The owner charges the same for a regular cut and active duty. First off, not sure if he's making a statement, but it's fine to just say we don't do military discounts. Second I asked for a fade and they ruined my hair. I asked to take off the top and the guy forgot. And they still want 21 dollars and expect a tip. Guy stood there and expected a tip. Went back about six weeks later for another when they were back inside. Had a guy this time and he did a decent job too. I've been getting my hair cut there since 1987. Teresa and Lisa are my favorites, as they always give me an awesome haircut but everyone does a great job. Same everytime. Friendly, personable and quick. Sometimes a 10 to 15 minute wait but many times I walk in and get seated immediately. Fair price for a great haircut so I leave a nice tip everytime. read more

This is a no-frills traditional barber shop with great service. Why pay over $20 for a cut elsewhere when you can get one here for $9? They have a very diverse customer base-everyone from military, business types, seniors, & hipsters who appreciate the good value here. The barbers are all friendly and fast. I've been going to Teresa for years. She's a real sweetheart. But, I don't think you can go too wrong with any of the barbers here. The shop can be a bit hard to find the first time. Friendly, decent staff. Some may not speak English well but they can communicate with you. Evenly mixed: about 2-3 females to 2-3 men cutting hair. Never had an extremely long wait here - waits are non existent during the week and quick on Sundays. During peak periods (Saturdays and Sundays) you walk in and take a number and are called by the next available barber. Weekdays you can just walk in and a barber will be waiting. I've had several decent high and tights here but I still prefer the Esquire Barber Shop in Oceanside. That barber takes his time and uses a blade to shave your neck. Not a bad barber shop. Parking can be tight and access to the mall off Midway Drive can be challenging at times as that part of Rosecrans is severely overloaded with traffic. I paid about $8 before tip. Please, people, ALWAYS TIP YOUR BARBERS! Oh yeah, and CASH ONLY! M-Th they are open 9-6, Saturdays 9-5 and Sundays 9-3. They are located in the shopping center with a Circuit City. read more

I started going to Loma Square Barber shop for a few months now. I use to go to the pricey hair salons and paying up to $40 for just a simple cut. I then decided to try a BARBER SHOP out so I stopped in at this Barber shop and Lisa cut my hair. I've been getting my haircut here for the last 20 years and there hasn't been a time that I've been dissatisfied. Some of the barber/stylist have come and gone but a few remain reminding me of the good old days. The shop itself hasn't changed which means everything is clean organized there are TVs to watch benches to sit on and a really nice atmosphere for families. I am truly surprised that they have kept the prices down as low as they are but that just means more tip money to my barber. If you haven't done so already and you're looking to come out of your comfort zone stop by give them a chance and see how you like the place. I have been using Teresa for years. I have on ocassion (out of necessity) used other barbers and they always manage to screw up a simple clipper cut. You can pay $20 or more elsewhere for designer cut or $8 here for a good old fashion haircut. When you go, ask for Teresa - she listens. This is a cash only barber shop tucked away in Loma Square just behind The Gourmet Bagger. My husband and kids love going here! They do an excellent job and have lollipops for the kiddos! They are fast, and always make the kids feel at ease. They cleaned up a butchered haircut from Pigtails and Crewcuts on my son, thankfully. We are regulars!
