This was our first and last time here. Drinks were good. Food was terrible for having such good reviews and ratings. We will never come back here. Ordered the baked oysters and they were the worst. So small and barely any oyster even in there, just burnt breadcrumbs. Waste of $20. Then we ordered salads and oh god we could've made something 10x better. Mixed spring salad from shop rite with huge chunks of tomato, unpeeled cucumber and some crappy dressing just oil with some bland seasonings. For entree I got the stuffed soil filet and my husband got the sea bass. All Lombardi's restaurants is known throughout my family as a go-to. You always know you're going to have good food, and a good time. We haven't been here in YEARS, but decided to come by for my grandmother and dads birthday! And we were so glad we did! We had a beautiful table outside, it was really hot Luis but nice and cool at the patio. At first, we were a little taken back by the prices. Once we received the food and saw the portions it all made sense - they were HUGE. Everything we ordered came with a started house salad, which we all enjoyed. Once we received our entrees no one spoke because they were too busy eating the delicious food! Next time I go, I think I will do it family style though considering the large plates and my love for sharing. Sarah our waitress was awesome, she was so sweet and helpful! Once you pull up, you can tell it's a beautiful place. When you walk into the main dining room area, you see a huge bar and tables placed around it. The huge windows that wrap around the room looks out onto the bay. Such incredible views on a beautiful day. There is a outside patio where you can sit during the warmer weather that offers more amazing views and a different atmosphere. We sat at the bar and we were greeted by the manager Karim. He was very welcoming and made sure everything we needed was to perfection. Dj and Matt were the bartenders , they were on point and super nice as well. There was four of us and we ordered a variety of food. The oysters were fresh and perfectly prepared. We got the clams that were full of flavor and were a great size. The steak was excellent and cooked exactly how I asked. The chicken was very tender and juicy with an amazing sauce. For dessert (forgot to take pictures) we got cannoli. These were no joke and I definitely recommend them. I would encourage anyone to come in, either just for a drink to enjoy the view or for a full meal. 11 of us went here for dinner on Friday night. Mia and the staff did a great job. Drinks right away. Good pours from the bar. Swapped out a cosmo for an espresso martini when my niece didn't like it. No questions asked and swapped promptly. Apps were timely and hot. Tender octopus, crab cake where the crab was the star, not filler. Rich, crisp caesar to name just a few apps. Mains were also well paced and temp hot, not easy for an 11 top outside in the breeze. Sea bass cooked perfectly, son's boneless ribeye had a great crust and cooked perfect med-rare. Chicken francaise was just okay, but pasta underneath was al dente and appropriately sauced. Rigatoni with scallops was chock full of scallops. There were some specials too that everyone enjoyed. How about that cannoli! Chocolate cake was decadent. They don't make the desserts, but they were great. Hot coffees and cappuccinos to boot. I wish the outside tables were as nice as the inside, but I get the need for outdoor furniture. Thanks for a lovely and tasty dinner. We'll be back. read more

We went here for Thanksgiving, the Holiday decorations were really something special, we were seated in there second bar room which has all outdoor enclosure windows it was very cold to the point I had to get up to get my coat out from the coat check girl. It seemed as though the staff gathers or hangs out by this back bar area causing a lot of noise and distractions to our dining. The food was fair to good the portions were very small for $50 per person, the mashed potatoes were 3-4 teaspoon sized and the sweet potatoes as well. The serving is what you'd put on a child's plate 8 and under or a toddlers dish. We did not stay for dessert it was just too cold and distracting to enjoy any more food or coffee. I went home hungry on Thanksgiving the first time ever, our daughters $30 Rigatoni' and shrimp dish was full of huge crushed Tomatoes and she left 1/2 of plate of sauce and tomatoes on her dish it was gross to even look at. So a 2.5-3 star rating is more for the friendly staff, there were many many open tables as we were the last seating for dinner. It would have been a much better experience to have sat in a proper room that was warm. read more

I had a baby shower here. Food was good but served meal at 300 pm which left us 1 hour to open 50 gifts they need to extend party hours to 4 hours. Room was a little tight for 50 women. Valet person was rude as 80 year old was leaving to get in her car He was yelling to hurry up. read more

