Just what you want from a diner. Great variety of food, done quick and at good prices. Solid cup of coffee. Nicely lit throwback feel, and the staff has a weary familial air that comes from protracted success and sore feet. Good counter banter between regulars, staff and passers-through. I keep ordering the Southern Benedict, for a few reasons. One: properly poached eggs are hard to come by and you get three perfect ones. Gravy over hollandaise, any time, any where. The tomato slices perfectly complement the patties of spicy sausage. Altogether a knockout of a Benedict. This is 5-10 minutes from The Rivers casino. I hit a six-number Fire bet in craps one morning when I decided to eat at Lola's, first. At 1000-1, that breakfast was one of the best decisions I ever made! read more

First time here had the nest breakfast with sausage and bacon,also pancakes. Wow first it was alot of food. I think someobe else recommended enough for 2,they were right. Next it was a really good breakfast. I guess no lunch today only light snack,soooo fulll. Service was good and quick. Prices very reasonable. I do recommend thiS place for breakfast. We use to come here often. Today, we will never come back. I ordered a gyro platter. I get it and it's just a plate full of lettuce and maybe 5 tiny pieces of the meat. The waitress apologizes and brings me what appeared to be scraps that weren't cooked. She apologized again and said that it looked awful. The lady at the front came and apologized and told me to order something else. The waitress comes back, hands us the check, and states "I'm so sorry, but the guy in the back refuses to offer you any service. Again, I'm sorry." The lady at the front apologized and stated she just works there and she is so very sorry because it wasn't right how they treated us. We walked out and will never return again. read more

We recently discovered Lola's and super happy we did! Great value (breakfast for 2 adults, 2 kids - $30 with tip) and straight up good food. I love the cinnamon raisin French toast. Have only tried breakfast, but would certainly like to give lunch or dinner a try. Service is decent, fast and efficient. It's a family owned restaurant, which I think is nice. Traditional diner food. Crazy, low prices. Decent coffee in a comfortable mug. Clean and bright inside, although I think they try a little too much with the kitschy decor. Some would find it charming. Fast,attentive and friendly service. HOT food, gotta love that. Nice, fluffy, light, tasty pancakes. Skillet made with real potatoes. The veggie stuffed swedish pancakes were odd. Veggies were plain, yet the pancake was very good after I unwrapped it and ate it with syrup. Just a weird combo. Easy parking. Eat here. My go to breakfast place. Excellent skillets and omelettes. They come with 2 good size pancakes not the tiny ones at most places. It's very affordable as well. Also love the 50's decor; chrome trimmed formica topped tables and the coolest vinyl chairs in '57 Chevy baby blue and white. read more

This place is a golden gem. We had been searching for a great breakfast place in the area that wasn't a chain. Their food is fresh, the service is polite, and I've never had a bad meal there. The soup is the best I've had. I also like the "regular" feel I get when we walk in and they let us seat ourselves. Overall, I would highly recommend this place over other places in the area. From reading reviews, I guess I expected more. I was part of a woman's group that met there for breakfast - a total of 12 of us. They were prompt with the coffee, took our orders quickly and in order of how we were sitting, but then the stuff came out in weird spurts. The waitress was shouting things like "ok, who had the American omelet / who had the whole wheat toast?". The lady next to me, and myself each ordered Lola's swedish pancakes, she asked for hers to have strawberries only, instead of the wildberries advertised. When she shouted "who had the Lola's ?", we both said we did. The plates were completely different. After much confusion, and a good 10 minute wait, I think I actually had Lola's crepes and the other woman got the plain swedish pancakes w/lingonberries. We finally just gave up and ate them since the waitress was confused, and since it was our first visit, so were we. Others at the table seemed to like their breakfast, although only a few took leftovers, the rest just gave their half-filled dishes back to the waitress. I'd probably give it another try, this time with only one or two people with me. Maybe they can't handle larger groups like that. Decor was cute, the place looked clean and bright. read more

We frequent Sunday late morning breakfasts and really enjoy their delicious food. I'm a fan of their great fresh oatmeal complete with bananas and berries. Their veggie omelets with fruit and pancakes are another fine choice. The pancakes are big and fluffy. Their coffee is particularly good and our cups always remain filled. Sunday mornings can get quite busy so we don't show up too early. Prices are fair and the friendly servers and staff cannot be topped. I'm sure you won't be disappointed. read more

Stopped in at Lola's for dinner. The place only had two other customers so my sister and I were not sure what to expect. When this place was called Chickies the food was just so so. I ordered the tilapia florentine and was surprised when the waitress offered me a choice of broccoli, cauliflower or asparagus. There was also a choice of potato or rice and soup or salad. I ordered the loaded potato soup which I intended to ony eat a few spoonfuls of. I finished the bowl. My sister had the chicken dumpling soup which she said was good not great. She ordered the fried shrimp and fries. We both felt that the food was very good, but what impressed me even more was the presentation. My fresh asparagus spears was wrapped in a thin band of carrot. It almost looked like ribbon and my sisters shrimp actually was placed along the edge of the plate in two layers making room for the large serving of fries. Service was excellent during our visit. Drink refills were offered before we had to ask. Prices were reasonable for what we had. Will definately be going back. read more
