This was my first time visiting Smorgasburg LA, although I've dined a few times at the adjacent Row DTLA. I had researched the vendors and knew I wanted to try Lobsterdamus, which I did right at the 10 am opening. I think I was their first customer; they were still preparing the lobster dishes to put on display (do those display dishes get thrown out at the end of the day?!). I ordered the half Lobster Nest--grilled lobster over garlic noodles with Cajun butter. They gave me one of those beepers that light up/vibrate when your order's ready. When I went to pick it up, all the dishes were on display and there were more that I'd like to try eventually. Even under the best of circumstances, lobster can be difficult/messy to eat. I had brought my own containers and shopping bag, so I repacked my lobster (plus all the other things I got from other vendors) and took it to my near by hotel. The lobster and noodles were delish. The claw was partially pre-cracked but still needed more effort to get all the precious meat out, so I'm glad I had soap and running water nearby. Plan to return.

Cashier provided good service. I order lobster nest (lobster & garlic noodles). Wait time about 15 minutes. Their was no line when I ordered. Loved lobster presentation that it. Lobster was extremely tough, extremely disappointed. Noodles was delicious just not enough. I was disappointed all together. Paid $52 (tip included) for tough lobster. Maybe off day but I will not return. 2 stars for lobster. 3 stars for garlic noodles. Customer service 4 stars.

Lobsterdamus was our first stop at Smorgasburg. After looking at the menu online, we had decided on the Lobster Nest (whole) and Lobster Nachos. Sadly, the nachos were not available that day. We went ahead with the Nest and added the Cocodamus. We watched as our lobster was grilled and placed on a bed of garlic noodles, along with a side of melted butter. The lobster was tender and tasty. The noodles seemed just a tad dry, but flavorful nonetheless. The Cocodamus was a nice complement to our meal. Everyone was really pleasant and accommodating. Hopefully the nachos will be available at our next visit.

I came to this stall at Smogasburg in LA, with very high expectations. Basically, they offer 4 core lobster dishes. They are lobster noodles, lobster fries, deep fried lobster and mesquite grilled lobster. For the latter two you can have half or whole lobster, and that too with or without garlic noodles. I chose the whole Lobster Nest, which is mesquite grilled live Maine lobster with cajun butter and garlic noodles. The lobsters are small, but were grilled well. The tails were juicy. The garlic noodles were dry and lacked flavor. When purchasing this lobster dish ($44 plus including tax), I asked if they would crack the claws and they said they were cracked and showed me a dent in each claw. However, this was not sufficient to break open the claw or the knuckles. I saw many patrons suffering to open up the claws, at the possible expense of cutting and hurting themselves. I brought my two lobster claws and arms home and cracked them open with my efficient lobster crackers. Service was hurried.

We visited Smorgasburg for a late lunch and stumbled across Lobsterdamus and were pulled in by the lobster nest. We got the lobster nest with half a lobster. The lobster was grilled to perfection and super tender. It's perfect dipped in the garlic butter they give you on the side. The garlic noodles were good as well but a bit dry even with the garlic butter poured on top. I wish the noodles themselves were more seasoned but overall great for a food market lobster dish.

While walking around Smorgasburg, this stall really stood out so my friend and I decided to give it a shot. Thankfully the line wasn't too long and the wait for the food after ordering was pretty short! Service was nice and quick. We ended up just getting the lobster fries (so we could try other foods too) and in my opinion, they were alright. Be forewarned though that I'm not a huge fry person. My friend on the otherhand, LOVED them. The fries were garlicky and crispy, with creamy aioli on top. The lobster was also amazing with the fries and grilled amazingly. Definitely to each their own--not my personal favorite, but definitely my friend's.

Lobster, garlic & noodles in one dish!?? Lobsterdamus was practically calling my name...it's a carb lover's dream!! I loved the Lobster Garlic Noodles ($15) so much that I got in line again to try the Lobster Fries ($20) too! Both were loaded with lobster & cheese & packed with garlic flavor. Pro tip: pack some gum LOL Smorgasburg is an open-air food market located in Row DTLA open from 10am-4pm every Sunday!

Great stop at the smorgasburg in dtla. Their menu is of course, filled with lobster. I like the pricing of the garlic noodles and I hope it remains that way. The lobster meat was very tasty. Food came out pretty fast. Plenty of benches to sit at and eat.

