A great place to enjoy a good meal with family! I've been here several times and have never been disappointed. Since Lombardi's On the Bay is also a wedding venue/catering hall, their staff is experienced with handling large groups. This makes it a perfect spot to reserve a restaurant table for a special occasion. Ask for a table with a view of the water and you won't be disappointed, especially around sunset! I recently tried the strawberry-rose spritz from the summer cocktail menu-- it was sweeter than I expected but yummy and refreshing. It's a bummer that their stuffed mushrooms are only offered on special menus because they are so good! Not your traditional Italian stuffed mushroom, but really good with the crab meat and gorgonzola. Great calamari-- perfect fry and paired with a simply delicious marinara. The chicken francese wasn't the best I've had, but it is good and worth ordering if you're a fan. Others at my table had the chicken marsala, chicken parm, and rigatoni with mama's meatballs and all was delish! You'll definitely be going home with leftovers because the portions are huge. I was disappointed by the napoleon dessert as it is not a traditional napoleon and is little more than thin, crispy sheets of pastry crust with some whipped cream sandwiched between. The cannoli wasn't as heavy and creamy as you'd expect from an Italian bakery, but it was light, sweet and enjoyable with an espresso. read more

Food, Service, Ambiance and outstanding bay views were top shelf here today at the Celebration of Life for my husband. I hosted a family dinner for 16 at Lombardi's On The Bay 8 years ago and it was so amazing I had to come back to have my husband's Celebration of Life here this afternoon. Beautiful views and good service. Came out for lunch with a party of 11 people on a Friday. Called a head to make a reservation and was sat right away. Server was very polite and attentive. Lots of lunch menu choices seafood, Italian dishes and steak options. Appetizers, we had the mussels. Main dishes, we had the caesar salad, chicken parmigiana sandwich, flank steak sandwich, kids mac & cheese, black angus burger, and kids chicken fingers. All dishes were large portions, be ready to take a to-go box. Mussels were fresh and the broth was well seasoned, a must if you like mussels. The kids dishes came out very hot. The bowl of mac & cheese especially. All sandwiches (chicken parmesan, flank steak) had very little meat on a very large ciabatta roll. The meat was dry and under seasoned. We ordered a side of tomato sauce to dip the chicken parmesan which helped. Still to much bread to meat/cheese ratio. We felt like we were eating more bread then meat. The angus burger was also a large portion and had all the fixings. Overall a nice location with friendly staff who know how to accommodate large parties. Last Sunday we went to brunch for my mother in laws 65 birthday. We had 13 adults and two children. This review is for the service. When our party was all seated at 12:00 it took 15 minutes for someone to come over and take our drink order. The wait staff looked as if they were thrown into this industry and never have worked before. We had to flag down several servers/ busters before someone took our drink order. At 12:00 it wasn't that busy. They seemed to take care of the tables that were still were waiting for their party. When we received the attention of a waiter he wanted to give us coffee and water before he took our drink order. We then had to wait another 5 minutes. He told us that only mimosas were complimentary and bloody Mary's were not. My wife showed him the website about brunch that said beer/ wine/ Bloody Mary and mimosas were included. He seemed perplexed and had to ask another server. The other server explained that the all you can drink cocktails were part of the " brunch package" which is a different price... fine we agree , however that's not what the flyer said. However this is one of my favorite places and I do love the food. We went in the middle of January, so it was freezing cold, the bay was frozen over and covered with snow. With that being said, the view is still breath taking so I can't even imagine how amazing it is when it's in the spring or summer. The food we had was so amazing. Two of us had the bone in rib eye. It was cooked perfectly, so tender I didn't need a knife, and had great flavor. My boyfriend had the stuffed flounder which was also very flavorful, fresh and massive. He only ate half of it. Everything starts with a side salad as well. But just an FYI, this is the largest side salad I've ever seen. We finished off the night with he Napoleon. It's large enough for everyone to share, so fresh and crisp with a light cream inside. They have this at all their restaurants and it never disappoints. It's Home made so it's the only dessert I would ever suggest. