I was pleasantly surprised by this spot because when we tried the salsa trio and chips, my hopes for a good Mexican place was dashed. The house salsa was mild and tomato heavy. The mango salsa was over sweet and the chile salsa, although it looked promising like mole, it tasted like spicy ketchup. However, the actual food was pretty good. This is not really an "authentic" Mexican place... think more el Torito or Acalpulco but better. I had the salmon with cilantro lime rice and black beans all of which were well cooked and had good flavor. My husband got the birria tacos and while the soup/sauce you dip the taco in was lighter and thinner than expected, the flavor again, was good. The taco beef was tender. This place had the potential to be so good! The food that we did get to enjoy was very tasty with great presentation up until we ordered the salsa flight, and as I dipped my chip into the salsa, I pulled up a long salsa-covered hair. Disgusting. Our sweet server brought it back and to the kitchen notified the manager. To which the manager then brought our food back out without acknowledging the situation at all or even giving so much as a sorry. He just preceded to set food down without a word. When we asked if he was aware of the situation he responded "Oh yeah, they told me. I took the chips and salsa off of your bill." The food service industry had truly gotten away from its core values of good food and good service. I have been here a couple times while in town for work and I love this place! Food is great with a fresh take on traditional Mexican dishes. They use a lot of great produce and lots of stuff seems made from scratch. Cocktail menus rotates and always has a fun and different selection. Be brave and try something new. it will pay off! I usually roll my eyes at the "upscale" takes on taqueria fare and find an authentic joint, but sometimes you gotta see what it's about. I've been to LL 3 times now and I can totally see the appeal. Food is creative (for the most part) and well executed. I've got no problem with paying for those yummy, greaseless chips and my choice of great salsas. $3 guacamole at Happy Hour? Yes please! I've now been through the fish, shrimp, ahi, zucchini, fried chicken and grilled chicken tacos and all have been pretty yummy. Of those, ahi, zucchini, and grilled chicken were the standouts, believe it or not. I'm not at all a fan of a little cup of cabbage with a blob of dressing on top being called "slaw" - slaw implies it is dressed, and that ain't, and the container makes it next to impossible to do yourself. I would be impressed if they tossed it in the kitchen. Surroundings are beautiful and I've had good service each time. But the bar menu is EPIC, if you enjoy tequila and mezcal, and I'm not aware of any other place in NWA with that kind of variety. Top notch! This place is amazing. My main complaint is that they are not bigger or don't have a second location. If you come with a party larger than two, good luck getting in anytime after five pm any day of the week. With that said, this place is absolutely delicious. You cannot go wrong here. I usually get the Steven Special with carnitas. My mom and boyfriend often get grilled chicken tacos. I really enjoy their queso and salsa trio. What a nice discovery, I went to this place with friends while on a work trip to Arkansas. Place was packed but we did not have to wait much to be seated. Our waiter came immediately to get our drinks and appetizer order. The chips and salsas were very good. I got the ahi tuna ceviche which was delicious and really fresh. When I asked for their hottest sauce they brought me something they prepare in house and it really hit the spot. I also had to try a small serving of the tortilla soup and was pleasantly surprised. Place is clean and very family or larger groups are accommodated in their large tables. This place has incredible mexican food! In my opinion it's a tad overpriced but the food was great and the drinks are awesome too. I had a paloma which was a little on the strong side but also refreshing. I appreciated that they had gluten free tortillas and the homemade shells were so yummy. I would recommend the enchiladas, I don't eat much meat and I was really happy with the spinach and artichoke enchiladas on the menu. We came in with our wild child and asked to sit in a booth. The two hostess said it was fine, but said someone would clean the booth shortly. As they both of them stood there not taking initiative, it wasn't very impressive. We decided to just sit down to try to give out little one some snacks and the waitress made it by to clean the table. I've worked in the restaurant business for years and never have I seen a hostess not go help out their staff. However the food was great. I have been to the Local Lime in Little Rick several times but not here in Rogers. They have done a great job in remodeling and decorating this location. Even though they were very busy at lunch service we were greeted and seated quickly and met by our server. We placed our orders and our food was delivered very timely. I had the Dixon Chicken enchiladas and my wife had vegetable tacos. The serving was fairly large and as expected, was vey good. Last night in the Rogers / Bentonville area and I wanted a good hot meal. Had an early flight the next morning so went for an early dinner. I'm glad I did. This place was packed. Luckily I found a single spot at the bar (yes, my regular seat) as the wait was probably 30 min for a table at 5:30pm on a Tuesday night. Bar was packed the whole time I was there and bar tenders were helpful. Would have appreciated a heads up that happy hour was almost over (4-6) to place another drink order, but lesson learned. Lots of good food and drink choices on the menu. While I am more of a bourbon guy, they had lots of tequila options and a really good margarita on the rocks with salt (they also had frozen margaritas) I went with the 3 tacos combo with 2 sides and really liked the carnitas pork and cilantro rice side drunk beans were ok. Bentonville seems to have a large # of Mexican restaurants and Table Mesa is my favorite, but Local Lime gave it a run for its money. It wasn't too crowded on a Tuesday evening and we were seated quickly. The service was friendly and effective. I enjoyed the salsa trio, but was a bit disappointed chips & salsa weren't standard with the meal. I had the fresco bowl and added salmon which they were willing to cook well done with no challenges though the standard temp is medium. It was filling and fresh. Been meaning to come here forever and FINALLY got my chance. Always in the mood for Mexican food, I knew whatever happened would have to be good. Except it was BETTER! I loved everything I ate and wanted to try at least 10,000 things more. Here's what went down: Guacamole - amazingly fresh! One of the best I've ever had. Chips were homemade too. This was an excellent start to the meal. Local Chorizo Tacos - out of this world! Holy moly. Spicy with this luscious avocado creme on top. I couldn't get enough of it. Soooo good. Black Beans - these were a little spicy as well but had excellent flavor. Jicama Jalapeño Slaw - so nice! A great contrast to all the spicy things. Carnitas - one of the best hubby has ever had! (And he's had A LOT.) Crispy Ahi Tuna Taco - this was the only "meh" for my husband. He wasn't a big fan of the blue corn shell, for one. Tuna was seared and diced but it could've had more flavor. Good taco but not a fave. Beer Battered Shrimp Taco - very good! The shrimp was plump and juicy. Beer batter was delicious. One more layer of flavor would have been okay. Sauce on top was good, although the taco as a whole was a little dry. Maybe the slaw on top could be tossed in something. Spicy Pickled Veggies - these were surprisingly yummy! Carrots, cauliflower, celery I think all covered in vinegary goodness. Drunken Beans with Bacon - smoky pinto beans; an excellent alternative to refried beans. Loved them! Overall, everything was clean and fresh and you felt like you were eating healthy, although I'm sure that's mostly not true. Everything was presented in a pleasing way and looked so delicious. And of course, tasted even better. We will ABSOLUTELY be back! read more
