She then came back and said "it has pecans! Is that bad?" And I said "yes. Kinda bad" Luckily because I only had one bite and then proceeded to chew on a few Benadryl I ended up being okay and my throat and lungs were all back to normal in an hour or so, even if I had to spend my day in bed high on said Benadryl. If I had eaten any more of the sandwich though, I very easily could have ended up in the ER. All that to say - the menu does not make any mention of pecans being in the chicken salad, either in-store or online. Which is strange because tree nuts are disclosed in some of the other menu items. This feels like a bit of an oversight, no? Fellow nut allergy-havers: do you avoid chicken salad altogether? Am I ignorant for not knowing the risk of ordering chicken salad? She said it was because some people would set up and work all day, but if I had my laptop out, no one would bother me. But like three seconds after taking out my laptop, someone who might've been a manager told me I couldn't, that they wanted customers to sit and chat with one another. Never mind that I was alone, no one else in the seating area I was in. And this was after I'd gotten breakfast, coffee, and pastry. I told her someone said it was fine and she just said she was sorry someone told me that. No 'it's ok for now,' or 'as long as you're eating' or any other sort of gesture to make me feel like I wasn't unwelcome. So I was upset about that. Like WHY no laptops? Why not a time limit on the tables, if that was the problem? Could I bring a tablet instead? I could write on my phone if I wanted carpal tunnel. What does it matter what I do if I'm not bothering other ppl and not staying more than an hour or two? I understand their problem, but the solution just serves to deter solo patrons.