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars, is the service. Our server was alright. Kind of forgetful, we had to ask for several things more than once. And she wouldn't give us more bread. I went to a wedding here, not for dinner. The food was very good and the views of the bay are beautiful. There are times when people are disappointed by food at weddings. That is not the case at this catering hall and restaurant. All the food was fresh, well prepared, and very tasteful. Not easy, actually very difficult, to do when serving a lot of people in a very short period of time. This actually turns out to be a very reasonably priced place for Happy Hour also, especially considering its location on the water and the views that the place offers. The restaurant location and restaurant itself are beautiful. It's right on the bay, as the name suggests. And the interior is fancy, like weddings could be held there. There are beautiful chandeliers throughout the place. We went for restaurant week, and I have to admit I was underwhelmed with the menu offerings. But still, we did enjoy the food and the service was excellent. I had the tomato mozzarella app to start. They gave two pieces of moz over beefsteak tomato's. The moz was thick sliced with olive oil drizzled on top, but I don't like beefsteak tomato's and one of mine were not ripe. The balsamic glaze that came on the side was very very sweet, but overall I liked the cheese with it. Entrees were chicken francese and rigatoni with meatballs. The RW menu, none of it came with vegetables or a side, so the chicken was ordered a la carte and came with pasta on the side. The rigatoni was undercooked for my liking, had a bite to it but real pasta people will say that's how it's supposed to be. The sauce was nothing special and the meatballs, there were 4, were also nothing special. The only dessert offered for RW was one cannoli and coffee. I don't really like cannolis , the shell was good. I don't like the cream inside but that's a me problem. We also ordered vanilla ice cream which was fine. The bread was very good. I'd come back and order something off the regular menu. They have an outdoor deck area for summer that I'd be interested to try. read more

Had a reservation at 2 o'clock on Valentine's Day and was informed once we walked in that it would be an hour wait. This was after she called us today and explain to us that the dinner menu would only be served all. I am still trying to figure out why she did not tell us that it would also be an hour wait even with a reservation. I have been to this restaurant before we're not going ever again I don't think the food is that good. Linguini and clam was awful had no taste, soaked in olive oil, couldn't toast the garlic, no red pepper clams which were there was perfectly cooked. My friend got a Veal chop and it came with a salad but the chop came out on the plate and it was the only thing on the plate. Presentation is everything Staff were nice and apologetic after they originally ordered me the wrong dish I ate the clams and didn't complain about the linguini probably should have. A few weeks ago I attended my school reunion and we had a blast! The party planner Tara was such a delight. I found her personality refreshing and genuine you can tell she loves her job and enjoys helping people and these days that's a rarity. My server was very polite but no one wore name tags so I apologize for not being more personable. My husband and I enjoyed the buffet and again Tara assisted me with my food restrictions as well as the chef giving me more options for my pallet and the manager checking in to make sure I was happy. Had lunch here. This place definitely has a classy vibe. It's located right in the Patchogue bay and the dining room has a great view of the ocean. I ordered the rigatoni with shrimp scallops and spinach over red wine sauce. The meal was delicious!! But kinda felt like a rip off because there were about 4 shrimp in there and 6 scallops. You're mainly paying for noodles. At $30 they give u a lot but you're paying for the portion. My sister ordered a salad and some clams for the table as well. Clams were delicious and so was the salad. The food here is seriously excellent and flavorful. Reason I didn't give this place 5 stars is because the service was very slow bringing out the food and I was starving. Just got home from brunch with Santa..while the food was good..it really didn't provide much interaction with the kids..last year we attended brunch with Santa at the Roslyn Hotel..now that was worth every penny..they provide interactive games for kids ( freeze dance,,magic etc.& ofcourse the pic with Santa for which we were not charged extra as we were at Lombardis..basically Lombardis served brunch took pic with Santa & you couldn't use your phone to take your own pic..not coming back next year..they also charged you for each extra milk..staff very friendly by the way..but they have a good reputation but could have done better with the Santa brunch read more

