Best NY Pizza. Hands down. As good as Italy. $20 for cheese pizza. Very big pizza. My landlord is Italian and swears by it.

It is amazing what three days can do! My husband , brother in law and I stopped at this restaurant on our way home to CT on Monday night., just 3 days after their opening, and had a wonderful experience! We walked through the restaurant and could see that there is something for everyone here. There is outdoor seating at both the front and back areas, able to accommodate both the "slice" crowd near the pizza counters and family dining or a stop for a few cocktails off the dining room. Adjacent to the pizza counters, there is a bright, open marketplace offering fresh and dried pastas, cheeses, olive oil,, tomatoes, and other produce. Wish we lived closer to be able to take advantage of the to-go soups and salads they will offer. The hostess seated us near the bar. Let me say the decor is warm and welcoming and the vibe is upbeat. The bar area is classy. We watched the bartender experimenting with some signature drinks, working to perfect just the right blends of flavors. My husband was happy with the beer selection and I stuck to my old stand by, wine.( the wine shop next door is great, too) We were brought menus and our drink order was taken and delivered. We were brought warm bread and butter, the ciabatta rolls were delish. After we placed our order, we were greeted by the owner and managers, each taking the time to welcome us and chat. You can tell how committed they are to making sure their customers are happy. We ordered some slices, a pizza, the penne ala vodka, and the shrimp gamberi, all delivered hot within a reasonable wait time. The food was plentiful and excellent. Pasta done al dente, just the way I like it and the shrimp were fresh and cooked perfectly. Fresh tomatoes, broccoli and a light sauce rounded out my dish. Yum! The pizza was also excellent served with fresh ingredients, including fresh mozzarella and a crispy bottom crust. The cheesecake andchocolate polenta cake were over the top. I have to admit, for someone who most always takes home half of my meal, I carried out nothing but ate it all. Give Lombardo's a try! We chatted this place up with friends and found a bunch who will make the trip with us to go back. read more

We live in the neighborhood near this new Italian restaurant, so we've been eager to check it out. The first visit was too early, when only pizza was offered, so we wanted to try again, and we were not disappointed. We ate well. The warm rolls were delicious, as was the crispy fried zucchini appetizer. The sausage and peppers were fine, unless you want spicy, and the spaghetti bolognese was tasty, with fine al dente pasta. Ambience is pleasant - modern, casual, clean and new. It is, however, very noisy. Like many restaurants, they seem to have done nothing to minimize noise, probably to show there is a "buzz" going on. Unfortunately, because there are lots of children, it is more of a "shriek" than a "buzz." While the kitchen is still improving, our server, Nancy, could not have been more pleasant or helpful, same for the bus boys. We will be back. read more

Do not order from this establishment!! After what we thought would have been a nice birthday celebration was instead met with two incompetent employees (women taking the order and Peter). We picked up a large order and within our order was $70.00 worth of items that we did not order. We called the restaurant where we were at first put on hold and then disconnected. When calling back we spoke with one of the employees who stated that it's not their fault that we didn't check the order and receipt prior to leaving. Our sincerest apologies for expecting employees to do their job correctly. Not once did we receive an "I'm sorry" instead we received combative responses defending the employees for not doing their job right. Once requesting a refund multiple times, we then offered for a driver to pick up the food we did not order. The restaurant said they would send a driver to pick up the items. When asked if they planned to resell the items, the person on the phone hesitated. I certainly hope for the health and safety of all customers that they don't choose to resell these items. I have never experienced such horrific customer service. We as well as everyone attending the birthday celebration will never eat there again. read more

Second attempt at this new place in my neighborhood. This time with my DH who has an amazing Italian cook for a mother. The experience was underwhelming on all counts. No one greets at either door. 5-6 people stand at a host station looking dazed and confused. There are no specials. Our calamari came out frighteningly fast and chewy. Suspicious. Service was ok, but a splatter of sauce sat on the table throughout our meal. Yes, it was our mess, but good servers would have tactfully removed it. At a place that charges in the $20s for basic entrees, I expect stellar service. My husband's hero sandwich was not hot and the presentation was bland. He said he won't go back unless someone else were paying. I would like to have enjoyed Lombardo's, but they have a long way to go starting with the appearance of knowing how to run a dining room. read more

The parking arrangement present their is appalling, and the slice of Buffalo Chicken Pizza was chewy and burnt. I found the service was very slow and that the fact that the men's bathroom's paint was ruined. read more

Very decent food. Clean place, attentive staff, reasonable prices. Have been there 3 times and so far everything has been good (with the exception of alcohol) as #1.- I've only gone at lunch time, #2.- have been accompanied by my kids and #3.- I have a tendency to get melancholic if I drink while the sun is still out :/ read more

We've apparently been doing this wrong all along... screw Penne a la Vodka - pasta in a Sambuca-based sauce is where it's at. The Spaghetti al Cartoccio is one of the best things I've eaten in recent memory - an amazing dish tossed with shrimp and sweet sausage, sautéed in a pink Sambuca sauce and baked and presented in a foil pouch. I couldn't get enough of it. Soup (butternut squash) and salad were decent, but nothing to prepare me for the excellent entree. The service was pleasant and friendly. I'd love to say I'll come back and sample something else, see if there are any other gems on the menu, but I'm pretty confident that if I wind up back here, I'll be ordering that Spaghetti al Cartoccio again. read more

