I decided to give this salon a try based on the online reviews and since I wanted a major color change I wanted to be in good hands. Candie was able to fit me in without an appointment (but I will suggest to call ahead, it was luck that two appointments had cancelled) and she sat with me to talk about which colors to use and what look I wanted to have especially since I have thick, very dark hair. I chose highlights and the overall outcome was great, even felt like a celebrity when both Daniel and Candie gave me a blow out hairstyle before I left, which other places usually charge more. In my 40+ years of obtaining haircuts and color, I have visited every type of salon there is...from your very high-end day spas to teaching colleges, to your basic shopping center quick cut chains. I had THE BEST hair experience of my life here. Even though I did not have an appointment Candie and Daniel fit me in and gave me such a cute style. She was able to recreate exactly what I wanted. I lived in Houston from 2000-2004 and got my hair cut by Candie at L-N Hair Tech. I was always happy with the haircut and when I moved to California I would make sure to get my haircut by Candie whenever I would visit Houston. It's been years since I've been back, and just last week my friends and I went and got a Candie haircut. She cut off six inches and gave me the cutest haircut I have ever had. She charged me $27 which is an incredible deal! A haircut like this would have cost me at least $80 somewhere else. I highly recommend Candie! read more

This rating is based on services requested: a blow dry with an outward flip. I have very thick, long hair that's naturally wavy. It was clear that Candie was not experienced with my type of hair. On top of this, she seemed distracted. While washing my hair she splashed water on my shirt and on my face (not tiny drops). I thought no big deal - she's just distracted with the candle vendor who happened to be there and her grandson crying in the background. Then there was the actual blow dry. What a disaster. She used the blow dryer first but her brush/blow dry technique was nonexistent and wasn't working. So she decided to use a straightening iron. I've never had a hair dresser have to use a straightening iron for anything more than touch ups at the end. Candie used it as the main source of straightening. After that, my hair looked terrible and kind of frizzy-straight at the ends. So then she took the curling iron to create the flip look I had requested from the very beginning. She did a half baked job. At this point I asked her for the curling iron to do it myself. She gets two stars for caring enough to curl more herself rather than handing over the iron. The end result wasn't what I wanted, but at least it wasn't completely bad looking. read more

I asked for one inch trim around my hair. She cut 3 inches off and then said she barely took any off but I picked up the hair on the floor to show her. Now I have a short cut I can no longer put my hair up. It doesnt cover my neck at the back. I am devastated.I had a special event. I finally decided to drift from my current stylist and find another one. I felt compelled to write a review because I had such an excellent experience at LN Hair Tech. I called the day before and scheduled an appointment for a cut. The day of, I was 30 min late for my appointment due to traffic and underestimating the location, they were very understanding and accommodating. Once I got there I requested a root touch up for color as well. Even though I hadn't made an appointment my request was accommodated. Don't get me wrong, the place was busy! Candy and Daniel work so well together it's amazing! They were able to get me in and out of there within 2 hours! This was a huge plus. Now for the most important part, Candy did an amazing job on my cut. I have very thick hair and she recommended I taper the cut to suit my hair, she still gave me the cut I wanted and I love it so much. The price is very reasonable for a private salon that offers top notch service. I have already referred others and will continue to come back here again and again. read more

Love them! Theyre not the kind of people to shrug off what you say you want then do their own thing. They do exactttly what you ask. It took them one hour to do my color when my last place took 6 hours to do the same job! And LN Hair Tech did a much better job at it, and cost much less. They were able to lighten my hair and it somehow felt even healthier than it did when I walked in. My hair is down to my lower back and I think I paid $85 to lighten all of it. I was a walk in and Candie took me right away on a Friday afternoon (no one else was there). She sat me in her chair and asked me what I wanted and I told her trim it 2 inches and layers around my face and long layers in the back. Well, she started to brush my hair ( I have thick long hair), and she was doing it very hard to where my head was bouncing back and forth. Then she started cutting, on my dry hair. Never asked if I wanted it washed. She would just spray it when needed with a spray bottle filled with water which she had to refill because I have so much hair. She wasn't very friendly or talkative and after about 20 minutes she was done! When I got up from the chair I realized how much hair she had cut off and it was WAY MORE than 2 inches. It was easily 4-5 inches! She charged me $35 for the cut, no shampoo and no blow dry. Is the cut even? Yes. Do I like it? Other than it being twice as short as I wanted, its a good cut. Would I go back? Probably not. read more