I had my Baby Shower at Lombardis On the Bay a little over 5 months ago and it was absolutely HORRIBLE. So let me start off by saying the restaurant is good but booking this place for an event was a nightmare. DO NOT DO IT, but to the stunning views and spacious rooms at Lombardis On the Bay won me over and I so gullible booked with them. I started talking about my event to a male manager who was extremely rude / dismissive on top of it all he gave me completely inaccurate and non transparent information / prices when I initially inquired about the venue. I'm not sure what he thought. Then when he finally saw I was serious about booking I had to speak to a second person which was the GM Jennifer, anyone would truly expect exceptional service from a GM but I can't even begin to tell you how many times I had to repeat the color linens / the cake filling / the occasion / the date !! etc either because she kept "misplacing it" or she truly just didn't care. Oh she also cancelled on me last min. that she wasn't going to be there when she initially said she would and I was stuck with the rude manager. I also emailed her with how unhappy I was and not a single email back!!! The day of the event, i can not begin to tell you how HORRIBLE the food was. The starter salads were maybe 3 pieces of lettuce on a plate with 2 croutons. The chicken parm was swimming in a pool of watered down marinera and unmelted mozz ontop. I was so EMBARRASSED that my guests were being served this. My only compliment of the day is the floor staff, they were Ángels at accommodating my pregnant self and extra chairs / high chairs we needed. THEY should be the managers and gms not those people. Anyhow for almost 6k I only paid for the view and space the rest of it was absolute garbage. read more

The food was also good but the drinks were unfortunately watered down and much overly priced. The service was mediocre due to a competing wedding reception. The food was ok. i ordered as an appetizer baked clams and had salmon as my entree. the salmon was listed with either salad or pasta, i was not asked which i wanted and it came out with pasta. should of sent it back but didn't want to wait another 20 minutes. pasta was awful. The main point is the service. perhaps the worst. we sat at the bar and when we arrived it was we two and maybe 2-3 others. bartender seemed overwhelmed, because he was tending for both bar and restaurant. not the fastest bartender i have seen by a long shot. it was getting cool as the Sun was setting so they brought another bartender from the outside bar. she was very slow and almost immediately got on her phone and started texting. i had to ask both bartenders twice for either water or ice. bottom line i think a major issue is management. they did not seem to have proper direction. at the peak of our stay i would estimate the bar at about 1/3 full I cannot imagine what it would of been like had there been a full bar. the one redeeming factor is the view of the Great South Bay and Fire Island beyond. if you are satisfied with the view, average and expensive food than by all means go. but if good service means something to you, run run away fast. read more

Had a gift card and hadn't been to this location since their opening. The view is stunning...but that's about it. Our server rushed taking our orders but never came back to check on us once we received our food. Bread basket was room temperature Italian bread, nothing special. I got the pasta with crab and sundried tomato, my husband got a pasta dish with scallops and shrimp. Portions were a nice size but both dishes lacked any flavor. The "pink" sauce was runny and my Maryland crab may as well have been shredded boiled chicken. Our daughter was thrilled with her buttered noodles, which was the only children's option aside from chicken fingers and fries. A side of meatballs wasn't even available. Overall, this is a nice place for a drink and an appetizer to enjoy the view, but any more than that is a waste of time and money. read more

Went here last night for Restaurant week. My opinion is, they should NOT participate in Restaurant Week! First of all, for $44/pp, I really believe they can afford to give you pasta with your veal parm entree. Pasta is cheap, every Italian restaurant gives you pasta with an Italian entree. For $44/pp Lonbardis on the Bay could not add pasta, ridiculous! Pasta is a staple, you only get pasta with your veal or chicken parm if you order from their regular menu. Plus, for restaurant week they offer 2 desserts- a cannoli OR coffee or tea. I don't consider coffee or tea a dessert? Who would? What a cheap thing to do, they cannot give you coffee with your cannoli? There was no choice. Don't participate in Restaurant week if you can't do it right, you want to draw customers in during Restaurant week, food was good, but I will not be back. And please don't add coffee or tea as a dessert, it's not. Provide more of a selection and include the coffee or tea. And, give a side of pasta with the entree - pasta is cheap, I think you can afford to do that especially at $44/pp. For $44/pp throw in the pasta as a side and give coffee/tea with the one dessert you offer. Your restaurant week deal failed in my book. read more

