Visiting from St. Louis and this is one of the coolest coffee shops. It has two garage doors that open up to a beautiful deck. The breakfast sandwiches are unique but in a good way. A six for food but a zero for service... This was the worst service I have ever had at an eat-in restaurant. My boyfriend and I got there around 5:30 pm... Maybe this is not the best time to go, as it is mostly a breakfast place, but if it's still open there should still be a decent food selection and enough servers. When we got there, no one greeted us, and then a "waitress" came up to us, and before we even sat down, she informed us that she would be gone at 5:45... How are we supposed to respond to that? Super awkward confrontation, and instead of leading us to a table, she hands us menus and we sat right next to the cashier station. After sitting down for about 2 minutes or less, she comes back asking for our food order. Because of her comment about leaving soon, she was obviously in a rush to take our order so she could get out. AKA our time and money are not important to her apparently super busy life. So we ordered having barely looked at the menu. We told her that we would just take the food to go because we felt so uncomfortable and rushed. If they don't want people to dine in, they should not have a sign that reads "Dining In? Please Wait to be Seated". Five minutes after ordering our food, she brought the check. I purposely left it on the table until we left so she couldn't just take it and leave. When our food was done, the chef called out the order. We were still at our table, and obviously expected for the "waitress" to bring it to us... That was too much to ask. She was behind the counter and told us we could come up and pick up our food. She couldn't even bring it to us! What exactly is this person's job? To sit around and awkwardly rush people to leave while providing zero service for the customers who walk in? We got up, took our food, and left. The food was alright, nothing out of the ordinary or spectacular in any way. It was definitely not worth the price OR the service. We will not be returning, because we both work in the service industry, and know what real service is. No matter the restaurant or the people who walk in, there is a minimal level of politeness and friendliness that should be met. The service was completely unacceptable, which is too bad because I would have liked to try their coffee. Would not recommend. read more

Stumbled in here and it was such a delight! This entire shopping center has a plethora of hidden gems.. I had the privilege of enjoying brunch at Loaded Joe's and I ordered and LOVED the lamb scramble. My husband ordered the pork burrito which comes with ALL the breakfast meats, which was also very good. Although the portions aren't huge, I find it as a blessing since it's typical to roll out of brunch. More than anything, whats awesome about this place tho is the laid back ambiance! Loaded Joe's has many hats, great baristas and breakfast food in the morning , then a transition into live bands and music and a bar scene with pool tables at night. Smart concept to get the most money out of your day. How does it rank? The breakfast burritos and all other breakfast food is delicious. The coffee selections are liked. They have a great indoor and outdoor seating section. We have mostly been for breakfast but they are always fast and delicious. Of heading home early grab a hand held burrito and a coffee. Fuck this place. Food is pretty decent but service is outrageous. Whatever amount of time they tell you the wait for food is going to be, just go ahead and double it. Normally this kind of stuff doesn't bother me as we are pretty relaxed and understand the food and customer service industry. But I can't let this one slide. The amount of people standing around bullshitting while people angrily wait is astounding. And all the staff do to remedy the situation is yell at each other about who's fault it is. I've been a fan of Joe's since it opened. The coffee is the best in town, I love the addition of the roll up glass doors and larger patio, and enjoy the revolving local art that they hang on the back wall. Their new menu is surprisingly good for such a tiny kitchen. For breakfast their French toast with white peach and fig preserve is fantastic; interesting,sweet while managing to feel wholesome. I ordered eggs one morning and the accompanying tender belly bacon is unreal, so, so good. The salads are great, and I enjoyed the lamb burger with the sweet potato fries. I'm going back today to try the chicken wings with thai peanut sauce whilst getting some work done on my computer - it's a great option especially for locals who office from home. K, so had the wings, which were delicious, although why are they served with a side of ranch and bleu cheese? Weird, and unnecessary. read more

