I have been seeing this truck around town for several years. The other day I saw one parked in South Pasadena and was driving by, so thought I would pick a lobster roll up for dinner. There was one gentleman running the whole show, including taking orders, payment and preparing the food. He appeared to be quite efficient and was friendly and polite. I ordered the lobster roll with prawn butter which just sounded fantastic. I didn't order any sides or drinks since I was taking it home and had some other accompaniments for the meal. Lobster rolls in general are on the lighter side. I have quite a small appetite but even I could have eaten something else afterward. However, the rule had a fair amount of lobster meat in it including pieces of claw, the more prized cut. The toast was crunchy and soft inside. The melted butter was served on the side so it wouldn't make the bread soggy. I noticed there was a fancy hot dog on the menu with good quality meat. I guess that is for the person that doesn't want lobster but I'm not sure why they would even approach the truck given the theme. Overall it was quite an enjoyable experience. read more

Yikes. I drove to Carson on 8/21/2025, but the truck was a no-show. I tried again the following day (based on the schedule that was posted on the website), yet the truck was missing in action. It's a slap in the face to post a weekly calendar, yet no-show 2 days in a row. Since no-showing seems to be a common practice, I won't bother returning. read more

Had the Lobsta roll with butter and a side of Chowda. Both were delicious through and through. The roll was filled with lots of juicy- large pieces of meat (including claw), just perfect with the crispy, buttered roll. The chowda was savory and rich, full of wonderful flavors of smoked bacon, clams - sooo good. Well this sauce, I believe, was literally designed to go with seafood, especially lobster with a ton of drawn butter. Found the truck and thought let's give it a go. Wish I had NOT had that idea. Bland should not be the first descriptor of a lobster roll but that's what you are going to find here. Heard good things about this specific lobster truck and it does live up to the expectations but I absolutely could have ate 2 on top of the clam chowder. The bread looks so good and it taste just as good!!! It was crisp on the outside and moist on the inside! My wife is from Maine, so she's really picky when it comes to lobster rolls, and I've learned her ways having traveled to Maine a lot since we met. We love the rolls from the Lobsta truck. We live in Sherman Oaks so it's convenient when they're in the area and we always stop by if we happen to catch them. The gentleman who always takes care of us (shame on me for not catching his name) is always very friendly and polite. I'm surprised to see comments that say otherwise. Also, their hot sauce, DWAI, is amazing. I consider myself a bit of a hot sauce connoisseur having collected dozens of hot sauces from countries all over the world, growing my own peppers, and making my own chili oils and sauces, and this one has quickly become one of my favorites. Got my pandamit lobster roll fix at the Lobsta Truck. The rolls are buttery, toasted, and lots of lobster. The bun is what appears to be a Kings Hawaiian bun. Not very big but good. Can get extra meat. Price is $14, but Lobsta rolls are not that plentiful. For me, quality is worth the price. Also, the clam chowder is very flavorful and clammy. My dad found this truck through a facebook food group he's part of and since he is a fan of lobster rolls, we thought we should try it out. Before I begin, I do believe on their website it tells you where the truck will be located. There was only one person working the truck so it was a wait for the food but my family didn't mind. When we ate the food we were very big fans of it. I got their crab roll and it was delicious! I took off two starts because of their price and portion. Really bad lobster and crab rolls at Lobsta Truck. We ordered the lobster roll and crab roll. I hoped to try at least one of their two soups, but they ran out. To start with the lobster roll, it was a disappointment. It was very bland. It was well cooked lobster, with a nice tasting butter. Though, you don't really get much flavor from just lobster and butter. There was no other seasonings, maybe some paprika, or even celery bits would be nice. What you have is a bland tasting lobster roll. Another big upset is how there were pieces of shell. I thought at first it was just one bite, though it was on multiple bites. The crab roll was another problem. Surprisingly the lobster had more flavor than the crab roll. What I personally like was how the crab was really juicy. Though again, it was bland. There was no seasoning whatsoever and no additional components. The bread for both rolls were cheap buns. The flavor of the bread was a nice sweet and toasty. The presentations were not so appealing to the eye. Again, no greens or other components to complement the rolls. The quality tasted well actually. Both the lobster and crab tasted fresh. The portion is upsetting. The rolls were both unfortunately small. You're paying 15 dollars for 4 bites. The price does not match the portion. I finally had to the chance to try this truck when it was in El Segundo last week. It's been on my radar since it first opened. Last month I was in Boston so I had the true lobster roll pretty fresh in my mind. It definitely can't compare but I thought it was still good. My friend and I split both the butter and mayo lobster roll. We also got a cup of their clam chowder. We both agreed that the mayo one was better. The lobster on both rolls were a little inconsistent. Some pieces of lobster were tender and some were a little rubbery. I did like the toasted bun they used. It was toasted perfectly with a little bit of butter. The chowder was creamy but didn't have a lot of clams in it. Total for one roll and the soup was $16. Pretty expensive if you ask me. I have to give this truck an update with an extra star because I've had their competition...Cousin's Maine Lobster. The lobster rolls and bread is better here at Lobsta. Cousin's mayo lobster roll is stupid, all they do is squirt a line of mayo on it and place "normal" cold lobster meat on top. I made sure to hit Lululemon to try on the spandex BEFORE heading to them to pick up some lunch ;) They were parked on Ventura Blvd in Sherman Oaks in-front of Guitar Center from 12P - 230P (street metered parking available) No line, a few people getting into their cars with their lunches and a few others sitting down eating. I walked right up and ordered (they accept debit cards). I had their Lobsta roll $12 with butter (because regardless of how crazy I get mayo will NEVER in this lifetime be an option for me) then I spotted a blueberry bottled soda OMFG! I'm in LOVE with blueberry so I knew I HAD to try this. These two were the most perfect combo! The lobster was so fresh and delish, perfectly shredded not to thick not too thin, texture was perfect, bread was perfection. I was so impressed. I could also probably eat two of these Lobsta rolls if I wanted to, but I will pace myself and perhaps even eat it in the car or on the sidewalk next go around. I casually tried to walk over, but failed and ended up half galloping, half sprinting, to the truck, just to be sure that I would beat the typically nasty lines for this truck. I decided to order a pint of their clam chowder (which I've heard so much about) as well as a Lobster roll, 1/2 butter and 1/2 mayo. As soon as I got the food, I dug in... and the food definitely met expectations. Though the clam chowder was just the slightest bit watery, I could barely tell because it was so creamy and rich! As for the lobster roll... I couldn't really tell the difference between butter and mayo but it was still so good! Overhyped!! Expensive, not as warm as expected, but it's lobster! The truck was outside the office building that I work at, so some coworkers and I decided to go check it out. All the responses regarding the taste were positive, but everyone agreed that it was very pricey for the size of the food. When I heard "lobster ROLL," I thought of more of a roll, more premium bread kind of thing, but it came on some buttery toasted white bread instead. I also expected the lobster roll to be warm, but pieces of the lobster were COLD! Yeah, lobster is expensive and whatnot, but woooow.. this truck must be making such a great profit because white bread = cheap, drinks are overpriced, and there wasn't /that/ much lobster inside the lobster roll. It took us more time to go outside, order food, get the food, go back to the building than it did for us to eat the lobster rolls.
