I came here because she came recommended but I wish I could say I had a good experience like others. First off, I got a terrible, uneven, not-what-I-asked for haircut. What I wanted was pretty simple: single layer, just below chin-length. What I got was a completely uneven messy cut and she cut it WAAAAYYYYYY shorter, it was at least a couple of inches above my chin, to the point that it could have been mistaken as an ugly bowl cut that was growing out. I had to part my hair in a certain way or the uneven length would clearly show when it was on the wrong side of the part. On top of it, I didn't opt for a shampoo but she charged me for a full shampoo, cut and style. NOT COOL. Completely shady. If you want to be ripped off, come here. She may get a cut right but she does not DESERVE to charge more than what people ask for. I can't stand shady business and that's what you'll get from this place. I'd rather pay more at a place that'll give me a good cut and they're honest about their prices. If you want to take the risk, by all means, you may get a good cut, as the person who recommended her did. However, they can be pretty shady on what they charge you, something I despise intensely. I hate a dishonest business and refuse to give them my business. I could get more value at a Supercuts or something. I recommend you take your business somewhere else, IMMEDIATELY! read more

I got my hair cut here about a week prior to writing this review. This was my first time at LN Hair Tech and previously I had gone to a bunch of random salons around Houston, paying 50-100 for a hair cut. I have medium length hair that I like to maintain at shoulder length. I was looking to reduce the costs of my haircuts since I am a college student. LN Hair Tech was cheaper and my haircut was equivalent or better than others I have had. The owner was extremely friendly and was able to take me immediately. The cut only took about 15 minutes, which scared me, but a week later the cut looks great even with no or minimal styling. In summary PROS: cheaper, quick, friendly staff, quality haircut, gave me what I wanted potential CON: smaller so might be a wait if there is a lot of people (but there was no wait when I was there) I would recommend LN Hair Tech. She has great attention to detail and is able to easily understand exactly what kind of look you will be happy with! I always ask her for Jennifer Aniston's hair from Friends and I am always happy with the result! I also ask her for subtle brown highlights on my dark brown hair and she is able to do them subtly as I have asked (many hair stylists tend to over do highlights). I'm trying to be fair here. I'll start with the good stuff. They have parking, and the salon itself was very nice and clean. The prices were fair. The husband who works here who washed my hair was very nice. Now here's the bad stuff. So the lady comes over doesn't introduce herself or ask me my name. Just starts brushing my hair and asked what I wanted. I figured she must be having a bad day so I just smiled at her and told her the type of cut. And that was it. No other conversation. But I just figured if she's having a bad day just let her be. The cut was very quick, but to the point I know she was rushing. She was just moving around so fast. And when it was time to blow out my hair, she called her husband over to help her, so now I had 2 people blowing out my hair, really rushing through and they finished in about 5 minutes. When I rush blowing out my own hair it takes me 15 minutes. I'm thinking to myself what's the rush I showed up on time and they took me right away, but they had so many people waiting, they overbooked themselves. Anyways she finished, the cut was good, style was mediocre. I was charged $45 and tipped her $10 which I though was generous, just because I felt bad if she was having a bad day. I got into my car and checked out my hair in the mirror (like we all do, lol) and when I ran my fingers through it, the roots were still wet, and my hair was very curly in the back, not straight like I was expecting after the blow out! I was very upset, because I paid $15 extra to have the wash and style added to my haircut, now i am home currently wetting all my hair to start blowing it out myself. I love this place. They are so professional and nice. It doesnt hurt that this is the most affordable hair cutting place I have found in all of Houston. I usually go in to have my hair flat ironed (it just comes out so much softer and straight than when I do it myself) and I like how they offer suggestions like if I want a trim while I'm there because they notice my ends are getting frazzled. If I say yes they just charge me the usual rate for the flat ironing and dont add on $$ for the quick trim like other places have done. I also dont mind if I have to wait there for a while until its my turn since they have so many magazines and also always have a tv on to watch. read more

I have been going to Candy ever since I was young! Not only is she fast at what she does but she never seems to disappoint. When I ask her about doing something to my hair she will always tell me the truth if I will damage my hair. Not like other salons where as they'll ask you to do more stuff just to get your money. I'd been trying to grow out a terrible haircut for a couple of months now, but I've been struggling every morning with it and today I decided I'd finally put my hair into the hands of someone new and attempt some desperate damage control. I was so right to go to Candie!!! She took one look at my hair, confirmed that it was a bad cut (it was nice to hear it from someone who knows what they are talking about!! :)), and proceeded to FIX IT! I found them thru yelp, due to the reviews I decided to try them out. It is a cute salon I have to say, however I wasn't impressed with my hair cut. I went in there wanting a new hairstyle, but came home with the same hairstyle ! Note that she charge extra for hair wash and she is the only person there to cut your hair. Also if you wanna try her out, make sure your already know what kinda hair cut you want. She can't design anything for ya ! I have had better haircut at a better price ! I ended up with a great base color but they didn't seem to understand that I wanted my highlights that day as well. I felt as though they didn't want to do both for some reason so I let it go. I must say this place is a hidden gem!. I just moved to houston a few months ago and was looking for someone to cut my hair. I hadnt cut my hair for over a year so it was all the way to my butt and one length. I wanted to get side swept bangs and some long layers. Candie did a wonderful job and exactly what i wanted. Came in on New Years Eve, walked right in with no appt & she was able to start on my hair immediately. I told her what I wanted & she understood. I only got a cut & she thinned out my hair, no style or shampoo,price was pretty high but she did an excellent job! When I got home I blow dried & straightened my hair it looks great. Candie cut my hair a couple of weeks ago. I have fine straight hair and just needed a couple inches cut off. She cut my hair dry and in about 15-20 minutes. And it looks great! One of the best haircuts I've had. Oh and the price! $26 for cut without wash and blow dry. And if you need a wash and blow dry the price goes up only $10. And the owners were so sweet though a bit chatty. But I didn't mind they were so nice and down to earth. read more

Still love this place. I last minute wanted to add a dye job to my visit and they did it no problem or complaints. They also were honest as I wanted to dye my hair light and I have black hair so they told me it wasn't going to end up like I'd want, and if I didn't want a dye job after all that they understood. My regular hair stylist is out on medical leave so I have to find someone to tame the curls. I searched for haircuts for curly hair and LN Hair Tech came up. I read the reviews and was cautiously optimistic. I got a quick hair cut. I have short (half way down my neck) curly hair. Apparently that medium length hair--they charge by the length. I told Candie I wanted half an inch off with long layers. The bottom half looks fine, but up top she forgot what I said--she cut way too much off. I don't know if she got distracted by the older curly haired women that she saw earlier or what, but up top it's too short and very old lady. The last thing you want to hear from your husband is, "You look like your mom." Thankfully curly hair grows quickly and I will try with someone else in a few months. Hopefully my usually stylist gets better soon. If you have your AARP card and curly hair, this is the place. If not, keep looking. read more

I've been using Candie since I moved to Houston from NYC two years ago. I am really selective and I've always been super happy with the cut and and my wife goes here too. I've sent her a few satisfied customers as well. Prices ridiculously reasonable and really nice atmosphere. She does excellent work w/ all kinds of hair - for both men and women (and kids too - my three-year-old daughter gets her hair cut here) and is fast. It's a husband and wife operation...
