What's the deal guys???? It's a bar, an OK center city bar. It doesn't try to be anything more or less than that. A great place to come to after work and slam some drinks back. I liked the "Vous." I was headed there for a late happy hour with some friends and we were pleased to find out that they had feature drinks of the week. The week we were there is was $2 Lionshead bottles and $2 Shots of three olives grape. We decided to indulge in both and the waitress was even nice enough to bring over the caps for all the Lionshead's so we could solve the riddles. We decided to get crazy and try some food and we were all pleasantly surprised at the deliciousness of our order. The veggie grinder was very tasty as well as the grilled chicken breast. This is the kind of place that can either by depressing or awesome - I think it would mostly depend on your mood/state of mind. I found myself totally digging the chill, dark and bare-bones bar feel of it. The vous is almost everything I want in a session bar. It's clean, but not sterile. The staff are surly but not hostile. You'd be better off sticking with beer, but no one is going to kill you or make fun of you for ordering a girl drink. I was in this past Saturday for my birthday and was really impressed with the new (ish) manager that was on the floor and noticed a few subtle differences since I started going there years ago (I was one of the "industry" people mentioned in another review). First, I actually felt like the staff were happy to serve me for the first time ever, the manager and waitress were super friendly and the bathrooms were much cleaner than they used to be. Firstly, Mummers scare me. I hope I'm never at the Rendevous with a bunch of Mummers refilling their sprite containers. That said, the Rendevous is good for some things. A shoddy dive bar with cheap beer sold really cheaply, it's a place to go with a bunch of people when you're really low on cash. They do $2 pints of Lager, which normally is not my thing but sometimes...sometimes. The best thing about the Rendezvous and places like it is the cheap whiskey. Particularly when they do great whiskey/beer specials and I can just slide my beer over to someone else. read more

I was pleasantly surprised...this place was empty when we walked in and thought to myself..."uh oh". But the server was super nice and efficient and was busy making the place look sparkling clean. I ordered an omelet with sausage, tomatoes, onions, and American cheese. It was excellent, especially the sausage, and was perfectly cooked. The home fries were crispy and evenly cooked with lots of onions. The coffee was great and I had a spicy bloody Mary that was very good. I'm definitely coming back for brunch and will be recommending it to people for sure! read more

I really like this place though to me it seemed more like a sports bar than a dive bar. We needed a place for some late night tipsy food and found this place, and we were not let down. There are plenty of tvs for sports which was good because it was the NBA playoffs. I have the cheese fries and it was your typical good bar food. They have drink specials all day everyday it seems. I'm not complaining about Miller Lite bottles for $2.50, hard to beat that deal anywhere else in the city. My latest love affair. Cheap drinks, fair tap selection (they had Lagunitas IPA last time I was there) and a lovely dive bar atmosphere. I got to chat with Rick, the harmonica playing (literally at the bar, I mean) hair dresser who has cut Justin Timberlake and Ozzy Osbourne's hair. (So he says.) He was fun to talk to for 20 minutes until I realized that I could barely get a word in edge-wise. "The Vous" -- as it is commonly called -- is one of the best and under-rated bars in all of Philadelphia. The location could not be any better -- right smack-dab in the middle of Center City. And the prices are phenomenal. (As I have heard many a patron say -- "I cannot afford not to drink here!"). The atmosphere is cool and relaxed and really represents the epitome of the cross-representation of Philadelphia. Young, old, men, women, rich, working class -- the Rendezvous is kind of a "melting pot" for the city. Their secret? There is no pretentious atmosphere that plagues so many other Center City bars. This is a great place to go with a few friends for some drinks and good food. They always have great drink specials. Their grilled buffalo chicken tenders are so good, and their Spanish fries are terrific. I went here once tor quizzo too ( I think Wednesday nights?) if that strikes your fancy. Visiting from out of town and checked on yelp to confirm hours. Website said they were open u til 2:00am. Walked in at 12:35am and was told their grill was just cleaned and only serving fried appetizers. If that's the case owner need to state only serving food until 12:30am. Terrible! read more

The Rendezvous was our third stop looking for a place that we could could get a table and watch the Eagles game at. First clue this place may have issues is that they had tables available when the other two places were standing room only. The service wasn't terrible it was non- existent. The bartender was also the only waitress in the entire place. Apparently this is a common occurrence, a man sitting at the bar came to our table and told us the bartender asked him to take our drink orders. We eventually were able to get some food and it was ok. The prices are so reasonable that I will probably go back to give them another try. Who knows maybe they'll hire a waitress by then. read more

Their corned beef was so juicy and tender and their mustard just made everything taste better. My friend and I went for lunch and drinks and we weren't disappointed with anything. The bar wasn't packed but there were a few groups and the service was still excellent. The drinks came quickly and we were introduced to a nice new whiskey--Tullamore Dew Irish Whiskey. They also let you taste test the beers on tap, which is always good. A place with $2 and $3 drink specials all day is the prefect place for alcohol lovers. read more
