I went to Lodi Beer twice in less than two weeks; it is an ideal place to come after spending time photographing Sandhill Cranes and other migratory birds in the nearby fields. The interior of the building has a lot of charm. I asked the server what was there before the restaurant opened; she thought maybe it was a nail salon. The room is much too large for that type of business. I think it might have been a mercantile business of some sort. Whatever it was before, it now has a lot of charm, both nights were very busy. I loved my poke appetizer and ordered it for my main course each time we came here. It arrived at the table beautifully plated. A mound of avocado, layered with ahi tuna, topped with wonton strips, microgreens with a sesame dressing. This was circled by house-made pickles. This appetizer was fabulous I finished all of it both times I was here and I seldom finish my meals. I enjoyed one of their specialty cocktails the first time, and a Manhattan the second time. My friend K had a Cajun burger the first time and fish and chips the 2nd time he was not that impressed with the food and did not think their beer menu offered many choices. Nobody working in the restaurant, and none of the customers wore a mask. As much as I enjoyed my meal I would be hesitant to go back. read more

I had a Passionfruit lemon drop 10/10!! We also had the deep fried Mac & cheese! 10/10 zesty jalapeño 10 and cheddar Mac & cheese probably a 9. Both a must but def prefer the zesty jalapeño as I'm not too big on cheese. We also had a cheese loaf 7/10 it was soaked in balsamic vinegar and it's what probably gave it the 7 for us. It's big so I'd skip next time for a party of 2. For sure would try again with bigger group and ask to go light on the vinegar. Then I got the poke bowl. I love me some poke! However I was very disappointed in it. I prefer my poke bowls cold and the hot rice just threw the whole dish off for me and wasn't able to enjoy. I ended up just picking at it to not leave it. Food Poisoning eating the Chicken Marsala. I left a voicemail for the Manager to call me back and its been 3 days. Pretty dissapointed to leave a message stating 1 member in our party got food poisoning and no one has bothered to return my phone message!!! On top of that 18% gratuity was added onto our large party and the service was severely lacking. We had to get up to go ask for refills, she only addressed 1 half of our large table. When she did come around and ask if anyone wanted refills she did so from one end of the table and I had to raise my hand to let her know I wanted one. She could of come over and asked instead of raising her voice to try to cover the whole table. I really believe since she knew she was getting a large tip she just didn't care in the service provided. If I was a manager and someone called stating they got food poisoning there is no way I would not return their call promptly and that just goes to show they didn't care. The rest of us who had never been there before was planning on coming back because our food was pretty good but because of the no call from the Manager we definitely will not be returning as it shows they do not care about their customers. read more

Came here with the family on a Monday night as it was one of the few beer spots open on a Monday. Nice and large restaurant that is bigger than it looks from the outside. Staff were nice, however were rather slow and took a while to take orders and get drinks. I had the Cubano sandwich which was pretty good with the only flaw being the burned bun it was on. The roast beef dip was pretty good and had a very nice dipping aus ju. The hamburger was just blah and not worth ordering. Fries were really good and came hot and crispy. Be sure to ask for any condiments when they bring your food otherwise you may be done by the time they come back. Beer selection is pretty good with about 10 to choose from including a cider and guest tap. Overall it was good but have other spots on the downtown strip that I prefer. read more

Stumbled in here when the restaurant we were going to was closed. Wow! First off the brewery scenery making it rustic is so nice. We sat near the bar area and were very well taken care of by our waitress. We got deep fried macaroni for appetizers and I'll go back for those alone! We had the pleasure of stopping by this brewery after a fun weekend at Jellystone. We weren't that hungry but wanted to sample some beers and that much talked about house made root beer. We had a steak salad and the bruschetta, let me just say order that bruschetta. It was absolutely fresh and tasty, perfect with some cold beer! The garlicky goodness and the ripe fresh tomatoes with that balsamic, everything was balanced. The steak salad was perfect to share for a nice little snack. The raspberry wheat beer had a slight hint of fruit, not overwhelming but just right with a touch of sweetness. The pilsner was refreshing, light and crisp, no after taste just quenches your thirst type of beer. The homemade root beer was a real treat, the flavor was on point not too sugary but had all those spices you want from a root beer. I recently revisited Lodi Beer Co with my grandma while home visiting; it had been years since I'd eaten here. We decided to dine outside on their sidewalk patio. Both opting for healthier choices, we copied each other and ordered two salmon spinach salads. I loved it! They offer both a lemon and orange vinaigrette to drizzle over a generous portion of grilled salmon, spinach, zucchini, mandarin oranges and onions. The portion size was generous, and we both ended up leaving with leftovers. Lodi Beer doesn't offer bread up front as an appetizer, but we ordered several side slices of garlic bread to go with our salads and it was just right. I've had many other items from their menu before, including the Reuben sandwich, fish tacos, etc, and honestly cannot remember having anything that WASN'T good. I'm a beer kinda gal, so next time I visit I'll be ordering one of theirs on-tap or grabbing a growler to-go so I can rep their sweet logo and *ahem* refresh my memory. read more

The food was great. We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon for lunch and it actually wasn't too busy for the time. I enjoyed the blue burger as well as the cajun burger as i split the entree in half with my guest! Our server Sirauh was really great on recommending a beer that paired well with the meal and even brought out a sample flight for us to be really sure of our choice. She was also extra patient with the kids as i feel it's usually hard to deal with kids in restaurants!! Overall it was a great experience and i would recommend going back. This is a good brewpub in downtown Lodi. We've been stopping here when driving through town for years so I'm surprised I hadn't review it yet. The place is good but bot outstanding, it is somewhat uneven, and our last experience was not bad but unimpressive. Food overall is good, but not great. It can be quite enoyable but is a little blunt and sometimes seems to suffer from inconsistent execution. The buffalo chicken sandwich and cubano can both be very good - usually 4 to 4.5 stars - with a nice balance of elements. They are two of the best things there I think. Burgers are generally good, usually about 4 stars but the last time I was there it was underwhelming. 3 stars. Steak sandwich is good but not great. About 3.5. Bread pudding is reasonably good but somewhat sweet and one dimensional. 3.5. Their beer is generally good and enjoyable but not outstanding, either. I've always like the Plowshare Porter - nicely balanced with good roasty-and-deep fruit porter character. 4 stars. The doppelbock has been good also. The oktoberfest is ok but one dimensional and has an inappropriate yeast character for the style - elements of bubblegum and banana appropriate to different beer styles and which just is not right in an oktoberfest. 2.5 stars. I had another of their beers ealrier which I remember was one dimensional but I can't remember what it was and can't find notes on it. The place has some nice old-fashioned decor elements appropriate for the space in the old building it occupies. Service is usually pretty good but can be a bit indifferent. In summary, this is a good place but not outstanding and can be somewhat inconsistent. I would put it at about 3.5 stars now, so I'm rounding up to 4 stars because 3 seems a bit too low. read more

I celebrated my husband's retirement party in their beautiful banguet room. Everyone loved the atmosphere, couldn't stop raving about the delicious food, and the service was exceptional. It was always so easy to be in contact with the restaurant event coordinator whenever I had questions. Response time was quick. The banguet side door to the street was a plus to use for bringing in and setting up your decor, adequate time to decorate, loved the big screen TV I used for a PowerPoint presentation, the buffet table was beautifully setup in black linen, and I really liked the online guest portal they have setup for you to use when you contract an event with them. So organized. I also felt the price for using their banguet room was totally worth it. I know I picked the best placey. Thank you so much to all the amazing crew who helped make this day exordinary and unforgettable for my husband. He cant stop raving about the day. You guys are truly amazing!! read more