I would give it a 6 out of 5 if I could. I used to live right down the street and would pick up several times a week, especially on a lazy night passing it on the drive home after a long day at work. Literally nothing better in the world than a tray of their sicilian pizza. I've tried everything from a grandma slice to the chicken parm to the penne vodka to the calzones, and I have never ever had a bad experience. I typically don't review the day after an excellent meal, but the Sicilian pie I picked up last night was out of this world. I just wish I knew someone who works there to get a volume discount for the amount I go haha. read more

All around good Italian, every time! My wife, kids and I eat here once a month and order in 2-3x a month. The only concern you should have about eating from Lombardi's is parking. Don't believe the menu. I ordered the Insalata di Gamberoni. Said grilled jumbo shrimp. The shrimp were smaller than the little platter you might buy at Stop & Shop. I actually asked if they were actually grilled jumbo shrimp and they said yes. What a rip off. The rest of the salad had a little of the toppings that they said they had and tons of lettuce. My daughter who is quite the critic of Penne Vodka said it was very good! the Veal Marsala had great cuts of veal and the Marsala sauce was on point.. very full of flavor and LOTS of mushrooms.. these meals were quite worth the leftover bag for the next day.. this restaurant had very nice atmosphere and seemed like it would have been fun in the evening. read more

Clean, brightly lit pizzeria/trattoria with a small attached market. The decor is generic. Cocktails were good. Wine by the glass was OK. The waitstaff were very nice except there was a big push by everyone to clear plates ASAP (often before we were done). I guess there is a lot of pressure to turn over the tables. We were served a some very good warm bread and rolls after being seated. The garden salad was OK- iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, onions, olive slices and mushrooms with a vinaigrette dressing. Grandma's pizza was billed as being thin crusted. It turned out to be a thin crusted Siciian pizza, which is a bit oxymoronic. The flavors were OK. The rigatoni with chicken, spinach and pink sauce was the best dish. Everything came together and it was decadently cheesy. The fusilli campagnola had good flavor, but the pasta was overcooked and there was half an inch of oil at the bottom of the dish. Biscotti were OK. Two out of three of our cappucccinos weren't warm enough. Overall, an OK experience. You could do worse. This place occupies the niche between pizzeria and serious Italian restaurant. If you are in the mood for Italian food, want more than pizza but don't want to make a big production out of dinner, Lombardo's fits the bill. read more

We love Lombardo's! I know a delicious meal is sure to come as soon as their basket of amazing little bread pillows hits the table- soft, warm and yummy. My stepmom and I always order the Tuscan Steak Salad because the combination of Steak, Mesclun Greens, Tomatoes and Gorgonzola Cheese is perfection. My dad loves the Linguine con Vongole and Tiramisu - we always leave sated and happy. I arrived at Lombardo's by chance. We were on the Hutch when our brakes failed! Yikes! Luckily my husband got us off the highway and into Mamaroneck Service Inc., Mobile station at 1237 Mamaroneck Ave. in White Plains, 1/2 a block from Lombardo's. We were taking him to JFK. He caught a cab there - & made his plane! I relaxed with a fabulous glass of Rodney Strong Chardonnay, delicious lentil soup and a perfect side salad with Gorgonzola cheese and Italian dressing at Lombardo's. The restaurant is attractive. More than one server was attentive to me without bugging me, which was good b/c I really wanted some quiet time after the car situation. It was a wonderful surprise to stumble upon Lombardo's and have such good quality food, service and ambiance. I'm in CT, my sister's in NJ, I'd definitely go back if I wanted to break up the trip. read more

It's my parents favorite place and since my mother was turning 80 years young, we decided to have our small family event catered by them. They didn't disappoint. We only gave them 24 hours advanced notice but they didn't have a problem with the turn around time. The food was ready when it was promised. We ordered a half tray garden salad, a half tray of Rigatoni Montanara, and a half tray of Fusilli Campagniola. The Rigatoni consisted of spinach, sundried tomatoes, and chicken, in a garlic and oil base. It was excellent. The Fusilli dish consisted of broccoli rabe and ground sausage in a garlic and oil base. That was superb. The catering order came with plenty of fresh bread. The half-trays serve between 10-12 and that was perfect for us. Each dish was hot, fresh, and tasty. Ordering and picking up was a breeze and everyone was very friendly. The prices were very reasonable for the amount of food and what they offered. I can see why my parents love this place. read more

