I don't usually make reviews but I was so disappointed the with the drinks and especially with the customer service. I was a customer for many years that came in often but unfortunately ever since the new owners came in it has just gone down hill in my opinion. the drink is not consistent and sometimes tastes just wrong like something was missing or that it's just ice. I also believe in customer service: always try to make the customer happy... a little girl dropped a cup of bolba and did not even get a sip in yet to realizing half of the drink is gone and on the floor, she was embarrassed and super sad and started to cry.. we ask if they could kindly make another one and the manager stated No, you have to Pay. Hummmmm wooow! ok if your prices are not so much I would say, What ever ok but you're not cheap. I really don't think you will suffer with making a new drink. There is kore I can say about my experience but I'm over it... sad to say I will be looking for a new place for my family to go to. It's just not a place I would like to go to any more. read more

This is my hometown boba spot and I've been frequenting this place since high school! The staff here is always really nice and they have a pool table and a TV here! It's a great place to hang out I just wish there were more tables. The boba here is soft and tasty I just wish they had more options for toppings! They do have a variety of jellies but I always stick with boba. Two of my favorites are the oreo slush and the thai tea! My go tos and they never fail me! It was my first time going to Lollicup, and my expectations were high. After me and my family ordered and got our beverages, we went home. For me, my drink was fine, but for my family, not so much. I'm more of a Tapioca person but since its located right in front of my school I gave it a try. First thing I noticed was their unique interior design. Had a pool table right in the middle of the store haha interesting. The owner? (nice older gentleman) was SUUUPPPER friendly and nice. He was pretty excited to talk about his doggies :) I think he made our drinks also and they tasted good, mine was a bit too sweet though. This is the only place that I know of that has a large selection of boba...at least, in Chula Vista! Unfortunately, beggers can't be choosers. Since I feen for the occassional boba, I go to Lollicup TeaZone. And, with gas prices rising, driving up to Kearny Mesa is NOT an option! The store sits inconspicously in a tiny shopping area, largely ignored, with only a Taco Bell and a Hollywood Video (does anyone ever rent videos anymore?) to lure in customers. I found this place, quite by accident, making a run for the Border. Don't judge me - I WAS HUNGRY!! Anywho, decided to walk in and check it out. We're not talking spectacular choices. But, they got choices. The place has a hodge podge of furniture, including a pool table. This is probably meant to lure in teenagers (hrmph!) and college kids to hang out, as it sits across the street from both Southwestern College and Bonita High School. Until Chula Vista gets a better boba store, Lollicup will be my go-to place for the boba craving. read more

Since I love boba so much and I live in the South Bay, I'll put up with Lollicup. Their boba and drinks have always been too sweet for me and that's what bugs me. Still, I somehow go here at least once a month. I try my best not to order such a sweet drink. I prefer honeydew banana over regular honeydew. I prefer the mango shake over mango slush. I was really hoping the boba shop closest to my house would be really good.... The atmosphere inside is quite nice, but the boba leaves much to be desired. We ordered 2 different boba drinks and only one was really good. The honeydew slush sort of tasted like honeydew but it had a fake taste to it. Maybe it was the after taste, but it just didn't taste like others I've had. The thai tea slush was good, but this was probably the easiest to make. Now the reason why this place only received two stars is because of the boba. It was like the boba wasn't boiled long enough. It was tough and very hard to chew. Add boba to a slush drink and it makes the boba even harder. We'll probably give this place another shot since it's so close to home but for now, we'll travel the extra 5 miles to TapX. read more

I've been a Lollicup vip member for over a year now, and it wasn't until a few weeks ago that I came in and found out they aren't one of the participating stores that give the vip discount. But anyway, that's not the reason why I'm giving them two stars. First of all, their prices are higher than the ones in National City. Second of all, I asked for a jasmine green milk tea and requested it blended - but the old man behind the counter said "No, it won't taste like anything. It'll be very bad." Ok, seriously? I've asked the Lollicup in National City, and the Lollicup in Riverside to make every and any milk tea I've ordered to be blended and they've never given me ANY difficulty. Not being a permanent resident of Chula Vista, I decided to see how lollicup would suffice my craving for boba. As you first walk in, the place really isn't like your typical boba place. It reminds me of an old school candy store for little kids. I didn't like their drinks that much as it had too much of a sweet taste to it. Their food menu is lacking alot too. Hot Dogs and nachos served at a boba place? Where's the Asian food?! Not to mention that I didn't like the atmosphere at all. It was pretty much dead inside, and I could imagine it being worse with a bunch of high school kids from across the street being crammed in there. One of the BEST places to go for Boba! I typically get Almond Slush with Boba & 1 scoop of Ice Cream. They are very fast, have consistently good drinks & very friendly service. They also have a TV & a pool table for those that want to hang out there for a little bit. There are several schools surrounding this Lollicup so it's mostly the students hanging out in here after school. Best time to come is probably anytime before 2PM or you'll just have a to wait a few more minutes than usual. read more

I used to come here a lot when I was still going to SWC across the street. The drinks are really sweet, I can taste the honeydew in my boba unlike other places, but the tapioca gets hard quick. I've never had this problem with the Lollicup in National City, or anywhere else as a matter of fact. I'm not sure if the set up is still the same but I remember I liked it back then. You get a cozy coffehouse type of feel. I like. What I DON'T like, is the price variance between this location and the one in National City. I don't care if it is a franchise.. you're both under the Lollicup name and, therefore, should have the same prices. p.s. National City is cheaper :) read more

Boba again?? I don't get boba much in Vegas, even though there's a huge selection out there. But when I'm in San Diego, I'm in the mood for boba. Go figure. Had boba yesterday and was craving it again today. My nephew suggested Lollicup Tea Zone because he likes their Cantaloupe Slush w/boba. I wanted Tapex but he may know better, so naturally I took an 11 year old's advice. Located across from Bonita Vista High School, SWC, and Ralph's. It's also in the same center as Halphen Red, which is also a favorite of mine. The first thing I noticed was a pool table placed exactly the middle of this joint. Sort of strange to see a pool table in a boba/tea room, but at the same time was thinking "where was this when I was in high school?" I tell you, kids have it good now a days. The second thing I noticed is the huge menu on the wall. Like all other boba places, there's a wide selection. I chose the Coffee Milk Tea w/boba. My nephew had his favorite. I didn't try his drink, but mine was delicious. Nothing really special about my drink. It is basically coffee, milk, and boba. I actually think the drink itself was better than Tapex. The boba here is smaller and I prefer that larger boba. Overall, the establishment was clean, staff was efficient, and my drink was prepared well. There aren't a lot of boba places in Chula Vista so I frequent this location because it's on the way to the freeway from my house, parking is abundant, and I don't want to drive all the way to Convoy St. for my milk tea or thai tea. If you have a hankering for a drink that is sweet, delicious and contains balls, Lollicup is the place. I personally like this location compared to the Plaza Blvd branch due to the accessibility and credit card convenience. The employees are also a lot nicer too. Although Clairemont Mesa may have a lot of Oriental food/shops and a majority of the Boba shops in San Diego, having Lollicup south of the I-8 is convenient for the people that live down South. The drink menu is ridiculously huge. A first timer here would probably take a good 10 minutes to find what they want to order. My recommendation is the Oreo Slush. I have tried the Thai Tea which was also good. You can't really go wrong with any drink you order here. You can also order food, usually fried stuff, and there is a questionable candy display next to the cash register. To be honest, I wouldn't touch any of those candies with a ten foot pole, but that's beside the point. The point is - you come here for a good boba drink, and that's what they do. read more
