a alternator for a 2009 dodge journey. I received an alternator for a 2010 chevy equinox which will obviously not go in my vehicle. I submitted a return request through their website and it has been a week with no reply. I have emailed them directly now requesting a return and refund due to i sucked it up and bought one from auto zone because i needed a drive able vehicle. If i continue to get ignored i will be reporting the company to BBB and also contacting my card company for being scammed. read more

Repair shops and consumers stay away. Our company purchased a low mileage engine only to receive it damaged. We refused the engine because it was not secured properly on the truck that it was being shipped in. It was rolled over when the driver was trying to unload the engine we told the driver not to unload it and to send it back. It took more than 30 days to receive credit, ( after countless phone calls). When we received credit, it was minus $200! I Do not understand why I have to eat $200 for their mistake. They sold me TWO bad engines never check their parts as the paper stated cost me an extra 900 for my auto work and had overall bad customer service when I called in to get help. We are a small auto dealership who has done business with LKQ on numerous occasions only to be let down and left frustrated after each dealing with them. We received an engine with a bad head gasket from them and then had to jump through hoop after hoop for any kind of reimbursement only to be given credit with the company worth approx. 60% of what the engine with bad head gasket cost us. We then ordered an engine for another customer's car, the first engine showed up with broken hardware, then next engine showed up literally pouring oil from the bottom of it and makes horrible noises when turned over, then the third shows up with zero compression and also leaking oil. Never again! Stay away from this company for your own sanity. read more

There is no way this company deserves a low star rating, they have helped me out greatly. And between locations, they all worked with me in my error. I ordered an engine online, thru EBAY, and when it was delivered my mechanic called to tell me it is the wrong engine. NO error with LKQ, I picked out the wrong engine!! UGH here I freaked because I am thinking I am about to lose so much money, but as soon as I messaged them the issue they called me right away, and had me contact their LA office. Along with that they have a POWAY office, cause I am here in CAlifornia. I found the engine I needed, they shipped to my mechanic and took the return along with the CORE engine and not only did they NOT charge shipping to get it to my mechanic and return the other two, but we were fully refunded on the return item within a week. Thank you guys! Your amazing and I would highly recommend your company to anyone with after market items. By the way, my daughters car is running great!! read more
