Last night had dinner started with a garden salad and a pizza. For some reason inside the restaurant they only do personal pizzas. The pizza was good not wonderful. It was thin crust and did not have a ton of cheese. The salad was very good. My friends had risotto and chicken parmigiana. Both looked very good. the chicken parm was huge. First time eating here last night. Not great! Chewy chicken so 2 entrees went virtually uneaten. Undercooked steak, ordered medium rare got rare. The worst was the meatball parm hero. We just came from Lombardo's in Dobbs Ferry. We've been here many times before. We're always very happy with the food, service and staff. Today, however was a very different story. We had to ask several times for bread, several times for extra dressing for the salad, and several times for another soda. The waitress completely screwed up our orders, and blamed the kitchen. We weren't offered any kind of compensation, nor did a manager come over to try to fix it or even try to get to the bottom of it. The waitress never once came to check on us and the food took forever. She did apologize at the end. The food was good as always, but tonight the service was really awful!! read more

Ordered from here via Seamless for a group of people I had over on New Years Eve. An hour and a half later I called the restaurant to inquire about the status. Then proceeded to get put on hold (for a lengthy periods of time) and hung up on FIVE times - forced to explain who I was and what I was calling about around a dozen times. Finally got a very nice lady who at least understood the situation and "what Seamless was". They basically explained that they lost my order. Folks answering the phone have absolutely no idea what's going. Didn't even know what Seamless was. They ended up cancelling my order and leaving me scrambling to find food after all the other places started closing for the evening. I was actually looking forward to trying this new restaurant in Dobbs Ferry. Unfortunately I was sadly disappointed. The service was horrible took half an hour for our waiter to comes then when my food came my French fries were cold I had to wait 10 minutes to send it back and then they came back two minutes later and they were Raw I just gave up. I ordered the steak Frites for $28 sadly it was two very small slices of skirt steak smothered with onions and mushrooms when we asked for water for the table the bus boy was bring by one water class at a time which took about 10 minutes for us to get refills. Tried this place out because we live a few minutes away, I had ordered takeout from them a few times and it had always came out hot and delicious. The service was good, drinks were pricey but delicious. The menu has classic options like veal marsala, also pizzas as well. Finished the meal off with an espresso and a tiramisu. Have had both dinner and happy hour there a few times. We are amazed how consistently both the food and drink, and the service is incredible. The bartender Flamur makes great cocktails and is very friendly. Always looks to assist you. Our waiter Melllo is a real pro. He is extremely knowledgeable about the entire menu and has really good recommendations if you're undecided. He has tremendous interpersonal skills and makes you feel at home. I started patronizing Lombardo's when they first opened, and it has become my Italian restaurant of choice, since then! I cannot say enough good things about it. I have hosted large family dinners and group meetings in their private section, which seats about 15. Each time, every single dish , for every course was served flawlessly, by well-trained staff. Many members of the parties have returned over and over to try their favorites - chicken primavera, fusilli compagniola and oversized pork chop, topped with delicious salad! Needless to say, I have patronized the restaurant for many luncheons, dinners and Happy Hours, as well, and have never been disappointed!The lunch prices fixe is an amazing well-kept secret! Finally, their catering menu is amazing. I have ordered from them multiple times, trying many different items. The orders were always correct, with deliveries made, cheerfully, on time! Again, there were rave reviews from all present, who were from throughout the country! Always have had an all in all good experience here. I prefer to keep it simple. The pizza and the chicken parm are always on point. Tried the mussels, they came out luke warm and a little bit on the undercooked side. I always like to give things a second chance so I'll try them again in a different sauce, maybe the kitchen was just having an off day. My husband went to order a pizza for take out. While he waited he had 2 beers. He was charged $3.50 above the menu price for the pizza and taxed on the beers he had at the bar?! 3 different stories from 3 different employees. This is the second time ordering for Lombardo's. The first time there was no problem. Today we ordered through GrubHub. I ordered and paid for four dinners and only received three dinners. I then had to call the restaurant and arrange for them to refund me for the missing dinner. It was an inconvenience but not the end of the world. What upset me was my son ordered chicken parm and it wasn't cooked enough! The chicken was so chewy it had to be thrown out. Gross!! I think I'm done with this place. Great place to bring the family. Very kid friendly and we seem to keep coming back here when we meet other friends with young children for dinner. Large menu with plenty of tasty options. Recommend the homemade pasta (I had the pesto trofie with shrimp) and pizza. Calamari comes in multiple styles and is excellent as well. We have had two amazing outdoor dinners here in the past month. First, I want to compliment the entire staff. Many of the staff members are young (high school and college students) and they are attentive, responsive, polite, and energetic. They have provided flexible responses to the diners in our party, changing tables for us and making good dining recommendations and always putting in orders correctly even with special requests. Here are some thinks that have been amazing to eat: branzino marechiara, shrimp oreganata, calamari fritti, mussels arrabiata, entree salads (forgot the variety), cheesecake, molten lava cake. Also tasty cocktails are available by the pitcher! I hope they invest in heaters for the winter so we can continue going during these difficult days. And-- if you are okay dining inside-- it looks super comfortable, very clean, and well designed! Prices are amazingly fair for the quantity and quality of the food! Parking is a cinch! read more