While visiting Smorgasburg (huge foodie festival every Sunday in downtown Los Angeles [10am to 4pm]) I wanted to get some lobster. And the only food stand that I could tell that had lobster was Lobsterdamus. Walking around Smorgasburg I saw people eating these plates of lobster with garlic noodles, weather they were sitting on the floor, on the grass, or at some table they managed to find. And anyone walking by was making comments like, "OMG, they have lobster!", or "DAMN, that looks good!", etc. So after finding Lobsterdamus (it's the one with the 30 minute line), I got my order for the lobster nest. Lobster Nest ($36 + tax) - This consisted of a whole lobster (1.25 lb) drizzled with butter and seasoned to perfection on a fiery grill, served on a bed of garlic noodles. The lobster was flavorful and so delicious. The garlic noodles consisted of yakisoba noodles sautéed in garlic confit, soy and lemon. They were perfectly prepared and had a very strong garlic flavor which I really enjoyed. Overall the Lobster Nest at Lobsterdamus tastes phenomenal. The only complaint I have is the price. After tax I'm spending about $40, which is a lot, considering that the food is served on a paper plate and the don't offer a place to sit. It's an extremely casual environment, with high end prices for their dishes.

The price was fair and the lines moved fast. I got the lobster fries and it was ok I felt like it was missing something. Maybe next time I'll try the garlic noodles.

I've always wanted to try a plate of garlic noodles and lobster from here and it did not disappoint! We got the salt and pepper deep fried lobster which was cooked perfectly and it went so well with the garlic noodles. I definitely recommend getting yourself a plate since Lobsterdamus is a must on any foodie's list! I would 100% order from then again the next time I head to Smorgasbord as well.

These guys don't miss (layups or 3-pointers). From lobster fries to a full on lobster split dead center slathered with garlic butter herbs and noodles, they got it all. Catch them at the ever popular "Smorgasburg" in DTLA when the season is right and hop in line (cause there will be one). Fresh lobster on a bed of garlic noodles is my personal favorite and although they still won't tell me their recipes I forgive them. The chefs are talented and it's a great family business with an amazingly positive staff. If you're into fries they'll make a loaded plate that'll change ya life I promise. One thing is for sure here if you walk around with the plate afterwards multiple people will stop you to ask where they can get it. Thank me later, follow me now, stay eatin' bruh!

I came across the Lobsterdamus pop up at the Filled Market in DTLA. Everything gets made right outside under the tent and the smells immediately caught my attention once I walked into the vicinity. My boyfriend and I split the Salt N' Peppa Lobster nest which is a 1lb whole deep fried lobster served with jalapeño garlic oil + ponzo sauce on a bed of garlic noodles. I'm glad we split it because it was a little bit on the pricer side ($37 or so with tax + tip). Even though we ate it right away, some of the fried parts had already started to get soggy. They also do not pre-crack the claws for you or give you crackers, so it was difficult if not impossible to get the meat out of there. The claws are one of the best parts of the lobster so I was a little bummed. The garlic noodles were good and make the dish filling since the main edible piece of the lobster is just the tail. All in all it was good, but a little bit on the pricey side in my opinion.

There are 3 different dipping sauces which are delicious. It is a lot of food. You definitely get your money worth here. The staff is friendly and attentive. They cooked the seafood at the table. The air ventilator is pretty good but I probably won't wear my must dry-clean clothes to dine here. Overall, Burnin' Shell did live up to its hype!

Found Oyster is located in East Hollywood, on the same street where Saffy's is. It can be a bit hard to find street parking nearby because of neighborhood rules, but we managed to find a spot after circling a bit. The restaurant is very small, but it has both indoor and outdoor seating. I think the size of it adds to the charm. It also has a nautical theme inside and a New England feel about the place. The seating options inside are either at the bar, or tiny high-top tables. For appetizers, we shared the peel and eat prawns, half a dozen oysters and the sicilian crudo. Everything was good, but the servings were smaller than I expected. I also think that the peel and eat prawns would have been pretty mediocre without the special sauce. For mains, my husband got the lobster roll, while I had the mussels. His lobster roll was good, but in my experience it's hard to go wrong with buttered lobster on bread served with fries. My mussels were fresh and tasty. They were good, but nothing to write home about. Service was friendly and efficient.

We opted for the grilled halibut and seabass dishes with garlic bread, rice, salad, and ceviche. Even though it was a little cool from the rainy weather, it was still nice enough to eat outside in an enclosed patio with electric heaters. They also have two restroom facilities for any bathroom needs. The main area where we ordered was also where we picked up our orders. We also had the option to call ahead and place orders for pick up/to go. Those were processed in the Seafood Market section (where they had different fresh fish and seafood options). The food was pretty good--opted for garlic butter sauce for the fish and it was the perfect complement to the halibut, but the sea bass was honestly so tender that it needed no sauce. The salad and dressing were as expected. Same with the rice. All of these portions were pretty big.