Came here for my birthday brunch on a Sunday. We came early as they recommended to ensure a window table. The view of the bay was nice. You can't sit outside for brunch though. The service was a little slow on refilling mimosas, coffee, and water. The spread wasn't as nice in compared to The View in Oakdale. They had an omelette station, carving station, hot and cold pasta, chaffing dishes, and desserts. The raw oysters and clams were my favorite of it all. I usually don't like to leave such a negative review, but I am compelled to forewarn future diners. My friends and I went there on a late afternoon, Sunday, to have dinner prior to a show at the Patchogue theater. We made reservations based on what we saw on Open Table. On Open Table it states they offered a 3 course Prix Fix for $29.95. After we sat down, the humble waiter told us they did not have that menu today and we asked for the manager. The Manager in a very indignant tone, denied they had that available. I showed him the Open Table ad, and he would not honor it. We felt we were part of a bait and switch scam. We left and went to an adorable restaurant across the street and felt welcomed and had a delicious, affordable meal. Lombardi's used to a be a great place, obviously not anymore. read more

My mom and I just got back from a road trip from the CIA and we were hungry so we figured we would go to Lombardis on the Bay. The bartender super nice as always she is great. We ordered calamari and decided to split a burger. The burger was a little burger good for a child and they charged 26.00 for a burger. I expressed my thoughts to the manager he did nothing. Let's put it this way McDonalds burger is bigger. Very disappointed not sure if I will go back. I have had other meals there and they are good not great but okay. All I can say is... anytime I've spoken to a worker outside of the restaurant, they have nothing good to say about the ownership and how they're treated at work. They must be making good money, though, in order to stay. It is on the water in patchogue and is very pretty inside. Lombardis food is good, but I tend to go to Holbrook for good Italian, but have more recently tried to go places where the employees seem happier. read more

Even thought the weather didn't cooperate the staff at Lombardi's went the extra mile to make sure the party was a great event for all, espicially Will, our maitre d. First, the restaurant was having a private party, so any table with a water view was unavailable. We sat next to the doors to the bar. Second, wedge salad was not a wedge, but chopped lettuce. This was billed as a $15 steak house salad. Not even close. Third, two members of the party had pork oso buco. Served on the bone. Not tender. The "homemade" gnocchi was questionable, comment was made that Trader Joe's pre-packaged was better. Fourth, pasta with shrimp and scallops. Lots of pasta, only 3 littlw shrimp, which were overcooked and four decent, well cooked scallops. The service was fine and friendly. Portions were large, most people seemes to take food home. Just left here for brunch on 5/15 for the 1:15pm seating. For the $50 or $55 a person, it is 100% not worth it. They had one person on the omelette station with a line at one point of up to 10 people, I didn't want to wait so j sat back down; after the line died down, I got up, and the man who was doing the counter started to walk away. I figured I'd wait and about 4/5 minutes went by and he never came back. This was at about 2/2:15pm. The coffee was Luke warm at best, and there were kids at our table between 5-9 years old and the server kept putting the mimosas in front of them and my cousin grabbed it when we weren't looking and almost drank it. East coast oysters were good but if I'm paying over $50 for a 1.5 hour seating maybe you can shuck the oysters out of the shell a little so I don't have to use my knife at my table trying to scoop it out? Mimosas were all Orange juice-it sounds good "bottomless" but not when you put 80% OJ and 20% Prosecco. If it was a $30/$35 brunch I would have no complains but for the prices they charge I would never go back. "Seafood bar" was shrimp oysters and clams. This review is for the catering room. As I write this review, I am presently attending a wedding that must have almost 200 people crammed into a room that says fire code is for 149. The room is ridiculously over crowded to the point each time a server fits by my seat, I have to move in to make room. Too many people packed in way too tight. The Chickasha pay was nothing to get excited over. I am sitting her now just waiting did the dinner, we'll see..... Our server Larissa is working