Just ordered take out. Got the chicken blt with the cucumber salad upgrade for 1 dollar. Well I just got home to eat it and the bun is super soggy from it sitting in the box with the salad. Nice combo of bar and coffeehouse, with surprisingly good selections in both directions--kind of a unique cast of characters, but it really is a local place--the karaoke is some of the Valley's finest people watching, but trivia night is really where it's at--even the 3 hipsters in town come out to play. We just went in for a quick coffee to go. The staff was mostly pleasant (although one guy wasn't overly welcoming). They were very nice about fixing a mistake (got a hot coffee instead of the iced we asked for). The Spanish coffee iced was delicious. The chai latte my kids got got high ratings. For breakfast, I had a veggie bagel sandwich that was fresh and flavorful and included both a veggie burger-ish patty and fresh veggies. My husband and I went to Loaded Joe's today for lunch. We have been part time residents in the Vail Valley for over 15 years and frequent many restaurants with our family and friends. I have never felt the need to write a review before, but was compelled to write one today after the horrible way we were treated at Loaded Joe's. I totally understand that post Covid, many restaurants are very short handed and both my husband and I exhibit patience and understanding when we go out. We try to tip higher than usual due to difficult times and realize that restaurants are struggling to repair much of the losses they have suffered this past year. However, kindness and respect go a long way, even if service is slow. We walked in at 1:15 pm and there was no one to greet/seat us which is not really a problem. We waited quite a bit before we could step up to a register to order. I could not see a menu because there was a customer at the counter. I reached over to take one of several paper menu's that were hanging by a clip to look at it and the cook in the kitchen snapped at me to "PUT THAT MENU BACK... THERE IS ONE AT THE REGISTER" in a VERY HARSH VOICE... Why would there be 3 paper menu's hanging by a clip if a customer is not permitted to touch or hold them??? He glared at me and never apologized or even acknowledged how he spoke to me. Then the gentleman at the register was borderline rude as he took our order.. I asked about a gluten free substitution for Avocado toast and was quickly shut down, saying, "It won't work with this order".. No problem, I quickly switched to a spinach salad with grilled chicken and my husband ordered a burger. Our food took quite a while, which, once again, we had no problem waiting for, because a burger takes longer than chicken. When it finally came, it was a totally different salad than the one I ordered and I was about to just eat it, but I was still upset about the whole process.. My waiter apologized and made it correct, so I have no problem with him. But the restaurant overall is just a total mess... No one to give you any direction if you should seat yourself, order at the register, etc... No one to show you where the water was to get your own drink.. It was just an utter lack of caring and disregard for the customers they are trying hard to win over. It was 1:15 pm, which is not an odd time between lunch and dinner when some restaurants slow down. I feel there is a definite lack of management, care and concern at Loaded Joe's and we will never frequent there again. The barista is still not wearing a mask as she makes coffee drinks. Oct 6. They are not following Covid regulations. The employees are wearing their masks on their chins, not their face. At best they have the mask over their mouth and not their nose. They appear to have it on their chin in case the health department shows up. This used to be one of my favorite places. After looking in several times and seeing the mask not covering the servers noses, I have no interest in supporting this establishment. read more

We stopped at Loaded Joe's after having lunch in Vail. It was a little difficult to find, but once we had entered through the gift shop, we found it to be cosy and cute. There was a great vibe there of young skiers having come off the slopes and looking for a hot beverage or a beer. We had a hot chocolate, a de-caf mocca coffee and another caramel flavored hot coffee. The service was good, the prices were very reasonable; especially for Vail, and the coffee's were delicious. We will make this a regular haunt when we visit Vail in the future. read more

First thing I got snapped at by the woman running the show, because i sat down at an outside table w/o putting my name on a list. Someone could have told us that while we were standing in line for our food. then, they lost our order and we had to start all over again. Apparently the computer broke down when our order was placed and the guy at the counter never processed the card, who turned out to be the dishwasher. When our food finally came out they forgot our side of bacon. Five dollars for two pieces of bacon. Really? The food is usually good and the drinks are hot but the service, other than the Barista who is sweet, tends to be gnarly. next time we're going to Northside. Wow! I walked in her and took a spot the bar area where many people can sit. I was ignored while others around me were helped. They wiped down the table in front of me all the while never acknowledging me. They helped everyone around me and then others that walked in after. I finally asked who my server was and a young man asked a girl with brown hair and she said you take her. He brought me my menu and water. She was the one who may have had the racial issue. I'm assuming it was a racial thing since I was the only Hispanic person there, and she was my server and didn't want to help me. It was not busy at all. This is by far my favorite place in the entire Vail valley. It's a laid back coffee shop by day (with incredible coffee btw) and super fun bar/lounge by night. The fact that tons of locals flock here is a testament to the quality of the drinks and friendliness of LJ's staff, but even if you're in town for a couple days or staying at Beaver Creek, it'll be worth your while to stop in for a coffee or a pint. I'm pretty much a beer guy, but Loaded Joe's cocktail selection is pretty awesome and the bar tenders know what they're doing. read more
