We've been going to Locatelli's almost since the beginning but in terms of pizza the quality has fallen dramatically. The quality of their ingredients seems to have declined. A thin crust pizza should come out piping hot! Locatelli's has started pre-cooking their crusts so all they're really doing is melting the cheese on top. The pizzas typically are coming out warm & nothing like you would expect from a cooked to order pizza parlor. The new Crust pizza locations in the neighborhood make a much better pizza. I believe they survive these days because of their music on the patio. We still go occasionally, but it's more for the ambiance and some of their other food items (meatballs, draft beers, salads) than the pizza. It's sad to see what used to be a great place become mediocre. read more

Came to Locatellis late after a tiring shift and was helped by Miss Lisa. Her service was very helpful on our first time here together! We order the chicken parmigiana, baked ziti, and split a 13" pizza. My half was the blancatelli with no pineapple and I added ricotta cheese and my boyfriend had the new mexitelli on his half. Everything was still fresh made even though it was later in the night before they closed but they still provided great service with smiles on their faces. Very clean environment with good music and light hearted atmosphere. 10/10 would recommend this location! Very nice place to have a good meal read more

We ordered to-go, so I cannot speak for the ambience and service, so this is strictly a food review. We ordered a meat lovers pizza, lasagna, and mozzarella sticks. The meat lovers pizza was delicious, crispy, yet doughy. The toppings tasted fresh and the marinara sauce did as well. We didn't eat it all that first night but the leftovers were just as good, maybe even better. The lasagna was incredible, the portion was also good enough for two people, specially since we had a pizza. It was so cheesy, the sauce was delicious, and the meat well seasoned. Definitely one of my favorite lasagnas I've ever had. Mozzarella sticks were just as good as the other two plates. I jokingly told my wife that they had ruined mozzarella sticks for me because these tasted fresh and real unlike 99% of mozzarella sticks from other restaurants, lol. The pizza is so good and their Telli Fries are amazing, however they are not on the menu so you just have to know about them to order them. They seem to be really popular as we see people ordering them every time we go, which is usually two to three times a week. Being that they are not on the menu you can't order them if you are using uber eats or door dash. We think it is crazy that they aren't offered on the menu. The service is good most of the time unless poor decisions are made by the management. For example, one night they gave a new server most of the tables in the restaurant and she was overwhelmed. There were at least three other people standing around doing nothing that could have helped, but just stood around doing nothing. We were there for 15 minutes before we even got any water. This was frustrating because the manager was behind the bar with blinders on. My husband had to finally go to the bar and ask for our wine. We love to go for their half price bottles of wine, but very often they are out of J. Lohr, which is the mid price cabernet. This happens so often that it would seem whoever does their ordering would account for the volume that is sold and order accordingly. Their house wine is disgusting so the next choice is the Wendt which is $26 (half price) and they won't sell it by the glass. We just can't see the logic behind that. We are forced to buy a whole bottle to get a decent glass of wine. What is even more confusing is that you can buy J. Lohr for $12.99 at the store while Wendt $10.49. so for some reason they are inflating the price of Wendt when it is typically sold for less in retail stores. It was also disappointing when management decided that we couldn't split out toppings on our slice of pizza (which is actually 2 pieces of pizza) They have since changed the policy back so that you can customize your pizza, but we feel like they could change it back at any time. Basically, the food is delicious and most of the servers are great, but the policies enforced by management/owners is becoming so disappointing that we are eating their less and less these days. read more

When we aloes in we were greeted immediately and told we could sit at the bar area right in front or there was a tall table around the corner. We opted for the tall table. My husband ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich lunch special and I had the ham bam lunch special. The sandwiches usually come without fries but the lunch special comes with fries, a drink and any of their sandwich's for 9.99. Both sandwiches were very good. The fries a little cold but they were so edible. Service? You ask, don't. The server we had had shorts so short her butt hung out and there was no smile to be had. Was she having a bad day? I don't know. But a little smile and hello or something would have been nice. And I didn't ask but all the servers were wearing a T-shirt that said "free beer Monday's". I want to like this place. I really do. Local neighborhood pizza place. Good beer on tap. Nice atmosphere. But the food. The food is what's keeping me from liking it. Their toppings are pretty good on their pizzas. But their bread is the most strange and disgusting combination I've had. Am I some sort of pizza connoisseur ? Kinda. It's hard and very dense. Almost like a gluten free dough. Their rho rho rolls are made with the same bread concoction and it's just unpalatable. Their Italian food isn't anything to write hone about. Red sauce is chunky and bland. Where they lack in flavor they don't with huge pieces of cheese. Which no one would complain about. Cheese is delicious. But it's just, not very good. I want to like this place. I've been here 4 or 5 times thinking the next time will be better than the last and alas, it just hasn't. Now the service? Impeccable. Searching Yelp for pizza in my area and came across this place so the kids and I said why not. Called in a large pepperoni extra cheese with black olives for pickup. The young lady on the phone was very nice and said it would be 25 minutes. So we packed up and about 20 minutes later ended up at the location at Grant and Louetta. Very clean and nice establishment. Staff is very friendly. We didn't stay long just to get the pizza and go. One large pizza with extra cheese and black olives. $25. It was good but not anywhere near $25 good. My kids said the same. My oldest was like you could get five pizzas from P.#:* Hut or D.mino's for $25. I might go back and try something else maybe depending on price but until then I'll stick to Tony's for sure. read more

Here is proof that you can't choose a place based on the overall amount of stars. You have to read every review. I grew up on NY pizza and come to not expect the same type of pizza outside of NY. In Houston on short trip so decided to get some pizza on friends request. Yelped this place as it was close and got good ranking. (4 stars) Ordered the MarghaTelli 13 " and overall it was horrible. The crust was hard over done and tasted like cardboards. The tomato sauce was dry and the overall taste and quality was horrible. It should of never left the kitchen. Btw- I did have a greek salad and this was very good and had fresh ingredients. I must say service was very good. When I expressed my displeasure to our waitress she notified the manager. Dealing well and smartly with the current health issues, they have expanded their outdoor area. Personally (and this is only because I'm a New Yorker) I would like a crust just a little thinner and maybe a higher oven temperature to get that perfect texture. Their slices are BIG, so maybe order one less than you would elsewhere, and enjoy one of the good selection of beers they have. Still hungry? We have lived in the area for many years and have had Locatelli's in our pizza rotation during those years. Tonight as I thought about where to order pizza from, I thought oh we haven't had Locatelli's in a long while! I ordered a cheese pizza, a carnivore pizza and rho rho rolls. I remembered why we haven't ordered from them in a while. The crust is terrible. I realize it's thin crust but there is no taste or crackle to it. The toppings could not save it. The rolls seem to have the same dough and they were just dry. I don't remember the crust being like this just a couple years ago. I don't know if they have changed ingredients or how they make the crust OR if my family's tastes have changed but it's just not the same. I am not saying goodbye to this locally owned restaurant but my family may stick to the sandwiches and pasta dishes. read more
