Joe from Lock Key Charms saved the day with his patience and persistence when I accidentally locked myself out while doing laundry in the building. The lock was installed upside down (part of the Chicago landlord special I guess ‍) and was extra tricky. Joe stayed with it and never once showed frustration or gave any indication that he couldn't finish the job. I unhelpfully could not remember which way I turned the key to unlock the upside down lock. Despite the inconvenience of an upside down lock and a scatter brained customer, Joe cheerfully - he even cracked jokes and listened to the other woes of my evening - diligently and skillfully kept at it till the lock opened the door. Quick response. But $159 to unlock my car! (Keys locked inside.) Pretty steep price for three minutes of work! And the guy on the phone wouldn't give me a price over the phone, before the technician came out. He said the tech. would give me a price before doing any work...that they needed to know the make and model of the car. (He then asked me for this information, but still didn't give me the price after I provided it. A bogus claim, then.) But the charge on my cell phone was almost out. So I was stuck--had to pay the price because I didn't have enough battery power to search for and call another service. read more
