Came here for brunch on Labor Day and it was a surprisingly short wait to get seated. We ordered some chicken & waffles combos--I got the Toy-toy with a side of mac n cheese and collard greens. Our housemate asked for fried chicken for their birthday. We decided to come here and this place did not disappoint. The chicken is amazing. I had mine with waffles, eggs and grits. Everything was delicious on my plate. My partner ordered collard greens with her dinner - they were unexpectedly spicy, so I hope you're into that. Service was mostly good. We ordered a plate of the fried green tomatoes. They never arrived and eventually our server told us they were out. On the morning of our flight back home, we decided to get a quick breakfast here. Our girlfriend who lives here and has a past with Lo-Lo's wanted us to expereince the best chicken and waffles. I didn't get the chicken waffles but I did get their biscuits and gravy, homefries, and eggs. I couldn't believe the portion I got and how delicious the biscuits and gravy were. We sat down and when the food came out it was fresh and hot. We were able to listen to the music, sing, and talk; without feeling overwhelmed or trying to yell over it. We came from Virginia and our host here in Arizona couldn't stop talking about it. So we made sure we get to go there on the morning the day of going back. The place is kind of away from the main city but it was easy to find. The place is nice, clean and they have a lot of staff. We got seated right away and orders taken. So the eggs just got left untouched. When youre paying $20+ for a simple waffle and small pieces of chicken from a very streamline menu, you'd expect them to be done right. The decor is fun, modern, and filled with family pics. The service was ok. There were times when there were a few customers waiting to be seated, and nobody was around to help them. They had about 5 servers that day. Troy was good as he took care of us and was training a new server also. The menu has a lot of interesting and delicious items. You should find something you like. They have Kool-Aid! Breakfast All Day, Dessert, etc. Lil Amadi: One thigh and one drumstick or two thighs & one delicious waffle (4.5/5). The golden fried chicken was nicely seasoned on the outside. The skin was crispy and delicious. The meat inside was juicy as you would expect dark meat to be. The waffle was crispy, and it came with whipped butter and a nice maple syrup that was perfect in sweetness and not overly sweet. To start the area is not safe a homeless man was changing his clothes and washing himself across the street as we were walking in. Its right off the lightrail Ok not the restaurants fault. 2. Walking in the music was so loud it was more of a club loud then dining loud. Sitting at the table we were not able to hear each other. 3. The website showed the appetizer 3 for 21 they no longer had that so I just got the Okra and gizzard. 4. The gizzard had no seasoning it was bland overcooked and over battered. Our server was amazing! Even though she got sat a large party her coworkers made sure we were good! We sat outside and it was a nice day. The DJ was playing great music! The collards with turkey were good but it was a little spicy. The catfish and chicken were both seasoned really well and tasted great I just wish they were both hotter. Came in for a birthday breakfast with my mom and let our server (Sir Bjorn V) know, but he spent more time flirting with another table than helping us. We waited 25+ minutes for everything--to order, for drinks, and even for the check. We had to rely on other staff just to get basic service. The restaurant WASN'T even busy. Food was average, and the service was unacceptable--not worth the wait. What should have been a special birthday turned into a frustrating waste of time. No excuse for this level of service. They were really packed and I went on a Sunday morning, the day Chris brown performed in town and I actually admire how Lo-Lo's handled it. We waited around 40 minutes and when we came back everything was ready. Everything was rich in flavor from the crispy breading to the sweet drink. My Mac and cheese was great as well. Great food and atmosphere, but, you need 1.5 to 2 hours for lunch. They typically seat you fast, bring the drinks fast, then you wait for the food. We placed an order for two dine in, and one take out. The server read the takeout order from my phone. Three piece with Mac and cheese, and greens. Listen! This was not my first time at the rodeo and as always the food, the service, the atmosphere was all amazing. The place gets crowded pretty fast on the weekends because it easily passes the vibe check with a DJ onsite spinning both the latest and old school tunes. Our waitress was very attentive making sure to check in with us to see how we were doing. The food came out quick and was an abundance of fresh, piping hot goodness. We didn't have any complaints. Everything was delicious. I didn't think anyone could but being from California I can honestly say that Lo Lo's definitely gives Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles a run for their money.