really hard to keep the tables cleaned and ready for our next course. Thank you, she is doing an excellent job. I just had my dinner, 1 piece of filet mignon. WORST place ever went there for dinner received the WORST FOOD amd SERVICE EVER. Spoke to the manager he did nothing to make the situation any better . I mean everything from the wedge salad that has no dressing when served the oyster full of shell pieces the filet mignon coming to us cooked well done ( we ordered med rare and the broccoli w garlic in oil severed after we had to ask for it , it come out steamed plain w nothing on it so we asked again for it to be fixed since they were remaking our steak at this point . When it finally came back to the table it was just sitting in an obnoxious, amount of oil I mean WTF . PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU BOOK! My husband and I had our small intimate wedding reception at this location last Friday 8/11. We met with a woman months prior who I think was let go after we met since she never returned any calls or emails after she received our initial deposit. She was very spacey and had no idea of the rooms or capacity. After leaving numerous emails and messages I was finally in touch with another woman in the catering department. Once we met with her we were brought to a room which wasn't even offered to us initially for our small party of 35, but we're then told they have no elevators or ramps for handicapped... that in itself is worrisome for a venue. Keep in mind if they can't get a small party of 35 right, I would be terrified to know what happens with a large reception. We were told the only room available for the Friday afternoon event was the main dining area but assured our tables and guests would be on the opposite side of the bar where no other guests would be and that the restaurant is usually very slow at that time and day of the week. Upon arriving with our guests we had already informed the staff days prior that we would be a little early and asked if our guests would be able to enjoy cocktails at the bar. When we got there the restaurant was packed. Our tables were not yet setup and there were other people in the area of our PAID IN FULL event. I was totally stressed out. They were so unprepared but that was JUST the beginning. Our guests proceeded to the bar with other restaurant goers, which was not supposed to happen. The one request I had of no glasses at the table that says "coors light" on them was completely overlooked and the linens I paid for were oversized napkins laid on the table overlapping each other. I proceeded to take pictures with the wedding party and came back to an even bigger mess. They were telling our guests that food we specifically paid EXTRA for to have on the menu was not available, then argued with me until they looked at the contract to see that we paid extra and they overlooked that as well. There was NO AC ON IN THE ROOM on a HOT august day, which myself, my husband and multiple guests had asked about and were ignored or told to ask our waiter. Keep in mind there was a beautiful room right next to us, EMPTY for our entire event, and from what I learned the entire day and night that had full blasting AC and a more private area. We were never offered that space. The only good thing about the dinner was the amount of food but then it got worse. My mother and I were served our dinner 15 minutes AFTER all of our guests had finished eating and were cleaned up. And to top that off, the manager on duty who was extremely nasty and I just learned was fired after our event, rushed me to "pay the bar tab" since it was 3 minutes over our party time. After ALL that he wanted me to rush to pay another bill. My husband spoke to him of how upset he was about everything and the manager told him to "take it out of the waiters tip" the young waiter was the ONLY one who did his job right and you could tell was trying to make up for managements lack of professionalism. Not his fault. This is management and owners fault. It is now over a week since our event and we have not heard a peep from ownership or new management. Calamari tasted chewy and the one prevalent taste was of fried flour. shrimp was over cooked and no seasoning whatsoever. it's best to stay at home than waste your hard earnt money and time in a 1 star place like this one. We had our Christmas party luncheon here last week food drinks and service were great. Everyone complimented the restaurant some were first timers . They never said no to any request we had family style appetizers then off the menu we used the dinner menu. Also the alcove was private like a separate room but in main dinning room highly recommend. We only stopped by for drinks and appetizers and asked to be seated on the outdoor patio. We always try the calamari appetizer wherever we go as a baseline.