Came here for a sit down meal since it's what my kids wanted. When we arrived and I asked for a table for 3 I was told they are busy, and asked to wait in a corner. A number of people walked in after my exchange with the staff. Each party seated immediately. After 20 minutes of waiting my 5 year old says, "they gave everyone who came after us a table". At that moment we ended leaving and not one person who worked there cared enough to notice or say something. I will gladly take my money to a business that values ALL customers. I came here a couple of years ago and was disappointed with the pizza. I decided to give them a second try. I was heading north to White Plains New York and I was hungry. I stopped in for a slice of mushroom pizza they did not have a slice of mushroom pizza so they took a regular slice of pizza and threw some canned mushrooms on top of it . That was such a lame move I couldn't believe it. When I complained to the man he said this is how we do it that's not a slice of real pizza at all keep it! Lombardo's delivers (no pun intended) great Italian food that is sometimes hit or miss in the White Plains/Westchester area. I have to say their pizza is really great! I think it might be the best in White Plains and is definitely underrated! I've had the margherita pizza and it was one of the best I've ever had. The only downside to Lombardo's is definitely the crowds. Do not go on a weekend unless you plan on eating early! This place is always packed and the parking is not the best! The gluten free pizza is very very thin, almost like a cracker, it's a small personal sized pizzetta. We actually very much enjoy it. We give Lombardo's 4 stars. To be honest the only thing preventing 5 stars is price. For the two of us bill ends up being $50. For pizza it's a bit harsh I would like to bring attention to the way their menu is structured. The establishment has vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options which is awesome! And all of the food is pretty good. But when you combine an order the price isn't taken into account and the price gets higher and higher. Making a personal size pizza with 3 toppings as expensive as a fully loaded pie. Maybe a vegan, gluten free pizza option? With 2-3 toppings at a set price? If management reads this we'd be grateful for the gesture and happy to give 5 stars. As Lombardo's is one of our favorite places to take out from ! I have a ton of friends that would like to grab a bite here a few times a week but are detoured for this one reason. I wanted to like it more than I did. They obviously spent good money on the build-out so I hope it works out but I think it's an identity crisis. Prices are 20-25% higher than a place like this should be. If the prices were more competitive the place can thrive as a solid neighborhood pizza/trattoria style place. If you're thinking -- just what Westchester needs, another pizza pasta restaurant.... you'll be pleasantly surprised. The decor is nice, the menu ambitious, and the service prompt. This review is for a Wednesday lunch. Given that it was late August and after 1:30, I'd say the crowd was pretty good. First to arrive, pillowy warm rolls, fresh from the oven, really excellent. We started with fried calamari arrabiata. A bit pricey at $14.50, but a large portion with a fine proportion of tentacles. The squid was crisp and light, the sauce savory, but not as hot as promised. The peppers in it were mild, they may have been roasted peppers and not the specified cherry peppers. We both had parmagiana sandwiches. My wife's, made with what looked like grilled chicken, was quite good and still filling. I enjoyed the veal, even if not quite as good as Francesco's. We took some home. Will return for a dinner. The risotto Genoese sounds awesome, although it strikes me as inauthentic. Gonna check my Waverly Root. read more

I really love this place. Some menu items are really good, while others are just okay. However, their pizza and pasta is outstanding. Best buffalo chicken pizza slice I've ever had in my life. While sitting at the restaurant, service can be quite slow sometimes. But they can get quite busy so I understand. When I want to get a quick slice to go, I never wait for more than a couple of minutes. Staff is friendly, place has a nice atmosphere. Very clean, I always see them scrubbing and sweeping. It can get a little loud, but nothing too unbearable. I love the fact it's right up the street from me! In all, you should def stop by for a slice! read more

I was in this new Dobby Ferry location in November as I had to pick up a friend from La Guardia Airport and take her home to Yonkers so we stopped by here to eat. The place is beautiful inside and the staff were very nice. I had chicken parmigiana dinner with spaghetti. The portion was large so I took 1/2 home. Service was great and they kept filling our waters and bringing over hot bread. I actually like this location better then White Plains. read more

Had a very disappointing experience with this establishment in the past week. We phoned in a dinner order that we would pick up since this is close to us. We'll never do this again... Parking at this place is just a nightmare. If lot is full there is no on street parking you are stuck. No designated spot in the lot to park if your are just picking up so had to wait for a spot to open. It was starting to snow hard. My wife ran it to get food and pay. Get back home only to find out some items from order were missing. The main entrees and apps were there but pizza slices ordered were not though we were charged for them! By now it's snowing even harder and road condition were bad so did not go back for the missing food. Called the restaurant and the girl refused to refund us unless we returned to restaurant! With the poor road conditions and other food already getting colder it was hardly worth the risk to go back. They offered us a credit for next time we return though we'd have no proof of this even occurring. Things got worse once we ate the food we had rec'd. The zucchini was greasy and soggy. My chicken was dry from over cooking though the vegetables were cooked good. Overall service was bad, food bad, and they ruined what was supposed to be a relaxing Saturday night dinner. We won't be collecting the money they owe us because we are not returning. For the prices this place charges you'd expect much better service and food. read more

Don't care about customer service. When ordering take out guy is like "27.95!" You feel like you did something wrong by ordering. They I guess are busy and can't figure out how to do busy and cordiality at the same time. Salad at $16 was overpriced. Food is sometimes spot on and other times meh. I would say I'm a regular, having been there almost 10 times this year but they're definitely at the bottom of my list because of the brusqueness of service alone. read more