I am a half glass full kind of person so, I would like to think that perhaps they were having an "off" night last night. We didn't have reservations but we were promptly lead to the bar which has an outstanding view on the water. I suppose the fact that it was outside would be the logistic for serving drinks in cheap plastic cups. When I say cheap, I'm talking throwaway Dixie cups. In light of the fact that the drinks were not inexpensive and my Margarita was very mediocre, had it not been for the view and the fact that the bartender was very pleasant, I might have not have stayed for dinner. Besides, I was really hungry and we figured the food would be amazing. We had been there years ago and always remember it fondly. Our server Elena, was very sweet and as attentive as she could have been given the fact that she was inundated. I saw plenty of bus help however, not any other servers in the room. We started off with grilled octopus which was good however, was barely tepid. It was followed by a house salad which was very ordinary. My husband ordered the Chilean sea bass and I ordered a grilled mahi-mahi to be served over escarole. I specifically requested that the fish be on the moist side, as I am not fond of overly cooked, dried fish. After an extremely long wait for our main course to come out and several apologies from our server (not her fault), our food arrived. My meal was the antithesis of the way I had requested it. The fish was dry and chewy and just completely ruined it for me. My husband's Chilean sea bass was nicely cooked , but the seasoning was not very flavorful . A gentlemen, either a manager, or Maitre D came over to our table after I returned my entrée. He was very kind about it and asked if I would prefer something else or if he could buy me a drink. Honestly, after waiting so long and having the food come out the way it did, my appetite was just gone. I thanked him and told him to please convey to Elena that she shouldn't feel that this was her fault whatsoever and would not reflect in her tip. By 8:35 I had to go to the bartender and find out what was happening. Waiter had disappeared and the food still had not arrived. She was kind enough to go in the kitchen and find out what was happening. Apparently, they forgot about us and they were going to start our food now! I asked for a manager. Our food gets to the table as the manager does. This man was so rude and unapologetic. He wouldn't even make eye contact with me. I was visiting from out of state and as a former Long Islander, wanted to take my mom here for her birthday in November. It is not as good as I remembered it being when they were newer. They started us off with a very cold bread basket. For entrees, I had the stuffed flounder and my mom had a salmon dish. We ordered a side of roasted potatoes, which were huge. We were asking our waiter for some insight on portion sizes so that we wouldn't too much food for just the two of us, but he was not well versed. The salmon was extremely underdone (raw.) We had to send it back and by the time we got her dish back, I had already given her half of mine because my dish was getting cold. The service all together was decent. There is an inconsistency in food and service quality. We have been here for brunches, dinners and weddings. The food is sometimes amazing and sometimes subpar. Same with service. Overall I recommend the place for their brunch and happy hour on Fridays! The place is on a higher price side but the portions are huge! I should have listened to the reviews. Overpriced and kind of average food. Some of it was very greasy. Basically paid 50 a person to sit in a bar. Kale Salad and Mac & Cheese were both really good. Everything else -- ehh. The steak for 2 (95$) was not up to par for the price. Wait staff and management were good. Also, be careful when reading the online menu. The prices are not the same. Patchogue has lots of good new restaurants, try one of those if you are in the area. We plan to do that next time. I was hoping for better. read more

We were a large party who came to this restaurant for their their Sunday brunch. For the price we paid ($45 pp), definitely not worth it and will not be returning. Main reasons: dirty silverware, dirty cups, inattentive staff (we had to ask them to clean plates, fill empty coffee and water cups, etc), food was under seasoned and blah. Selections were not abundant, especially for a Sunday brunch. The mimosas were just nasty (not sure if it was real OJ or the powered kind). Desserts were also tasteless.
